Toenail Straightening Spring Clip for Curved or Ingrown Toenails

  • My wife found a toenail straightening clip on eBay about six months ago and insisted that I upload this brief video to help other people that suffer from painful curved or ingrown toenails like I did. Search for "Straighten Ingrown Toenails and Relieve Pain"
Fortunately for me my ingrown nail is long gone, but the video just shows what product worked for me and and how easy it is to clip this thing on the nail. This clip will allow the nail to grow normally without digging into your skin. From now on when I clip my toes, I clip them in a straight line so that the ends of your toe nails extend beyond the skin on the side of the nail. I had an ingrown nail on my big toe and it hurt just to look at it. My nail is now re-trained to grow straight and flat and I haven't needed to use it again since. Its easy to take on and off and you can bend the metal to the curve shape you need.
I also tried a flexible carbon fiber kind of toenail brace like NailEase or CurveCorrect that you glue on top of the nail but it would not stay on. You also might want to check into those two products because they might work for you. The metal clip rarely fell off and if it did I just found it inside my sock and put it back on after getting out of the shower. Just use it gradually and bend it as needed to increase the spring pressure as you go. I looked for years and tried several different solutions and it was nearly impossible to find this clip anywhere. This metal clip was simple to use and most important of all it worked.
If your ingrown toenail situation is too severe or painful you should get it under control first by a doctor and maybe then use the clip to retrain the curvature of the nail. In my case, the nail was dug in, inflamed and bleeding on one side only and I considered nail removal. I tried sliding a toothpick under the corner edge of the nail which provided relief but I couldn't walk around that way. I filed off a little thickness of the top surface of the nail (where polish would go) to make it thinner which allows it to straighten more easily. If your nails are brittle or cut too short you might not have enough room to clip this on. Using Oragel for a few days helped with temporary pain. It's a common sense little device and it totally worked for me.
You can perform ingrown toenail treatment yourself at home like I did but if you are having pain that is getting worse and you notice more redness and pus, it's time to go see your doctor!

For anyone wondering, this product is called 'Curve Correct', just google it and it should pop up. These are well worth every penny! I had ingrown toenails on both my big toes for over 2 years... Purchased these back in January of this year with little hope, and to my amazement I had instant relief from the pain. I just took them off last month as both toenails are finally grown out to where they should be, and they look and feel good as new. Not only do they help right away, they also literally 'fix' your nails so they continue to always grow in the correct way. Highly recommend this product!

Katie Gill , can you get them for the smaller nails?

Hi Katie thought of buying this product, before that just wanted to understand if curve correct can still be used if a person is wearing shoes for long hours. Would it be comfortable?
      Thanks!

Don't listen to Katie Gill. She, who is probably not even a real person, is scamming. I know because I wasted $50 on CurveCorrect. Number 1: the CurveCorrect braces are plastic strips that are supposed to be glued on top of the nail. What this man is showing in the video are metal clips that attach to the end of the nail, without glue. So why is Katie telling you that what he is showing in the video is CurveCorrect? Secondly, CurveCorrect is snake oil. What you get is worth no more than $5 in materials, but you are ridiculously overcharged for it, and it works very poorly -- none in my case. No matter how well I followed the instructions, the strips would not stay on my nails through one, single shower. Read the one star reviews of CurveCorrect on Amazon. I believe the positive reviews are fake, and I believe CurveCorrect is a scam. I am copying this comment to my own comment thread, because I expect "Katie Gill" will delete it from this thread.

I'm 30 and I've had this problem as long as I can remember. So far I haven't had any pain with it though. My grama had both her toenails on her big toes removed due to this and I was just waiting for inevitably the same thing to happen to me when I get older and mine get much worse. So glad to find there is a solution that may fix the problem. I will definitely check this out. Thanks for posting.

I couldn’t find these for sale anywhere, so I decided to make some from hair barrettes/ bobby pins. I made them using two needle nose pliers, nail polish remover to remove the paint, and a nail file to smooth out the sharp edges. I used it for a few hours yesterday evening after soaking in warm Epsom salt water and it really flattened out the nail. I used Goody brand bobby pins part# 01465 that I found at a local store.

I had a similar idea years ago but instead i glued a fake nail to my toe nail and put acrylic on top of to strengthen it. Within a day or two the difference was amazing.

The guy who was selling the clip is off of ebay currently. I bought one the wrong size and have emailed him to no end. There is another way to solve the problem though. Someone else is selling a plastic leaf spring that you crazy glue on and it basically does the same thing. Then when the nail grows out you just cut the spring off. That was also on ebay. Keep on doing searches for ingrown toenail and you will hit on it.
