The tonality is beautiful. I really like the natural wood dampers. subtle and nice.

Masons like this are some of the best pianos ever built! They feel as if you were speaking through the piano!

For this piano, that price is a steal Robert. Some lucky person is going to snatch it up. It's such a wonderful instrument.

Wikipedia: Mason & Hamlin was sold to the American Piano Company in 1924 (the year after this piano was made!). American positioned Mason & Hamlin as the "artist's brand" among the firm's premier lines, which also included Chickering and Sons ("family use") and Wm. Knabe & Co. ("Metropolitan Opera's favorite").
American's sales began to decline in 1928 and collapsed after the stock market crash in late 1929. Mason & Hamlin's trademark, inventory, and equipment were sold to American's competitor Aeolian for $450,000 ($7,670,000 today) while the factory buildings were sold off separately by the end of the following year.
In 1932, American itself merged with Aeolian, consolidating the control of more than 20 brands of pianos in the Aeolian-American Company. Mason & Hamlin, which had been at the former Hallet, Davis & Company piano factory in Neponset, Massachusetts, was moved to a separate plant at the Aeolian-American complex in *East Rochester, New York.* The company began sponsoring the Mason and Hamlin Prize piano competition.
*East Rochester, NY is my hometown and the vast sprawling piano factory that once turned out 30,000 pianos a year is now a mall called the Piano Works Mall.*

Mason & Hamlin were not made by Aeolian until after 1932 www.pianobuyer.com/post/an-insider-s-history-of-mason-hamlin-part-2-decline-and-collapse-1932-1989#:~:text=Although%20American%20and%20Aeolian%20were,company%2C%20the%20Aeolian%20American%20Corporation.

Yup. My Model B was made in East Rochester. IMHO it's the greatest piano in its class. Every time Robert puts up a video with a Mason & Hamlin it goes right to the top my alerts. Unmistakable sound.

Robert I have a 1980s Model A that needs a complete rebuild, but soundboard is very good. Any chance to trade that on yours?
