Thing of beauty! I ve been considering a R80 for a long time. This one is another exemple of how great they can look under than hands of a good builder.
You could do this bike in your shed tho, theres nothing that would need any crazy tools. But i agree, a custom bike is one thing, but one thats been built by the owner is just that bit more special
Yes the bike looks really nice. I'm also the kind that is into classic motorbikes from the 50s to early 70s. But with a front tire that chunky, I'm afraid it will handle like crap on the road.
It's perfectly ok to ride from the small bedsit of inner London, to the nearest Pret a Manger for that spiced lentil and chickpea wrap with an iced chocolate chai latte.
From 4:07 to 4:15 the usual rocking on blipping the throttle due to the flywheel inertia effect that comes with a longitudinal crank design is apparent, but not one comment on it because it's a BMW and not a Guzzi. No one speculates on the effect on the handling (bugger all) but it's a flaw when it's a Guzzi. Strange. (To understand where I'm coming from you have to have read every journos review of a Guzzi from 1975 or thereabouts to the present day).

I noticed no effect on handling on my BMW from engine torque and suspect the same from guzzi. in the US, my home, we have "motorcycles" (I consider them to be bad jokes) called Boss Hogs that have 5.3l engines mounted longitudinally. any torque effect should lay them right on their sides if it were a real problem.
As a German who has to follow stupid exhaust noise laws, it always amazes me how you brits get away with straight-piping your machines and are allowed to go on the street with it
Awesome, I built one almost identical to that a while back. Was a great bike to ride. Here's a link if you're interested. www.wilddog.za.net/forum/index.php?topic=155939.msg3165947#msg3165947
This is trash! Hate to say, the tank isn’t standard the sub frame has been completely altered! I never get why people bastardize, a classic! Keep it standard add your creature comforts; and updates! It’s like remixing a classic song! Why???
BS, the BMW R80 was the precursor to the GS80 which won the 81 Paris-Dakar! The engine alone remained unchanged for 60 years! Not everyone wants to hop on a motorcycle and go 120 MPH! Some people just want to cruise and get to a destination with precision! Do your research!

What a fabulous bike - right up my street that one - thanks for sharing it with us!

Lovely looking machine, this looks like it's an every day bike like the tick over and the raspy note out of the pipes , well done.
Amazing bike. Steve McQueen would approve.
Love the sound from those pipes, wouldn't mind a ride like that myself, looks like it would be a fun bike to ride, very nice.

He’s got good taste. Dang he look so chill guy but just turns out to beast mode when helmets on.
Superb, stunning bike...
Absolutely beautiful
Love the bike. So simple. Less is more
If the R nine T appropriated the aesthetics of this example, I’d be in the showroom with my hard earned cash.
Precisely, when it has an old school look, and the aesthetics are right, you get the buyers.
Really a sweet motorcycle. I love it.
Wonderful, simple and wow does it sound niiiiice!
Cool factor is off the charts! Love it!
Great looking/sounding bike, really well executed....what's the helmet, Ed??

Amazing g what you can do with loads of money. Prefer the shed builds on next to no budget.

She sounds pretty good 👍
Lovely bike
Well this bike is perfect
Looking for that air intake setup, what are those manifolds and that filter?
Didn’t know Johnny Flynn was a biker. Lovely bike.
Nice looking bike👍🏼 I’m in Australia & I’m “modifying” a 2003 R1150R😉 I also have a 1980 R100s completely restored, hence my profile pic.
Like that one. Used to have boxers. Still like them.

Nicely done. If Indiana Jones had a bike it would be this one with a sidecar attached. Lol.
3:11 Awesome! Does that excuse work the cops?
Chucks out the blue smoke
Are these things ULEZ compliant? Anyone tested at all
Bloody gorgeous 👍
They have this new invention that makes riding motorcycles so very much better for your self and those around you: mufflers.
What is the height of the I mean the seat
That’s a beauty!,
Does anyone know what handlebars those are?
triumph western bars

Brilliant
0:00 - 0:14 that rhyme tho
Cool & Minimal =))
Please don’t say desert sled again 😭
Didn't know two words could become so abrasive, so quickly.
Other words to stop using: Bobber, hardtail, fender, muffler.
good good good

Sweet as,
Yes!!!!!! 👌 top
Cool!
Shame about that enormous sump
Nice bike, but that rear fender support looks tatty as fook. Should have been welded on at the end of the frame rails.
Netter Umbau mit einer Abgas Anlage was wirklich nur in England /USA gefahren werden kann und in D/A jeder Überprüfer ins Coma fällt ( Leider)
This dude sounds so much like Ewan McGregor

The exhaust just does not look good my friend. Probably should rethink this design. It’s a burner!
This is trash! Hate to say, the tank isn’t standard the sub frame has been completely altered! I never get why people bastardize, a classic! Keep it standard add your creature comforts; and updates! It’s like remixing a classic song! Why???
not exactly a classic. they were way to slow, MPG was poor and they were murder to get on the center stand.
Comparable to buying a hammer, then cutting off three quarters of the handle
So why are you looking at custom bikes anyway? Go dig up the old brochure. Have fun.
