This video just popped up … I am always a fan of chats. This one had NO ads. I was surprised and glad as I could listen without Interruption. I know Anna… I am amazed at her knowledge, and now glad to meet you! Thanks!

My grandmother used the starch residue from potatoes for laundry starch.

So happy to see you two! Two of my favorites! I’ve been watching Anna since Washington! I also love Cassandra from Becoming Farm Girl and the Kneady Homesteader! I learn so much from all of you! I started canning 25 years ago when my kids were little. Both of my parents showed me how. I was scared of the pressure canner the first time too, but my dad was there to walk me through it! My parents always canned and canned salmon and tuna as dad was a commercial fisherman. I first canned green beans, cactus, tomatoes and tomatillos, then pears, peaches, cherries, plums, blackberry juice, blueberries, and jam. I did all this the first time in one year! I have yet to can meat, that is next on my list, that and meals in a jar! Love this video!

I relate to this so much. You’re having a conversation I would be having with a friend. I hesitated to pressure can and now it feels so secure and safe to have a pressure canned pantry. And I love that you talked about lid prices which are so much rn. So a jar of $.25 beans is more like $.60. Still worth it, but also maybe worth it to buy some things on clearance too that you don’t grow yourself. I make dinners for 6 so I can mostly quarts and I usually use ingredient canning when I’m cooking and meal canning when I want a kid to “make” dinner by opening jars. Both scenarios are a lifesaver. I really feel like learning to can has saved our family in so many ways. Budget, health, time, variety, just so many things we were missing before

Sooooo glad to see you again. I thought about you and the next day l saw you had put up a new episode. Ms Leisa Sutton would chock about your "dry" canning potatoes. Stay safe and keep recording. Love your hair.

Okay, I am like you two were! I have a pressure canner, AND a water bath canner sitting in my garage right now. They have been there for at least three years! I am going to pull them out and can something. How about carrots?!

Hey young lady, great seeing you again, how's the family and homestead doing? Thanks for sharing with your friend, she's right, learn from mistakes and it's easier learning from others trials and errors lol !

I don't like small children near the stove when I'm doing any canning even after decades of canning experience.
