    Cheers Ron! Thanks for choosing my battle! Hopefully some folks learned about FTEC as an option vs "Vanguard everything" 😂 🙏

    Hopefully that's a little tougher on these judges 💪

      ...one more thing I like about mid-caps is a) they don't get the attention they deserve and b) many of these stocks are one-step away from graduating to the large cap big leagues. Every single celebrated megacap stock - from Nvidia to Microsoft - was once a mid cap stock. And to me, the big money for capital growth is with smaller companies vs. chasing established giants. And I say that with all due respect to established giants. Just my two cents, Ron

      @@etfguide I agree. I'm overweighting vxf/extended market in my TSP. I was hoping to hear about xmhq, it's beaten the s&p 500 ytd, by a lot.

    My stupid self bought FTEC in early 2020 and instead of buying more, I took small gains and never bought back. That was a big mistake.

    I am going to leave a suggestion for a future ETF Battle. How about 3 ETFs that have strategies revolved around daily covered calls involving the S&P Index. These are ISPY, SPYT, and XDTE. I think this one could be a spicier showdown!!

    • @etfguide
      @etfguide  2 місяці тому +1

      ....and let me add some fuel to the fire you started, what if it was a covered call battle on different indexes vs. just the S&P 500. Think about it and get back to us on the potential ETF tickers. Thanks, Ron

    • @pregan66
      @pregan66 2 місяці тому

      @@etfguide I think that would be good as well. I would still love to know which daily covered call strategy your guests think is best between those 3. As for a battle of 3 with different indexes, how about Global X's RYLD (Russell 200), JPMorgan's JEPQ (Nasdaq 100), and Goldman Sachs GPIX (S&P 500) ? Or something similar.

    Can we add more categories dividends price tax benefit, max drawdown? Sharpe ratio. Risk PE

    • @etfguide

      I thought about this Boss, but it gets super wonky FAST. The other obstacle is time...adding more categories instantly turns this into a 25+ minute or longer show. Right now, ETF Battles was built as a shorter, hard hitting and compact analysis type of program vs. unabridged rambling. That said, programs evolve and tweaks happen, so you never know. Best, Ron

    Why not battle VGT and ARKK? I believe the so called genius of Cathie Wood would be fully exposed, and if you want a third fund, add SMH. All 3 are very different technology funds, 2 are incredible and 1 has been a disaster. Yet ARKK gets significant attention all the time and SMH doesn't get enough play. I also like MGK and MGC but this should be about ARKK and showing then gross disparity in performance.

    • @etfguide
      @etfguide  2 місяці тому +4

      I remember doing several ETF Battles with ARKK in season 2 (2022) and your battle suggestion(s) are good. Despite her recent underperformance, Cathie is still a Wall Street rockstar. She defied the odds when ARKK started and it was only a matter of time before her hot hand would cool - as it always does with any game or sport. "Today's hotshots are tomorrow's turkeys" has never been more true. Thanks for watching! Ron

    Hey Ron,
    Always appreciate the ETF battles. Wondering if one could be done on the single stock daily leveraged ETFS with comparison between Direxion and Graniteshares. Both firms/funds charge management expense ratios, but then they also payout dividends. Does this offset the costs? If so, how much should management expense ratios be taken into account when investing/trading these funds? (i.e- NVDL vs NVDU; FBL vs METU; AAPB vs AAPU; etc). From a quick view referencing Zacks, Graniteshares offers substantially more dividend yield on these, but what are the drawbacks and cons of Graniteshares vs Direxion that you market in your videos?

    • @etfguide
      @etfguide  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Z...The popularity and performance of single stock ETF has been impressive. I'm still mulling whether this could be done as an actual ETF Battles episode...one immediate obstacle is there's so many ETF tickers involved and this is definitely more of an ETF family vs. ETF family contest. I suppose we could focus a particular battle on a single stock like APPLE or NVIDIA, but involving a slew of other stock/ETF tickers gets messy fast. My gut instinct tells me your request is more of a separate episode ETF focus/comparison vs. an outright battle. Tell me if I'm wrong. Thanks for watching Z! Best, Ron

      @@etfguide thanks for the reply. It may not fit the battle criteria, but would be nice to see a discussion in a separate episode if/when time permits. ETFs are continuing to be revolutionized, allowing for easier accessible exposure to the end user in a variety of ways. Also, perhaps some warning or cautionary tales associated with these type of ETFs discussing the risks, and potential risk mitigation strategies.

    Yeah, this was boring. :) My tech and other sectors are in MGK which I've held a dozen years. I've balanced that with SPLV held the same time. It is hearing about ETFs that I am familiar with.
    My next venture is to reallocate some of my taxable fixed income from ETFs that hold Treasuries to the new Calamos ETFs that have a defined outcome range. Asset allocation dictates some fixed income in my taxable account. But the distributions mess up my plans. These ETFs might give me bond like performance but with the tax efficiency of equities.
    That is what's on my mind today Ron. Toasty warm in Western New York.

    • @etfguide
      @etfguide  2 місяці тому +1

      Dave: You're supposed to be in a "New York State of Mind" not a "Tax Planning State of Mind"...LOL. But actually, you thinking about and taking action on the tax positioning stuff that I harp about so much on this channel is right on. Tax me never is always better vs. tax me later and tax me now. The defined outcome ETFs are gonna be a HUGE DEAL and they're gonna start getting more airtime on our channel in the coming months. Be sure to check out the just released interview with Matt K. at Calamos on our June episode of First Look. Take care and stay cool! Ron ua-cam.com/video/uJOZbSq3rAY/v-deo.html

      @@etfguide Yeah, I saw the interview with Matt. He has been making the rounds and I've learned a lot and decided this would be the way to go. The needs from my portfolio are small, so the account builds up.
      I've been actively tax managing for the last several years. First selling my MFs and buying ETFs. I do tax loss harvesting when I can using individual lots.
      I'm fully into Roth Conversions now. My IRA is only 12% of mt stash, so it isn't essential but it is useful.
      Cu on the next battle. I'll bring the bandaids.
