Jacob, firstly congrats on getting yourself an intercooler after 3 years. Real talk, I get so much inspiration from your vids. I'm going to take a guess and say you're about 22 or 23 years old, your level of knowledge and passion toward your car projects is truly fascinating. Also, you have 2 cars at a young age.
Nahh for real your vids are helping me right now i have the same exact car I’m pretty sure 9-3 2003 arc 162k miles first car it’s a dawg for sure I’m trying to do everything you did for real 💯❗️
DO88 turbo intake pipe is very nice too. Great replacement for the oem plastic (that consistently breaks near the turbo). Nice to see a side by side comparison. Gotta get one of those.
Getting one myself for my 2008 V6 Aero Conv. Good job on the install! Only have a few mods myself on mine so far, incl a Maptune Stage 1. Hoping to take my son on a road trip out your way and join your group on one of your drives. :) Will slowly work on getting our 1989 SPG convertible up to snuff as well. Maybe I'll drop it off to you as a Project lol Cheers
@@AutoAutopsy It does need some love Jacob. New interior, top, etc. Edwardian grey with the 16" grey aero wheels with a polished lip. Best looking wheels for classic 900 and 9000 IMHO. The car is a converted SPG however with a red module and skirts. Please send me a text to 626 354-2238 or email to matslindroth@gmail.com so I can plan a drive out from So Cal to join your group on one of your drives. Cheers
Hi, I figured. I'm one of few who's never joined. I'll check in with someone whose on it. BTW, I switched out my airfilter this last weekend for a K&N with a carbon fibre sleave and a heatshield from Taliaferro SAAB. Nice to hear that turbo now :) Thanks and cheers
Oh thank you for confirming one thing for me its the condenser. I notice my condenser is vent exactly how yours is on the left side passenger side. I been having this weird issue of the car " overheating " in which the temp gauge stays normal temp but in the scanner it keeps rising up. Il get it fix.. Thank you and Congratulations your video made my list of Saab DIY....
The intercooler helps mines looks a bit beat up... got parts we could trade maybe I got access to alot of saabs. I'm working on 05 saab 93 linear now. Not sure how to send pics or even parts... I tested all same detail things you did and doing lot of same upgrades
@auto autopsy After a bit of a delay, car is with my mechanic right now having the TD04 and DO88 intercooler installed. My mechanic then wants to “experiment” with it to see what power he can get out of it 😉
Well, after a bit of a wait, I’ve finally got my intercooler and TD04 installed. Wow! What a difference! On paper, it’s a 30bhp increase, but it feels so much better than that. It pulls and pulls and then, just as you’re thinking “wow that’s good”, there’s a surge in power and it goes even faster. It’s absolutely incredible
Do you have a video of swapping the larger stock turbo into a 9-3? (also whats involved in re-programming fuel trims afterwards?) I had a shot to buy a 2.0T turbo awhile ago but passed because I don't have a Tech 2. :( mine is a 2.0t)
Just got one of these... a 08...I believe this will be one of my first mod's on this car....Besides a Cold Air intake and exhaust. Do you recommend a type of spark plug to upgrade to? NGK..?
Great video! I'm considering this intercooler upgrade for my '00 9-5 2.3t. Will I need an ECU tune upon install or can I run the ECU stock with the DO88? Do you think the T7 will compensate for the increased cool air mass moving through the intake?
Have 2005 Aero convertible 2.0 petrol with new intercooler ( standard) and clutch - has 3 inch maptune exhaust - car has done 103k miles - thinking about having a three inch down pipe installed and just going to stage 2 - dont want to over extend engine given mileage - any advise please ?
completely unrelated to this video but im looking for one of your old vidoes that showed how to make the boot open with a jump cord? carnt find in anywhere lol
Whats the difference between the manual do88 and the automatic ? Can I fit a manual do88 into an auto? Wondering because I found a great deal on a manual version but my car is automatic
Hey man quick question new to Saabs here would most of the stuff your putting (intercooler hoses ect) on your 03 9-3 2.0 fit on my 2005 9-3 2.0. just wondering !!
Happy to help. I can respond to messages better on Instagram, @auto.autopsy. I don’t really get notified about comments, but I can definitely help via DM’s there if you need it!
if i knew, i would've said it in the video. Do88's website has figures that can provide estimates. a tune is what really gives you the most benefit power wise.
hey man. so i don’t know too much about cars but would this fit in a 08 2.0T? would I have to get it tuned? or should I just forget about it. (it is my daily)
I disagree with the do88 cooler. Its too expensive in Europe. Ok its just like the factory with bigger plenum and full aluminium. But I think one used evo 8 cooler or one cheap chinese (same litres with do88) could make the same job. And you could put it back from the bumper . Stealth mode just like do88.

i agree about the stock intercooler, my saab 9-3 pulls way faster in winter (im from middle Europe) , i'll install this do88 soon as well
I love my do88 intercooler and bigger intercooler piping, makes a massive difference down here in Texas
Yes! Fantastic 👏🏼

best way to reach me would be via instagram - @auto.autopsy
I’m looking at one of these as the next step for my 2.3t 9-5. Either that or a bigger turbo (or both!)
Both 😉
@@AutoAutopsy well those combined should allow my mechanic to take it up to 290bhp. Considering it started life at 185, that’s not a bad increase 😊
Booked in for TD04 and the DO88 intercooler for 2 weeks time. Looking forward to seeing the difference 😉

Great video, man that was a lot of work! Take me two, three weekends at least.
Haha, thanks!
Thank you for the video. I just want to change at my Saab Torbolader and I will immediately replace the intercooler also with
Mine's in front of the AC radiator. WoHoo! MOAR HOARSEPOWER!
the condenser? true front mount; nice
Hi amazing video very informative did you have to get the upgrade intercooler mapped in as it’s bigger 🧐 or was it ok 👌🏻 😜
no tune is needed; but if you have a tune already, it is going to help with heat soak dramatically
@@AutoAutopsy that’s great I do have a tune on it so thanks for getting back 👌🏻 an keep up the hard work 👍🏻

i do for the 2.8, but not the 2.0!
I put the do88 intercooler and radiator on our 2008 2.0 b207. My gas milage is slightly worse (was 9.2, now 10.2l/100km).
Did you experience same?
Great video man.
One question: did you not disconnect the head lamp washers when you took the bumper off?
Thank you! I kept the bumper close enough by to where I didn’t have to so I wouldn’t have to lose all of washer fluid lol
@@AutoAutopsy lol. I have never seen my washers work! What actually actuates them?!
Just got one of these... a 08...I believe this will be one of my first mod's on this car....Besides a Cold Air intake and exhaust. Do you recommend a type of spark plug to upgrade to? NGK..?
Assuming you have a 2.0T, NGK BCP7ES-11 are the plugs you should run!

Thanks! You don’t need a tune, but a tune will maximize the benefits of the upgrade
I appreciate the response.
Just bought a 2002 Sabb 93 se turbo convert. Would you know if they make the same intercooler for it.Also would the Aero brakes fit a 2002
Would you be able to run the intercooler in front of the ac condenser?
i don't think so given how it mounts. I would think the ac lines would be in the way/obtrusive as well. maybe though with enough work!
Can these work for automatic transmission saabs? I have a saab 9-3 2011 automatic
I have a stage 3+ on mine at over 150k miles at it handles it like a champ :)

Lol, see here: ua-cam.com/video/FbCpjFdu1W8/v-deo.html
I need to upgrade my intercooler and radiator because the heat is just killing my transmission apparently.
intercooler wont do anything for your transmission; it only cools air going into the engine. i would try changing trans fluid too
@@AutoAutopsy I don't know why you don't understand the simple concept of reducing the heat in the entire area though.
Whats the difference between the manual do88 and the automatic ? Can I fit a manual do88 into an auto? Wondering because I found a great deal on a manual version but my car is automatic
I'm pretty sure there's not even an option to choose between manual and auto on their website. Should be identical
Hey man quick question new to Saabs here would most of the stuff your putting (intercooler hoses ect) on your 03 9-3 2.0 fit on my 2005 9-3 2.0. just wondering !!

How much horsepower increase did you gain?
if i knew, i would've said it in the video. Do88's website has figures that can provide estimates. a tune is what really gives you the most benefit power wise.
why you never put links for the parts?
The link for their website is literally at the top of the description…
Think speedpart have much of this in sweden?
do88 is located in sweden, I'm not sure about that company
I need help changing my radiator on my 2003 9-3 Saab. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice try lumping in the exhaust mod.cause you aint makin nuttin wit dat obstructive "intercooler"
Do you know if this would fit an 06?
yes.

hey man. so i don’t know too much about cars but would this fit in a 08 2.0T? would I have to get it tuned? or should I just forget about it. (it is my daily)
A tune would maximize the performance gains from it. It’s not necessary but would help. This will fit in your car.
outro haha
:)
Looks a little like a bit of a pain
That's pretty much as simple as it gets. Other intercoolers can require alot more work to install.
yeah, it's a very simple job!!

Evo 8 won't have as large as an impact. If you want the best, do88 is where it's at! :)
