Tuomas is right, Nightwish has been a story of epic progression. Nothing is repetitive and it just keeps expanding. Each of the singers has brought something new to the table and Floor captures the best of all of it. It's the Greatest Show on Earth period!!

This probably is an extremly unpopular opinion, but I liked Imaginaerum and Endless Forms Most Beautiful best.
I really enjoyed the somewhat abstract and dreamy topics of Imaginaerum (theatre und circus), but I connected on such a deep level with Endless Forms Most Beautiful because I'm a scientist myself. The theme of EFMB is basically Evolution - The Musical and is showing the beauty of life and our (godless) origins and our inevitable fate here on earth. Some of the songs have me still in tears when I hear them (Our Decades In The Sun, The Greatest Show On Earth).

Imaginaerum is hands my favorite album, it cemented Nightwish as my all time favorite band and it is what pushed me past my missing of Tarja. Floor is one of the best things to happen to the band and she was amazing on EFMB. It is my honest opinion that her renditions of past songs surpass the originals, seeing her perform Stargazers live was almost life changing.
Those two are my favorite albums as well ^^
Nightwish will always be one of the best metal bands ever, even they don't play with Tarja anymore, the soul of this band never was lost and never will be!!!
Nathan Jolly what that you said were perfect!! I think in the same way, the melody that he creates, the harmony, the lyrics, and the poetry that he makes is so great!!! I think the majesty of Nightwish will never be over! Every single line of the lyrics move you to a different history, and this is so wonderful and ever will be!!!
Ghost Love Score is still the song to beat imo. As much as I love The Greatest Show On Earth. :)

Nightwish, did anyone else notice the double guitar solo on the Decades album, "End of All Hope [Remastered]"? 3:05 and 3:17. 3:14-3:17 sound like something got pasted in the track during editing.

Nightwish died to me after they fired Anette Olzon. I believed them about Tarja. I can't keep believing them when they keep firing their vocals.

Note: I have been listening to Nightwish for over atleast 9-10 years so I'm not saying this lightly.
i do believe floor jensen is the right choice for them, she does highs, mids, lows, has prefessional metal background, does growls and has a easy going personality. i really like tarja era album and i believe choosing anette is a very bad choice, as her voice did not fit their (at the time) power metal style, and lackluster in terms of depth. i always felt like anette was a bit greedy. i dunno, just instincts. i really do hope with floor jensen they bring back the old school power metal, as unlikely as that is. you can always enjoy their new song, if its any good, no one resist quality music. tarja getting fired was just a tragedy, anette was inevitable and hopefully nightwish dont do a nightwish and somehow falls out with jensen.
