Throw a moving blanket in your truck...they help separate the rocks from the shoulder blades. Folded up they separate the jack extensions from the knees when praying over the valley. Can you tell I'm getting old but still love working on my 7.3's?!! A bad battery connection (or separation between the right hand and brain) likely fried the starter when the chip wouldn't let it start. And yes, it's far harder than it looks to produce UA-cam videos. I have great respect for anyone who is successful at it. Trying to set up your GoPro under a truck AND actually be able to see what is being done is near impossible and all the while you want to get the job done and get out from under there. Keep up the great work!

Best work truck I ever drove 1997 f350 7.3 powerstroke turbo diesel . Had 300k+ miles , interior was almost perfect condition. Would pull a 18ft enclosed car hauler trailer loaded with commercial lawn equipment without any complaints. Could even pass people on the highway to switch lanes lol . Unloaded truck would scoot real nice .

To bad ytube doesn't send me notifications like they used to. But I guess later is better than not see you again at all. I just have to remember to keep checking your site every so often.
Thanks for an interesting video Blake. Please do more.

A little set of flex sockets may help with the cordless ratchet. Harbor Freight has less expensive sets.

Blake lucky its not a 4.5litre V8 diesel Toyota Landcruiser as the starter is located in the valley of the V on top of the block under the manifold and the injector lines.

I had one of those skid steers that quite driving on one side it had stripped out the little shaft that the pump drives and goes into the planetary. All the parts were still available from case.

I got old. Too damn old and couldn't lean over the fenders anymore. My valve cover gaskets were the original ones but at just two hundred thousand on the clock on a rig that looked like it was still new, that clean with no rust... five speed dually custom flatbed, gooseneck and the plus list just went on. I did the passenger side and only one glow plug had juice going to it so figured the drivers side must be as bad. I never liked those on the 95 models with all the different connections on them to go wrong... I'd already done the quarter under the edge deal... you know what I'm talking about...... so its hot outside, I hurt so bad just to move and working with crutches for the past ten years you would think I would of took to them better. I could start it easy enough until it wouldn't and a guy sees me trying to fix it and instead of offering to help, he offers me his rig, same year Explorer on its best day worth six or seven hundred dollars. It was too hot to fix when I could and now winter hit me hard here in alaska so when he offered I took it and the next day wanted to shoot myself.... do it slowly cause my truck not running was ten times this pile. /Sellers remorse

Have not seen much from the Guy in WY for awhile. That flex plate is going to continue to cause problems. It does not seem that the starter gear will last to long with the much wear on the starter ring. I changed the starter bendix on an ATV while trying to fix a spark issue. By the time I was done it needed another bendix. So I found a good used rotor so when I pull the rotor to change the bendix . I will install all good parts that should last for a few years. But if the starter gear cannot lock in they just grind. Thank you for another nice video.

My friends 7.3 had a TS 6 position tuner in it and the truck would randomly shut off at red lights. Always fired back up. When he removed the tuner it went away. That truck has well over 400,000 miles on it.

FYI on the DP chip, which I have on my 2001 7.3, they have a security setup that if by chance was activated it well cause a no start so the truck can not be stolen. Just going by what I saw. Good 👍 to see you making videos again, hope all is well.

There are a couple of large plugs in the wiring harness near the rear of the cab and the rear of the bed. If the fuses are good, check under the hood and the dash, I’d check those connections.
