It’s weird watching these events in chronological order since they didn’t happen in chronological order in the manga but it’s definitely a great way to experience the story and it’ll definitely give you a unique perspective over the story.

I had many naruto hiatuses in my life and the biggest of them was bridged and filled (with info and context) by Naruto UNS 3 Full burst game. And I joined everybody in finishing Naruto Shippuden around the time of Allied Shinobi forces vs The 2 Ghosts of uchiha
So those first set of cutscenes, are actually something the manga and anime wouldn't cover until years later after the beginning of the story. It's interesting to see what your guys' perspective of this story will be going at it like this.
Also, in case you didn't realize it. Obito mentioned his last name is Uchiha. Which is the same name of Madara's clan. Just a food for thought.

@@claytonclaymagic before I got my first storm game I was reading everything on the wiki. I really liked the geopolitics of naruto, compared to other anime where you don't really have an Idea of where you are, who is in this world, what countries are there, etc.

I'll let you with a few bits of extra information (which are not mentioned in the video) so you can understand some things a bit better:
- Kakashi is so fond of the rules because of his father, Sakumo. Sakumo was a great ninja. During one of his missions, Sakumo's comrades got captured, and he prioritised rescuing them instead of completing the mission. Even though he successfully rescued them and completed his task, he was ostracised by his fellow ninja (even by the ones he had rescued) for not following the rules. In the end, all of it caused him to commit suicide. Kakashi was only 4 years old (I think) when that happened. That is why he always tries to follow the rules no matter what.
- Minato (the sensei of Kakashi, Obito and Rin) has a teleportation technique. He marks things (like Kakashi's back in the clip) and teleports to them when he wants to. He has marked all of his kunais (his "ninja throwing knives") so that he can throw them and then teleport to them. He is such a talented ninja that he has been named "The Yellow Flash of the Leaf" and he is known in many nations.
In the show, in the battle shown in this video in which Kakashi is cocky and launches an head-on attack against a Rock ninja, Minato ends up saving the day by rescuing an injured Kakashi and killing the enemy. In the show, when this Rock ninja sees Minato, he states that the leaders of his village ORDERED each and everyone of their ninjas to rapidily flee the moment they caught sight of Minato. That's how badass Minato really is. Now, I don't know what things will be coming up in the next video, and I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't tell you more about him for now. I'll let you discover how awesome he is on your own 😉 (It's plain to see that he is my favourite character 😅)

Same meaning, but i prefer that line over: Someone who doesn't care about their friends are even worse.
Rin is the one that held the team together and wants everyone to get along and like they mentioned she is the medical ninja of the group so she heals and provides support for Team Minato. As for Hashirama and Madara, for more context before they founded the Leaf Village their two clans in the past were in a war against each other for generations and they were the the most powerful clans of the ninja world. The Senju Clan and the Uchiha Clan, eventually Hashirama and Madara became friends without knowing their clan origins during the war and became rival and friends. However at some point the leader of both their clans discovered their location and revealed the identities of the two friends, for Madara he couldn’t believe he made friends with the enemy side and he decided he will do what he must to beat his enemies, even a friend. While Hashirama didn’t understand the need for the fighting and bloodshed and strived to be powerful enough when he was older to stop the war. After they are grown into young adults eventually Madara and Hashirama’s friendship is what influenced the end of the war between clans and create peace while Hashirama convinced Madara like you saw to enact their dream of a united village of different clans. Even with the brightest of intentions, the different clans of the Leaf village still held some reluctance towards the Uchiha since they killed so much of the Senju and were a past enemy of other clans too so a lot of villagers were still wary of them. Despite these problems Hashirama tried hard to make Madara Hokage(leader of the leaf) since he believed he was more responsible and strategical as a leader but the villagers with their reluctant acceptance of the Uchiha still couldn’t be positive to give the Uchiha Clan Leader leadership of the village so they voted for Hashirama who was more respected, kind, and out going for the Hokage position. I’m not going to say much but something on the stone tablet you saw in the cutscene changed Madara’s perspective of the world and to fight against it. After their countless fights eventually Hashirama narrowly won their final battle and learned that a leader must being willing to give their all in protecting peace and the safety of the village to protect the future of the village. Many decades have passed by since the time of Hashirama and as you saw there is some faces on the wall when showing the Timeline of Team Minato, the first face being Hashirama, the Second being Tobirama( Hashirama’s brother who Madara mentioned and someone who despises the Uchiha), and Hiruzen (student of Hashirama and Tobirama). Since the fall of Madara, the world has experienced two Ninja Wars between different Hidden Villages including the Leaf Village, and Team Minato is living through the Third War.
Just a side note but after Hashirama and Madara first made the Leaf Village they inspired other great nations to create their own Hidden Villages and the main ones are: The Stone Village( Some of their ninja were fighting Team Minato this vid), the Sand Village, the Mist Village, and the Cloud Village. Each village also has their own color for their ninja uniforms, Leaf with green, Stone with red, Sand with a sandish color, Mist with blue, and Cloud with white. Hope this context helps and can’t wait for more Naruto reactions

33:20 Bethany - I have no idea why the American voice actors kept enunciating Rin as Reeeen but in the original Japanese version it's spoken as it's written, Rin. You're not saying it wrong 👍
There are different pronunciations for "Rin". Since its a unisex name, for a Japanese girl you would pronounce it as (Reen). For a Japanese boy, it would just be (Rin).
Because they're saying it correctly, Rin's name is supposed to be pronounced Reen.

I feel bad the game leaves some stuff out that would of made it so much more emotional . Kakashi has a whole backstory about his dad and why he follows rules and obito brings his dad up before leaving it’s really deep
Some people told us about that backstory and it’s incredibly sad 😭 we know we won’t get the full experience watching it this way but also knew we didn’t have the 1000 hours to spend right now watching the series so this is a happy medium 🤗

This is about to be so good! Normally it would start with Naruto but whoever made the vid decided to start from the very beginning which is still gonna be great either way.

These cutscenes display the time before Naruto himself appears...Minato(the blonde haired teacher of Rin, Obito and Kakashi) is not yet given a special cape that symbolizes he's now the leader of the village, Kushina(Minato's wife, the lady with red hair) is not yet pregnant and the stone faces are not carved in at this time period. Watching the story of Naruto in chronological order is an interesting choice. For someone like me who has already seen everything, its cool to experience it in a different way.
But for them, who know next to nothing... I feel like certain moments will be significantly less impactful. I wouldn't say that having all this prior knowledge RUINS things, it just creates a different perspective.
The story is great overall, so I'm sure they'll enjoy it regardless tho.
It’ll change things for sure but this is already an unconventional way to check out the story and we actually had no idea going into this that this was done chronologically 😅
Naruto will always have some of the best anime openings and cool special moves.
Naruto as a show might seem huge and like it will take ages to watch, but that's not really the case, watch the first 19 episodes, like 1 per day, and after that if you aren't hooked by the narrative and characters, then it's fine to drop the series and watch it through cutscenes if you want, but if show hooked you by the end of 19th episode, i can only say that it becomes even better.
Storm games aren't the best example of "Naruto Story", sure they highlight some of the story, but they're restricted by their limitations, such as engine, scope, etc. It's not the best idea to learn about Naruto just from the games. In this example it is given in a weird order, like starting with Madara/Hashirama backstory is though chronologically make sense, it is also something that is only relevant really by the end of the story, jumping then ahead to Kakashi Chronicles isn't the worst option, but it somewhat spoils parts of the story, from minor ones, like where Kakashi got his code from, to more important bits, most of all this order creates an issue of dumping a lot of terms and lore on viewer/player without explaining much, as games expect you to be the fan of Naruto and knowing those things already, all of that even before you actually are introduced to the character of Naruto.
There is a reason Kakashi is such a stick about the rules. I'm not sure if it's in these cutscenes, so I won't spoil anything, but it's more than just a desire to be the best possible shinobi.
Im impressed with whoever put this mini series in order like this. Looking forward to more of these❤

So about the group dynamic. Rin always seems to be the peacekeeper the one that wants them all to get along! or the one that one that tries to compromize. so without her it all falls apart due to the other two being polar opposites! At least i think thats what they are going for.

Naruto is hands down my favorite series. Animated or not. The world they built, the history behind it all. The way all the characters are intertwined with one another is amazing. I love all the Hindu, Buddhist, and Shinto inspirations. While I get while you are watching this like this. I'd really reccomend watching the show itself in your spare time.

I used to keep up with Naruto manga, but i had to stop for silly fan reasons. I'm glad to have this opportunity to look back at the series, see what i missed, maybe give the series another chance

35:31 1st Hokage's name is Hashirama
This shouldn't' be a bad way to experience Naruto's story but keep in mind this compilation is in chronological order. The actual manga/anime jumps around in the timeline a lot. So you are being exposed to story elements way earlier then you were suppose to be. You haven't even gotten to actual beginning of the series yet. This is still a good way to experience the story without watching the entire 720 episode anime. Though you can get that episode count down to 425 episodes without filler. Still a massive commitment though.
You missed out on Kakashis reason for following the code so much.
Long story short Kakashis father was an accomplished Ninja who broke the rules and failed and a mission to save a friend. The village and Ninja society thus ostracised and harrased Kakashis father for that decision. So he took his own life. Orphaning Kakashi

Interesting to see how ALL the cutscenes from storm will tell the naruto story (they usually capture most of it).
I still think watching the show is the best way to capture the emotion behind the anime. But this is still very good! I cant wait to see the other parts

After finishing this, if you're curious about Guts and Berserk. TheAlmightyLoli made a titan of video of 21h about Berserk about the whole story. It also exist in shorter video formats, one for each arc
This seems to be covering the story of Naruto Chronologically within the canon of the story, rather than the way the audience views it. Because pretty much all the scenes so far have been things that weren't seen until MUCH later in the story when Kishimoto (the person who wrote Naruto) started telling stories in the past of the Naruto world through flashbacks. The actual story, as told in the manga and anime, starts with a brief scene during Naruto's birth followed by a time skip to him being about 12 years old. Then a lot of this other stuff was filled in later. We don't even learn with certainty who Naruto's mother and father are until at least halfway through the story, although it is heavily implied through other characters.
The Wood Golem swinging around the Kyuubi should make you in awe and wonder at just how strong Sage Mode can make you if Naruto was able to do that on his own, without any giant construct help (Even if Kurama was only at 50% his normal size at the time, he's still the size of a normal Tailed Beast (meaning at 100% his normal size, he is 50% bigger than all the other Tail Beasts!)). 😂
The Flying Thunder God Jutsu (aka Flying Raijin Jutsu or Hiraishin no Jutsu) is a scary technique. And Minato improved and perfected it, made it versatile. All he needs is a single touch, no matter how short that touch is and you are marked for as long as he wants you marked. Once you are marked, he can teleport to you no matter where you are because he can sense his mark and teleport directly to it. Minato's reaction time is also faster than Lightning, but not quite Lightspeed, so unless you are faster, you won't beat him.
And the sad thing is, when he died (him and Kushina), they were only in their early 20s (I think they were 23?).
kakashi's father the white fang was a hero for the hidden leaf he failed 1 mission and was totally outcasted so he killed himself thats why kakashi is fucked up a bit about the rules...
The cutscenes are out of order compared to the show. It's playing in chronological order instead of anime order so you get the backstory first, including some show spoilers that are revealed a lot later, in the order in which they happen in the timeline.
there's a reason why kakshi is so strict, make sure to check it out (his father's story)

I know you might not read this but it's VERY IMPORTANT context. Kakashis dad failed a mission to save his friends, his comrades. He saved their lives, and he lost all honor and ended up offing himself.
To kakashi, if he fails the mission, he deserves to off himself.

keep in mind rin isnt a woman she is a child so dont give her wisdom even kakashi who is in the same level of their teacher but shown to be too immature
It's interesting that a lot of characters in the show formed their personalities based on their childhood traumas. Naruto wanted to be Hokage to be acknowledged since he was shunned and ostricized by his village for having a demon fox in him.
Sasuke wanted to cut his bonds because those bonds made him vulnerable especially family like bonds, something he was serverly traumatized by when his whole clan was massacred, Kakashi was a stickler for rules because his own father broke them to save his comrades, leading to him being shunned by the village leading to his father's shame and eventual suicide
Hashirama was willing to protect the village at any cost as a surrogate to how he wasn't strong enough to protect his siblings and parents who were killed by the Uchiha and Madara was willing to do anything to bring actual sustainable world peace for eveyone, literally giving everyone exactly what they want so that they could die living happy and fulfilling lives, as a surrogate to how he wasn't strong enough to protect his sibling and parents that were killed by the Senju.
In the end, Sasuke & Madara were right as we see in Boruto.
I recommend watch the anime show it’s good. Watch Naruto then shippuden

the reason kakashi prioritize mission above all because his father failed a mission when he choose to save his team. the village brand him a failure and he killed himself out of shame
Tobirama was very anti-Uchiha. In fact, the fall of the Uchiha Clan in Naruto's time can be traced back to the actions of the second Hokage.
It's... a bit disappointing watching Naruto this way. A lot of the emotions when you find out information is kind of sucked out. When watching the anime, the first thing you see is Naruto being ostrasized, hated, and him being the class clown to get any type of attention. And is tricked easily into committing a crime because he thought if he did it people would like him, and you see a teacher being the first one to protect him and believe in him. His journey in the beginning was just trying to prove himself. And slowly the show fills you in (more in Shippuden than the original series) about the sins of the past passing down to the younger generations. Nothing was more depressing than seeing Naruto putting on a smile while inside he was terrified that if he messed up, the entire village would hate him again. Or when he fell into a depression after his mentor passed, or how desperate he became throughout the series blaming himself for his friend leaving. I get the show is long, but I did think it was worth it.

The second arc was also trash and everything I watched up to like ep 80 was trash no matter how hard I tried to like it, Boruto truly leaves a bad taste in the mouth of most Naruto and Shippuden fans
I know I'm late, but Kakashi is the way he is about the Ninja code as a child because his father broke the code & was shunned ect because it. The last speech from Obito was what eventually changed him & became what he lived by.

I see you have a problem saying rin, ignore the English pronunciation of it, it sucked plain and simple
Some older anime pronounced in English Sakura like Sacura even though that's not how you pronounce say a cheery blossom tree in Japanese
The best advice for foreign names and words especially oriental ones is to pronounce them with say the beliefs that long vowels NEVER exist, it helps to be accurate with most names and words

Hashirama is inherently flawed.
He says he'll do anything to protect the village
He gave out the giant demon animals to all the surrounding villages
Causing far worse death during the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shinobi wars then if he never captured the demons in the first place
Which I will point out the beasts never had violent interactions with normal people till after he went around enslaving them, all because hashirama couldn't accept their existence.
He could have EASILY joint rule the village with Madara but decided to be all wishy washy and let the village make him the sole leaderwhich led to their final battle
Knowing that the Uchiha would be difficult without Madara and his brother hatred for the Uchiha he still made his brother the next leader before he died
His brother the second hokage after the first death death, made the Uchiha life difficult his entire reign, isolating them and forcing the entire clan to live in their own separate district and various other things
This is just a follow up on one of the previous things I said but capturing the tail beast led to the creation of jinchuuriki
Naruto of all the current generation jinchuuriki had the most comfortable life, heck even his mom had it worse being an outsider in a new village and country and having her entire nation wiped out, EVEN then it's a rough existence
Over 100 years, 9 different biju and who knows how many containers with rough lives during that time.
Just giving my reasons why that final battle made me dislike hashirama.
This author doesn't really know how to write female characters. They're basically all tokens.
Got excited, but I checked out the original video and I doubt this is worth it. It is a deeply watered-down version of Naruto. It has lesser voice acting, a lesser original soundtrack, the pacing is horrible. The story is put in chronological order of the events happening in the universe, which destroys the narrative and its reveals and surprises. I mean, you don't even get to meet the main character until 2 and a half hours in... But the worst of all is how low the energy is throughout the whole thing. Like the thing was dead.
Literally, every single aspect of it is lesser. I do not recommend watching 21 hours of this soulless, mind-numbing version.
