I’m glad to hear that this worked. Because their iPhone 8 Plus speakers really seem too suck! This seems to be a huge issue with this phone model. They should be replacing them for free imo.
I replaced my screen phone is functioning well but now the earpiece doesnt work, do you think its the new screen or did i not hook it up right
My iPhone 8 Plus recently is having this type of problem.. I could hear voice of the caller through speaker and Earphones but couldn’t hear anything when I put my phone near my ear ... Went for apple care as phone is out of warranty they told to replace at a price of 70% more than actual cost ... I don’t want to go for this ... Will there be solution of getting my iPhone 8 Plus as it is previously with minor fixing??? Awaiting your reply
Is it necessary to disconnet the ear speaker cable and disconnect the digitizer cable?
Care also telling for the above issue may get repaired with new display too but I didn’t get how ear speaker problem related to Display ... My current display is super fine .. No issue ... Provide me the solution
So the ear speaker cable has 4 components to it, the ear speaker, ambient sensor, microphone and the most important in your case, the proximity sensor. The proximity sensor is causing your issue, replacing the entire cable will fix it. Good luck. I replaced mine but it didn't work straight away, after a few hours it worked out of the blue. Very strange...
I NEED HELP, I followed your directions but in the end my ear piece speaker didnt work AT ALL yet my Camera still works. I DONT KNOW WHAT I DID WRONG
4 years too late. But i had a similar problem too. I haven't tested it out yet but upon opening my phone and diagnosed it i have come to a conclusion it's the Earpiece Speaker Flex Cable. You need to replace the whole cable in which it's merged together with the front camera. ( Yes, you have no choice but to also replace unto a new camera since like i mention before it's cable together with the speaker.) I dunno why apple design it's camera cable melted together with the ear speaker.
Hi there, thanks for the video :) I have two questions though:
1. Is it necessary to remove the screen? I don’t have a y00 screwdriver and from your video it seems like you can replace the ear speaker without the need to remove the lcd, am I correct?
2. doesn’t opening the phone disable the waterproofing of it?

1. It's possible but dangerous because you can rip a cable
2. Waterproof will be gone.
