Hindulotine - Rubber Guard Guillotine CHOKE OUT | Ben Eddy

  • EDIT: The grip has changed, it’s no longer a reverse gable grip. Currently, it’s a modified S-grip guillotine, Ben calls it the “ok grip” (LINK BELOW)
    OK Grip ► / byfvvikhyrh
    Ben Eddy (10th Planet Oceanside) is one of Eddie Bravo's top black belt competitors. Ben earned the CJJ Featherweight title at EBI 15 after defeating Nick Honstein who was a pro-MMA fighter with a 16-9 record.
    With his insane unorthodox style, Ben executed the Hindulotine at the 10th Planet Qualifiers 6, EBI 1 and CJJ Worlds 2. I've included a short highlight of this submission in the first half of the video.
    The second half of the video includes the Hindulotine Submission breakdown. The Hindulotine is essentially a Guillotine from Rubber Guard using a reverse gable grip to apply the choke. The beauty of this technique is that the choke still works even if the guard is passed. An alternative option from the Hindu Control is transitioning to Dead Orchard (see link below) and reverse Triangles.

    Hey thanks for making this video, I like it 😁👌. Yea basically a leg in guillotine. One thing I’d say is the grip has changed, it’s no longer a reverse gable grip. It’s a modified s grip guillotine I call an “ok grip”. It’s on my channel. It’s a unique guillotine grip I will also use and go to without the leg in too.
    Everyone will always comment about the knee.. but I actually play this and all my rubber guard game with paths that don’t stress my knee. I don’t go the gogo route and if you pay attention, this Hindu route, my knee stays in the same position. It puts nothing on the knee. Flexibility needed is more in the shoulder. But yes, this is a super unique body type dependent move. It’s a freak move. And I think that’s exactly the freedom we have as competitors vs coaches.. I don’t run a gym teaching or telling people they should play this. It’s one of the unique tricks in my bag as a competitor.

      Thank you Ben, it's an honor to feature you on my channel.
      I had no idea the grip was changed and will let people know in the description. This is something I'm definitely going to drill.
      Big fan of yours and thank you for watching!!

    • @BenEddy

      Xladen Light a tall order of course, but this game is meant for a Khabib. And I would have confidence playing it.

      @@BenEddy man i hope to one day see rubber guard be played regularly in mma. It would be cool to see a fighter dominate from the bottom

    • @BenEddy
      @BenEddy 5 років тому +11

      Xladen Light yea it’s tough cause rubber guard is such a specialist game and committing to being in guard. And takes quite awhile to get really good at.. so there are a lot of factors to why we don’t see it yet. It interests me quite a bit to know how effective it would be in mma. If played by a high level person.

      Right... I'm 34 years old this year and my brother still loves getting froggy every now and again. We were both in the military, but I took my hand to hand combat skills higher than he did. He hates when I roll him up, but he starts it usually when my back is turned, so yeah, going for this choke next time. Lol.

      @Porrada Everyday speaking the truth. 10th planet is some fun stuff to watch but I dont think that it relies enough on solid, fundamental, basic Jiujitsu.

    • @otalaedwin
      @otalaedwin 5 років тому +2

      @Porrada Everyday Never forget that the Rubber Guard system was designed for MMA as a way to avoid getting punched. It's proved very effective for that purpose with Tony Ferguson using the system very effectively or even BJ Penn doing very similar stuff back in the day.
      It's not the best for sports BJJ where there is no strike so playing open butterfly is better. (if you try open/butterfly in MMA you get either beat up or the guy stand up if he doesn't stay on the ground.)

    • @Cornbreadddd
      @Cornbreadddd 5 років тому

      Until it's not.........most of it is the kind of shit that will work on a guy once or twice....and then, they'll know not to get their posture broken....and so long as you keep your posture....quite literally none of the 10th planet shit is viable anymore. It will work a couple times on the same person, but after that, if the person is even remotely decent, this goofy shit won't work anymore.

    love these videos... It's seems like Eddie is training up some wizards at 10 planet.... what I like is he isn't teaching them a regid system.. but giving them a framework..and leaving plenty of room for them to come up with their own Submissions.. it's like he's opened up another world of BJJ... it's amazing to see..

  • @davecronce3127
    @davecronce3127 4 роки тому

    These breakdowns are awesome and are great to watch from a countering standpoint as well. I made a guy tap with a hail Mary counter to this move. Same set up, I used my right arm to fight off the guillotine grips by my neck and moved my right hand to the left side of my face. I wind milled my left arm over the foot over my neck and s-gripped my hands. Squeezing my elbows gave a sort of toe hold torque to the ankle and knee. It was a last ditch move that just happened to work. When my partner does these moves they work for him but he is maxed out from a flexibility stand point and he told me what I did to him put a ton of pressure on his knee.
    Long story short, I can't come close to trying most of these moves with my 2x4 flexibility, but I love your breakdowns.

    Such great sportsmanship @1:26 when homie goes out. It always bothers me when I see the victor, with complete disregard for their opponent, shove an unconscious competitor off of them and on to the mat. Why do that? I get that at times there is bad blood between competitors but that doesn’t justify a conspicuous lack of integrity. Do right by eachother.

      @BJJ Trickster ....... I’ve been involved in Technical Rock Climbing for 38 years & at one time was considered quite decent at it. Your pliability reminds me of a World Class Sport Climber. If you have time (or interest) please google Adam Ondra & Alex Magos. Oos 👏🏾🤙🏽

      The knees are intact if you know what you're doing. It's lateral rotation of the hips and hugging your knees to prevent meniscus tear. You only hurt your knee if you're super stiff and yanking on your feet. But if your knees is close to your chest, you're good

    I didn’t even know how he was getting the choke until they addressed the hand hold. Not a whole lotta space to get that done! It’s like being wrapped up by a python.....once he gets you there, you’re done.
