AKRAPOVIC TITANIUM exhaust upgrade Ducati Pikes Peak 1260 with comparison to stock

Lets review the full titanium Akrapovic exhaust system (de-cat) for my 2019 Ducati Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak, with comparison to the stock exhaust system with catalytic converter. This Akrapovic system is made up of two parts - the titanium de-cat headers/link pipe (replaces everything except a few inches of the top of the rear cylinder header), and the titanium slip-on muffler. Both can be purchased separately so you can opt for just the slip-on and use that on the stock catalytic converter. Of course, to truly release the savage sound of the 1260 motor, you'll need to remove the cat.
*Note: The stock Termignoni slip on won't fit onto the Akrapovic headers without an adapter due to the larger pipe diameter of the headers.
No baffle used in this video (one is included with the system), and no changes to fuel mapping. The engine runs fine, but does pop on overrun and high RPM quick shifting (which I like). No servo buddy type dongle is needed, the Akrapovic cat-delete header system includes a mechanical sleeve doodad to attach to the flapper valve servo cable and prevents error codes. Install took 1.5 hours.
Akrapovic has done dyno testing and claims power +4.4 kW (5.9hp) at 3250 rpm; torque +13.3 Nm (9.8 lb-ft) at 3250 rpm. While I cannot confirm their numbers, my butt dyno does feel a smoother and earlier power delivery especially at the bottom end which corresponds to their claims.

If you don’t reflash the ECU, the popping sound which is actually missfire, part of it in the intake will eventually dammage the map sensors and the bike will run horrible( I have a 2014 pikes peak, ran into the dame problems, the popping sound will become louder and more frequent and mess up the sensors, Rexxer does a great job on the ECU)
Good one man! I went exactly the same path on my 1200s DVT in the last 2 years - First got myself a Termi slip-on (regret doing that) and then the Akrapovic FS! Absolute character after that!

Music to my ears! I did the full termi with map update. Changed the whole bike. Shop weighted the cat, 14.8lbs... enjoy! She's a beauty!
acrapovic is not Italian its slovenian in case you dont know..

The original is better sound! Put that akrapovic in bmw S1000rr, M1000rr 2021 or Honda cbr 1000 rr fireblade sp 2020 and new 2021. Than you will see the difference not that bike 😂😂😂

Hello, do you still ride that bike? Do you still ride it without dynotune/ecu flash for that straight pipes? Any issues? I am just choosing between your setup and full Termi in titanuim.

I have the Akra can and Leo Vinci mid pipe- no map installed, although I have the RB waiting patiently in the box.
I personally think my bike needs a tune after this exhaust setup was installed.

can it be used with pillion pegs ? By the way there is something wrong with the mapping as its back fires very badly. Every quickshift sounds like the bike exploding like a two stroke. Good sounding exhaust but definitely needs mapping.
how has it held up? I'm running the Arrow, the decat pipes broke at the weld, looking to replace with either the Termi or Akra pipe.

You have to do a flash. At least a base tune for an exhaust. It’s so bad for the motor if you don’t.
Sounds awesome did the same to my enduro 1200 with the Akraprovic plus I added rapid bike an the quick shifter and dyno tune that stopped popping goes hard enjoy the bike good video
Nice. It does have a more aggressive exhaust with your upgrade. It would be even better if the difference was more noticeable.

Actually, I would do the mapping even if it is for a casual use. The map is not only for perform, it's for better consumption and fuel mix. With the warranty it would be even better with the maps since it is the oficial Akra for this bike. With no mapping, they could says that "without the map the bike suffered more than it should be"

Did a similar conversion on mine recently with the Leo Vince decat and end-pipe kit, with similar sound results. I love the sound, (especially from the rider's seat) but I think it's more like that gruff, functional bellow of a Veyron or new Ford GT than something musical like a Ferrari or sweetly bassy like a two valve Duc.
How did you remap with the Leo so that you didn’t get a code?
Do you know what the difference in performance between the Termi full and your set-up? Cheers
