I love this video! I’ve watched many times. I didn’t do well with my first canes but this is so much fun to watch! I won’t give up with polymer clay! Even Stephanie said, there’s no reason to hold us back in polymer clay, tools can be toothpicks, razor blades etc. I love Stephanie’s channel!
Thank you for showing the citrus cane! The grapefruit looks beautiful and highly realistic. Your videos are inspiring and I appreciate you making and sharing them.
I sell a lot of polymer clay ( i also use it) so if this helps people.... The harder/firmer to work with brands (best for caning etc) are kato (which cannot be mixed with other brands), fimo professional, fimo soft and then maybe primo for simple stuff. For general stuff (such as jewellery making or small sculptures) i would recommend fimo, fimo professional, and premo, sculpey souflee and cernit. Generally I only recommend pardo for speciality translucent jewellery making. For sculpey 3, sculpey original, and fimo air dry etc are great for crafts (and kids) for times that the work doesn't require much strength or detail work.
I don't have a pasta press. After trying my first cane, I see it was necessary. I tried another technique for citrus, but when I get my press, I will use this method, as it looks much easier.. Thank you for the demonstration.
Je viens de découvrir ta chaîne grâce à Portes Bonheur sur Facebook! Abbonnement confirmé! :D J'adore ton vidéo sur les champignons sur un morceau d'écorce-très inspirant!!!
Thanks Stephanie for sharing videos. Your works are just awesome. as a beginner I have some questions. where do you bake the clay? is it a microwave, or oven? and how long do you bake them normally?
Hi Stephanie. I see you are in South Africa. So am I, I have never seen this brand of clay Staedtler makes and they don't have it on their website. are you still able to buy it?
Really really enjoying your videos and I've been looking for a new art form to try so you've inspired me to buy some clay and give this a go! Thanking you :)
Stephanie thank you for this tutorial, I made my triangle but when I started to reduce it, all the clay got mixed and lose its shape... I think it was too hot, too squeeze... I hope you can give me another tip. Thank you so much.
I never had issues with caning, however I talked about that with a friend recently, and some people reduce too fast. You really want to push the clay from all around slowly and reduce it to the right size. Heat shouldn't be an issue.
Oh my gosh, this is beautiful! I've been following your blog since 2014, I think, it is what inspired me to start miniature food art and I am so glad you have also made some videos. Your new non-food miniatures are wonderful too! :)
what kind of material do you make the mold with? by the way your work is way more awesome and I believe it deserves millions of views. Amazing channel. Subscribed!
Hi there, new subscriber here and have a question, hope it's okay to ask. At 4:00 mark you make a mould out of blue clay. My question is, do you bake it before using it? Thanks in advance for any help you can give a newbie, I so badly want to try your tutorial.
+Stephanie K. PetitPlat I know I just wanted a place to start so i get a feel for the time. Its so intimidating because im scare i will underbake it or overbake it.
Never apologize for rain. The sound of rain is beautiful!
stancexpunks I agree 💯 🥰
Always that wonderful realization that eventually those blobs of clay become tiny real things!
it's the fun part of sculpting :)

The colors are so very lovely and the texture looks so realistic, it looks like it took a really long time to do. So perfect for summer🍊
making a cane is always a bit tedious, but it keeps in good shape for a few months :) thanks!
Thank you for showing the citrus cane! The grapefruit looks beautiful and highly realistic. Your videos are inspiring and I appreciate you making and sharing them.

Thanks Stephanie for sharing videos. Your works are just awesome. as a beginner I have some questions. where do you bake the clay? is it a microwave, or oven? and how long do you bake them normally?
polymer clay always has to be cured in the oven. And I bake for about 40 minutes.
Hi Stephanie. I see you are in South Africa. So am I, I have never seen this brand of clay Staedtler makes and they don't have it on their website. are you still able to buy it?

@@stephanie.kilgast Thank you!
Great video, I learned alot. Thank you.
What blue mold stuff do you use?
That you can also bake?
Can you use that mold more than once?
+Zero Wolf I use a two part silicone mold. The one I use is siligum from gedeo. And yes you can bake the mold.
How do you stop your clay from getting dusty??? P.s you're amazing and I absolutely adore your work!!❤️💛💚💙💜
Lola Summers wipe it with alcohol or acetone

+Stephanie K. PetitPlat check out Hello San Jose
Great tutorial!
thanks!
I blinked and it reduced from 3 inches to like 10. How did you make the first slice like that?
Great!!
Super !!! bravo :)
merci :)
wow cute >o< it's the same idea for handmade candy~~ ^_^ i love it!!
Can you put baking times? like how long and what degree? This tutorial was amazing! Thank you for showing us :D
temperature and baking time depends on the brand you are using
+Stephanie K. PetitPlat I know I just wanted a place to start so i get a feel for the time. Its so intimidating because im scare i will underbake it or overbake it.
For fimo, I usually bake 30 minutes at 120-130°C
the reducing is how you make multiple tiny candies too :D weird since I recently started watching those kinds of videos too
I’m obsessed with mini stuff, this is amazing for decor in mini display houses! Where do you buy the materials?
R A from ebay
I liked your vid.
ICH. LIEBE. DIESES. VIDEO. es ist einfach nur super, vor allem weil Sie eine andere Technik zeigen. weiter so :D
Hehe, freut mich! :)
Stephanie Kilgast // PetitPlat also bist du Deutsche? Du kannst mega englisch!

why did the bowl not adhere to the mold when you baked it? is it a different clay?
❤️❤️❤️
How do you make the blue colored molds?
with what material?
to be able to take the plate out of the mold
je veux en manger 😍😍
I love every single one of your videos. Amazing talent!!! Congratulations!
