I went to Tai O for a class trip two years ago, and we were lucky enough to spot the pink dolphins during our boat ride! 🥰 Keep doing these types of videos, it really makes me happy to see a UA-camr here in Hong Kong, it’s amazing to see how there’s so much to HK than just a busy city centre👾
that Tai-o donut looks a lot like a german Krapfen- a seasonal pastry for christmas time. I love it . airs sugary crunchy on the outside and somewhat moist dow on the inside but in very thin sheets, like it bubbled on the inside .
Your travel vlogs really are so well done. You not only discover the place, but also the people who live and work there every day. Also the history and the future, your videos make me so inspired 🥰

My husband and I grew up loving Chinese cinema and have been studying Wing Chun on and off for the last 5 years. Our Sifu is from Hong Kong originally, and I though I love all of your vlogs, your Hong Kong vlogs are extra special because they give me a better window into his culture. The first year we were students, Sifu took our class to Chinatown in Chicago. We started the day off with Dim Sum, where he would send out various dishes to different tables and joyfully watch us try them. We visited the tea shops, and he also went to an herb shop to gather dried herbs for Dit Da Jow. That day was one of my favorite memories, and my husband and I would love to be able to travel to Hong Kong one day. Anyway, I had been to Chinatown before, but that day we had a special vantage point of really seeing the heart of Chinese culture. I don't think there is enough of a focus on that, the hearts of the people. Thank you for doing that so wonderfully!
I just realized why everything looks so fresh to me because when I visited HK, I only saw buildings but this video made me see HK in a new landscape. So refreshing!
I so appreciate the availability and quality of your closed captions. Even as a native English speaker without a hearing disability, I love using them to make sure I'm getting every word. The extra time you put into getting them right, instead of just letting them auto-generate, is very obvious and appreciated.
I have to say your videos on the slice of life of Hong Kong are incredible! I never heard of this before and I feel like you really capture the heart of the people. Thank you for much for the education and entertainment!!! Love you gal!
wow… just wow… Taylor, this series is amazing. the details, the framing of each clip, the stories of HK and its residents. it’s clear that a lot of love and hard work has gone into it, and I can’t wait to see more!
This is so good! You integrated the present and the history of Tai O, and even deep down to residents’ connections with the place. Your angle and understanding of the local culture as a foreigner staying in HK gave you insights to see Hong Kong in a more interesting viewpoint :)
I don't know why but this documentary vlog just made me very emotional. Maybe because the way you show us those beautiful places with a lot of history and very kind local people, just touch me more than regular vlogs about people visiting places and shops but not socialising with the (local) people and owners of those places and shops. Taylor, your videos are seriously so impressive. I’m sure plenty of people would still watch your videos if you just showed us the pretty surroundings and yummy-looking food, but you always go above and beyond to connect with the locals and learn deeply about the places you go. So many touching stories and passionate people we are shown through your videos. Great job 👏🏽
Aaaaaaaaa i wanna go back to Hong Kong so bad 😭 literally the first country i visited outside my own and is still my most favorite place on earth. I hope to get the chance to visit HK once again and maybe a chance to meet you when it's already safe. Stay safe and healthy, Tay 💛 Rooting for you always!
I love that you had the people of Tai O speak for their city, instead of only sharing your impressions and the history. What a beautiful place with such kind people! They will make a great life for themselves
Really good video! I never knew communities like this existed near HK. That’s really unfortunate they don’t let people build more homes or sell but I guess it also keeps cost of living down if rich people can’t start moving in and turning the stilt house properties into Airbnbs or vacation homes. Seaside communities have the best food too. I wonder why they don’t build the houses higher if there’s risk for periodic flooding.
When you where enjoying the sunset at the beach and La vie en rose started playing… that was such a beautiful moment, it made me cry.❤️ Great content, thank you!💕
As an ABC (American Born Chinese) to Cantonese immigrant parents, this is so appreciated to know my parent's culture. I love how you are able to give history, food & culture of Hong Kong, past & present! I can't stop watching your videos! 🤩
I loved this video so much. I learned so much about Tai O. These people have bounced back from the worse and made their homes and lives better. I hopethese city stays strong and the government continues to support this city. I hope I can visit this place. Thank you Taylor for sharing this, it was truly fascinating to watch.
My dad is from HK, but I was born in UK. My family and I came here before many times on holiday but I never properly knew this place. In 2019 I moved here with my partner for work, and as we freely explored HK I fell in love with its culture and juxtaposition of city and nature. It's great that HK is small enough so that it doesn't take long to travel to different parts. We spent one night in Tai O a few months ago and it's amazing and kinda surreal to see all the same sights in your video! :) I saw all the stilt houses, stray cats, artwork, I ate the same mango "tong bat lat 糖不甩"! We are both vegan, so we walked a bit further (along the promenade bridge) to a nearby village where there are 2 vegetarian restaurants there. Finally, I just want to thank you so much for making these incredible videos about HK because it's an amazing place. I used to think I should make videos about HK but you've covered that. 😆 You've really captured the beauty of HK! I think it's especially important to record and showcase what HK is like. I actually get emotional sometimes thinking that the HK that people love may be changing someday... So many people have fled or are fleeing HK because they think the future is bleak here. 😥
taylor is always serving us travel channel vibes and entertaining vlogs, while simultaneously being a lifestyle channel that teaches us beauty, fashion, and how to cook 😂 every video i feel more blessed and cultured
I was so lucky to visit Hong Kong and Tai O back in 2018 for my illustration degree at university. Watching this video made so many memories flood back! We sat in Solo cafe- the owner has a sketchbook you can sketch and draw in when you visit! So that's my mark I left in Tai O :) Thank you for sharing your time in Tai O with us Taylor!

Folks in Tai O seem so chill, friend and warm people. The gentle man was right. In city side it's work, home and shut the door 😭. I recently started talking with mu neighbors in elevator and some times when we are closing the doors and it feels much better NGL. A bit of communal spirit is very important for well being aswell. Definitely planning a trip there.
Literally the most genuine and heart melting travel vlog video ive ever watched! I love the way you travelled slowly, enjoyingly, respectfully and curiously to the local culture! Throughout the video can obviously be felt that you did not try to monetise your vlog to sell anything to the audience, but genuinely enjoy the place, its vibe, its local food and its warm people! I truly love this vlog Taylor ❤️!

I kinda miss your more personal videos but one thing I noticed is how hard working you are Taylor, the only youtuber who puts soooo much effort into their videos
Please keep making these! it's always the highlight of my day when I get to watch these. It always makes me want to be like these people and be a blessing to the community. Love you and your content
Ahhhh, so happy for this upload. I love how you are able to connect with locals and share their experiences with us.
It’s my first time leaving comment on your channel. I can feel the heat & humidity from the screen and i understand how much effort you’ve put in. Thanks!
As a CBC with parents from HK, this channel really brings back a lot of memories from when I would spend my summers in hk 🥺 please keep making these videos, they are such gems on UA-cam ❤️
Constantly impressed with how the professionalism of these videos has grown while still keeping the heart and goofiness that is you- the light and energy that local people respond to because your curiosity and joy is so genuine.
This town really made me so emotional because it's the life I've been searching for 🙏🏻
This is one of the best videos I have have seen in a long time. Not just from you but just in general. Welcome back Tay! I missed this content so much.
Sometimes I can't believe your content is free because this quality can't be found anywhere else on UA-cam. Please keep it up, we will continue to support it!

Dear god... Every time I watch a video of you visiting places I feel like I am the person traveling and not you. Thank you so much for this type of content, it is so wholesome that it made me cry several times!
You have always been good but these videos about different aspects of old HK are wonderful, so interesting and engaging. Miss vlogmas in Toronto but these are on a whole new level. Thanks!
Thank you so much for making these types of videos!! Not being able to travel back to Hong Kong makes me very sad but watching your content of exploring HK makes me feel so much better! Plz continue this series...I love it~
Finally my wait is over… been waiting for Taytay new videos for weeks 😢
It brings me happiness, watching the beautiful land, shops, foods, people’s 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love this! What a hidden gem! I would never know about these places if it wasn't for people like you and Norm from Tokyo lens!
Norm makes great videos! 😍
Every documentary video you make about Hong Kong makes me wanna visit more. These are my absolute favourite of yours
