Eggs-zactly!!! Why did he feel the need to explain the bag to that guy at the audition ? Let him call or think whatever he wants, who cares ? It’s like trying to be cool for people … why ? What do you win ? Beside the same people saying you’re cool are the same people ready to believe any bad rumors about you and spreading those rumors because …get this… they are jealous of popular you are … it’s like buying a cake for a party then be jealous that people are enjoying the cake .

@@UriosEditz I just want them to realize that they are committing ethnocentrism and being brainwashed when they label “ wrong” anything that is contrary to the usual. Notice I said “ contrary to the USUAL” I did not use the word “ norm” but instead use “ usual” . Because to call anything “ norm” means that you are part of the brainwashed. I’ll give you an example : men wearing man buns … would be classified as “ wrong” according to that same mentality… my thoughts on it ? I will ask the same question, why is it “ wrong “ ? The only people that would have the right to criticize it are professional fighters because it constitutes a vulnerability ( it can be grabbed by the opposing fighter ) however if you’re a regular man and want to enjoy having a man bun before you start losing your hair, why deprive yourself of that experience just because some will call it “ wrong”? Life is too short for all this.

I think the lesson here is “ no need to explain your choices to everyone “ Joey did not get the audition because he felt the need to explain the bag. People that make assumptions do not like to be told that they are wrong.
or maybe deep down he knew it was wrong and was extremely defensive when questioned about his "man bag" being a purse. thus he didnt get the job for attacking someones opinion.

If it How come it is ok for Scottish men to wear one for ceremonial purposes ? Do you see my point ? A certain group decided that it is wrong and all of a sudden everybody goes along with it without even stopping to ask why ?

This episode was made before the woke time we live in today. Joey didn't get the audition because they were looking for an actor who acts and looks like a straight man.

i think it really matters HOW you carry what you carry. I think when joey walked in for the part, he should have placed the bag somewhere first instead of keep wearing it when he was auditioning, itd have made it look more casual and that'd have helped cuz he looked good and if he had auditioned right the audition guys might have seen meaning/confidence in that bag if even they were to notice it. When you know you're doing something majority dont get,you have to be more confident (and casual in a way) in it and joey was self-conscious so he began to explain. The former case wouldve maybe even charmed the people around him and shown some personality. It's like either you win or them and the moment you begin to show concern about how they feel about it, they'd judge you instead of being influenced by you. You've to be more assertive.
The U-N-I sex joke is why this show always maintained its quality. ☑️

Its not that we need to be more "careful" with comedy nowadays. It's the fact that things aren't like they used to be anymore. Back then the thought of a man with a purse was laughable because of how uncommon it was. Nowadays gender is more expressive and people are becoming more open minded so its not as weird to see a man with a purse as it use to be. Its how the comedy is being portrayed that we need to consider. Jokes like this wouldn't really fit in today's times because of how people are growing to expect seeing these kinds of things in everyday life now. Another factor that could be happening is people may get angry when they feel like others are mocking their behaviors and just making a joke out of it instead of taking it seriously.

Whats interesting is it wasn't ok at first because he thought it was a woman's bag. Then Rachel went inside the catalog to find examples of men with the bag to make it ok. What changes by seeing another man with that bag? So it's only ok if another man is seen using one? Why can't Joey be the first? I mean somebody has to. If not Joey, then it would've been the men in the catalog. What if they would've reacted the same way Joey did, needing to get approval to use the bag by seeing other men first? Somebody always has to be first when doing something. Just because something hasn't been done already doesn't make it too late
