Pretty much everything I needed is in the rx6400. Low profile to fit in a optiplex. Less power consumption, single slot, cheaper than most cards at this price point, I'll survive with the several cutbacks coming from the rx580, but overall....I'm really impressed what this gpu can do. Feels like a stripped down 580 but with a couple of extra tweaks and features
wouldn't a 1050ti be better and cost less?

Biggest l for the 6400 is no encoding for streaming

Thanks for comparing at settings a user would actually use for these low end cards. No point in looking at Ultra settings on cards like these because they will not be playable except on older titles.
Well. About the only things the 6400 has as an advantage are chip availability and a very unusable amount of ray tracing
Also it's a lot cheaper, even when you compare it to a used 580,I say it worth it lol
Oh yeah it consume like 50+% less power so yeah
unusable amount of ray tracing if you want real time gaming, but for real time rendering looks like a good-cheap option 🤔
And the form factor. The sapphire pulse version is only one slot and 17cm in lenght, it can go anywhere especially since it draws its power from the PCIe

rx 580 is like the a10 warthog of the warplanes i still play games considerably 60-70 fps up and currently i will upgrade my system to a rx 6600 or a rtx 3050 i will retire my saphire rx 580 4gb version still loving this old gpu cards its truely bang for your buck.
same here, the best thing is you can sell the rx580 with minimum loss or even gain depending when did you buy it

Comprei a Rx 6400, estou usando em pci-e 3.0, junto com um ryzen 5 - 3400g e 12gb de ram, essa plaquinha é guerreira pra jogos em 1080p. PUBG acima dos 100fps, GTAV tudo no ultra acima dos 60fps tranquilamente, The Witcher 3 quase tudo no ultra (menos os efeitos de cabelo e quantidade de npcs), Forza Horizon 5 medio/alto. essa placa não perde quase nada de desempenho entre o 4.0 e 0 3.0, diferente da Rx 6500xt que infelizmente é capada no 3.0
vende esse 3400G e compra um 4600G, tá baratinho e vai fazer uma diferença imensa ai.

Usando 12 GB puede que tengas perdida de rendimiento en algunos juegos, no se por que pasa pero cuando he tenido una cantidad impar de modulos de ram he tenido menos rendimiento en algunos juegos.
Muy buena y ahorra mucha energía comparada con similares en rendimiento.
6400 is decent as long it could keep it under 4GB VRAM . But if you switch to to high settings, in some of these games RX 580 would have stable 30-40 FPS , while 6400 would stutter even on PCIe 4.0 system.
rx 6400 is 1080p medium setting graphics card.

@@99visionefootball Lower your expectations :D With 6400 you could get stable 30 FPS on 1080p low FSR UQ . With rx 580 you could get 1080p around 60 FPS on 1080p med with FSR UQ, or 30+FPS on 1080p high.

I mean... yes the 580 is the better card...
But the 6400 has a smaller form factor, lower power draw meaning less heat and noise plus cheaper PSU requirement means far better compatibility in custom systems. Perfect for basic 1080p gaming.

@@10percent4DaBigGuy you need to mess around with your settings in AC & CM.
@1080p 100 percent scaling I get anywhere from 100ish- 145ish fps with 1% lows at 16.68ms. Depending on the track, car, online or offline is what makes the fps so high.

Rx 580 cost rm300+ in my place, while rx 6400 is around rm 680. (we talking 2.1x Price comparison)
Judging from the perspective on this video, it feels like RX580 GPU Core speed just took half a core to beat RX 6400 full gpu core.

Yes 580 is better. But look at the repeat temperature. 14 degree Celsius higher makes it less reliable. I set my graphics temperature to 65 to make sure i don't worry about overheating because it happened twice with me.

the 580 seems to be 2 ms faster which is a big difference when one is 16 ms and the other 18, the difference between 60 fps and 50 ish fps really
Nice to have a little transition between the games. If you could just write the name of the game and settings it would be appreciated. A good bunch of people watch YT on a cellphone you know, and those game settings letters are kinda small.

Mi historia con la RX 6400 y como la obtuve es un poco complicada, pero digamos que cometi esa estupidez de comprarla hace 6 meses... Es mala grafica? Nah, es buena y en mi caso que solo juego a jrpgs, visual novels e indies me va perfecto todo a 75fps en 1080p, pero luego recuerdo lo estupido que fui por gastarme 150 en ella y quiero desaherme de ella por ese trago amargo, pero para nada es una mala grafica.
Dicho eso, estaba pensando en comprarme esta rx 580. En su tiempo fue mi sueno humedo (2017) cuando veiamos los videos de Geralt (si son viejos en estos lo conoceran). Pero viendo esto no vale la pena, ni siqueira en los juegos que le saca 10fps... Ahora bien, no se que tanto sea cierto este video ya que yo recordaba a la rx 580 mucho mas potente en su tiempo y puedo decir que mi rx 6400 no es tan potenete, almenos no en juegos AAA (aunque el elden ring lo jala a 50fps 1080p en medio, Seguire viendo videos sobre esto, pero creo que al final me quedare con mi grafica que a pesar de arrepentirme de comprarla, la amo porque todo lo que le tiro lo jala como una campeona (Mi toxica xD)
siempre es mejor irse por la 6500 pero en mi caso consegui la 6400 en oferta en 120 dolares en amazon (la version de asus que es la mas cara) y la verdad es que juego todo en esta graficam a futuro pretendo es mejorar a un 6600 pero la 6400 por ahora se defiende bien

Pra quem tem pci 3.0 ainda vale a pena pelo preço. teve promoção por 899 reais da 6400, no brasil não existe nada nessa faixa de preço com o mesmo desempenho. Melhor ainda pra quem esta montando um pc novo, muita am4 com pci 4.0 num preço razoável.

@@nothinginteresting1833 RX580 can manage to load more stuff since it's more powerful, has more VRam and the CPU is not a bottleneck, so the RX580 finish to load stuff and immediately goes to the ram asking for more information than what the RX6400 or at least that's my understanding on the matter.

@@shallex5744 its combination of clock speed, memory speed, memory type (ex: gddr6 vs gddr5), memory bus width, nm process size, memory quantity, etc.
@@mememanfresh i know memory is important, however the 6400 has double the memory speed of the 580, and a GDDR generation over the 580, which only added to my confusion. though the 580 shown here has 8GB of vram over the 6400's 4GB, not all games shown here used over 4 gigs

Many of the recent games already using more than 4GB of VRAM, that would contribute to the lower performance. As you can see in this video alone, 4 out of 8 games tested exceeded 4GB VRAM usage.
And the 6400 is only using / requiring 68W at max.
