This was an unexpected video, because Danny doesn't really talk a lot about the grading community. It was very exciting to watch all the cross-grades! I am even more excited for my first PSA submissions to finish grading, I'm gonna try and use PSA's Vault for safe storage! Thanks for the content Danny!
I love grading. I’m collecting with a 10 year old so it helps protect the big hitter cards. We bought a 30 card display case to keep ourselves in check. We sell off the graded cards that he doesn’t deem case-worthy and those sales fund our future purchases. Plus he absolutely loves getting the cards back and finding out the grades. It’s just as exciting as opening packs.
I only collect raw cards that I like. They're stored safely, and I can look at them without a plastic cover, if I choose to do so. IMO grading always comes with the intent to sell and I'm not in the hobby to flip cards.
The best case for grading cards would be passing them down to your heirs when you pass. Unless you know your heirs will be able to sell them for what they are worth and retain the high quality condition...
Not always. I have a Gold Star Rayquaza and 2 Gold Star Charizards that all graded at 3 or less. I couldn’t care less if they were 1s or 10s, but to prevent further damage or degrading, I had them graded. You can only take them out of a binder so many times before they get some sort of damage. If you don’t take them out of your binder, or have them in penny sleeves/toploaders, they may as well be encased since the cases are super clear when taken care of.
@@Mr.MimeisFrench my kids and I regularly look over my collection. They will get them once I'm gone and part of the memory will be flipping through the binders and arranging the cards together. Having them all slabbed in a case would not be the same.
I always find it amazing to see the difference in price in a PSA 9 vs PSA 10, because PSA 9 cards are almost always really clean! Edit: so many awesome cards 🔥
A lot of times you can crack the 9 resubmit to psa and get a 10. Which makes the entire aspect of grading with psa irrelevant and the grades don’t actually mean anything.
I love this video. As a new collector I was interested in buying graded cards from companies outside of PSA as they are typically cheaper but was curious how their grading service compared to PSA. Fun watch! Hope to see more content around graded cards going forward!
I loved the video this way. Maybe display the old grading cards so you can find them easier before you start 🤔 I find it exciting to submit cards for grading, the opening when they Come back is always fun!🎉 Sometimes we grade for nostalgia sometimes because the cards are so beautiful ❤
Love collecting slabs, but mostly the cards that I pull myself or purchase. I normally don't buy big cards already graded. Part of the thrill is buying a raw card and trying for a 10.
I am in the process of grading my rarest/favorite cards, and I went with CGC since of the Big 3, I like the look of their slabs the best. I also love the look of the CGC Pristine 10 vs the normal CGC 10, so it's a bonus to get my cards with that label.
Educational video. Thanks man! While the overall scores similar. It seems the sub grading average helped some of those cards get propelled to a higher overall grade. The HGA cards will not hold decent value on the resell market unfortunately. Good call resubmitting to PSA.
I don't normally collect graded cards. For Mother's Day this year, my spouse bought me the rayquaza vmax alt in a psa 10. It was the last card that I needed from evolving skies.
Congratz Danny. That deal definitely worked out in your favor. I’m glad you took the risk on regrading. People talk crap about PSA and I know they are not perfect but on average the value is there. If you have a perfect card then maybe go for that BGS black label. I always do PSA.
Wow! Insane return! Would like to see some of the values associated, maybe like what you paid/ what they were worth vs what they are worth now after the regrade? Cool video to see from you Danny!
I don’t usually comment but I’ve watched so much of your content and your passion for the hobby is so genuine and raw especially the vid where you shared the experience of selling your original collection. Those 10 reveal seem like karma in a good way. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for the informative video! Are you able to inform me how you safely cracked the graded cards? I need to do this with my cgc cards but am too uncertain how to do it!
HGA was great for Pokémon because of the custom labels with artwork (which these were mostly the generic labels). HGA has however ceased operations this summer.
Ive started to grade my childhood collection. Just got back base set charizard, blastoise, erika's venusaur 1st ed and a few first edition neo genesis.
not a big slab collector myself , I mostly like my binder collection but anything that is not PSA is just hard to look at…PSA or nothing imo (unless like Black label or something) but ya get my point
Beckett in general is fine in my opinion, but yeah just that and PSA. CGC has been getting more popular but I feel like it’s still not as highly valued
i loveeee grading my cards! i submit cards that i pull that i really like and sometimes ones i pull if they're popular/i could trade then for something i'd rather have in my collection. always super fun! also grade stuff from my childhood for sentiment :)
Great video! Nice to see your personal collection of graded cards! Did you acquire these as HGA graded originally, or did you send them raw to HGA yourself, then decided to cross grade?
That was super cool... Congratulations 👏 One thing i learned from PSA if the pop count is low. They won't give you a good grade, regardless of the condition 😮😮 Very Nice BANGERS 🔥🔥💯💪 Do more videos like this ❤❤❤
I’m usually a card binder person but I did just buy my first graded card off an eBay auction. It was a 9 and was a few bucks cheaper than raw so I went for it.
Kinda feel like all the PSA being higher shows PSA is lighter on judging the cards. I guess that is great for a seller but awful for the buyer of the cards. Also those HGA slabs look so much better.
How about..... I would really like to grade some cards lol!!! Soon though. I have a few slabs but a gigantic collection. I think I have the best lined up.
I’ve only graded two cards ever and did it through a middle man because I’m scare to send them myself, managed to get both of them back in a 10 😊 shiny charizard V from champions path and Gold Giratina VStar from Crown Zenith
I am awaiting My first 5 cards I sent out for grading. I've been trying so hard to not look at the grades so I can do a legit unboxing video when they get here
This is so fun to watch Danny but at the same time it hurts so much. Since I still did not recieve back my 1st ever card psa submission from feb 2021 and prob never will. The company I did submit with is doing some shady stuff.. this sucks :( No response in a few months..
Do not care about psa AT ALL Cgc's old labels were cooler and more unique I'm gonna stick to bgs for the future. Maybe even Ace if I like the custom label they got
the only reason to grade that i can think is to insure the value againt fraud. The cost to havea card graded makes sense to me. The cost to purchase a graded card vs nongraded does not
You probably got the upcharge of all upcharges. I hate that psa thinks it's ok to magically charge more money just because the card they graded is now worth more. We already paid for the grading service so the upcharge is just a shameless money grab.
How much would a submission like this cost to have graded? I wanted to submit a similar sized portion of cards of similar value that I pulled myself a little while ago; Magikarp & Wailord alt, Charizard gx rainbow, Shiny Charizard gx hidden fates, Zoroark & Greninja alt, Alolan Raichu & Raichu alt, Slowpoke & Psyduck gx alt, Machamp & Marshadow gx alt, 2x Alolan Exeggutor & Rowlet alt, Pikachu & Zekrom Rainbow, 2 Lillie Full Art Trainers, 4 Lisia Full Art Trainers, Green's Exploration FA, Glaceon Vmax alt. And I have a couple hundred cards around the same value I wanted to grade and I'm afraid its going to be the cost of a mortgage to get them all graded. But does anyone have experience with grading that could give me a rough estimate on my above cards?
I only grade a few. I did submit plenty Van Gogh Pika, the Flareon/Jolteon/Vaporeon promo's from the premium collection box and most recently the Greninja and Kingdra promo from Shrouded. Cards who are worth it to me.
I wish they would tell us why we get what we get. Some things leave me scratching my head. I feel like there are no standards and how their day is going will determine the grade.
PSA gives 10's like it's nothing. honestly I don't understand why everyone loves them. Would have been better if you did BGS trying to get a black label which is the hardest grade to get
CGC is also much stricter on giving out 10s. The problem is PSA is a business and they know that if they give out tens people will return to give them more business. I just hope the community wisens up to it eventually and stops putting such preference on PSA. As you said, bgs is the standard we should all be aiming for
BGS gave black labels to people they knew so they can profit on cards, that’s why I stay away from them. I submit thru PSA just because people like them more than CGC and it’s easier to sell. And they do not give 10s out like it’s nothing. Unless they are in a good mood that day.
@@dreamerliifeettv6442I agree with this. I have seen what I believe to be pristine cards get 9s. But ive also seen some cards that have not so obvious, but have minor things about them get 10s. I think most people forget that to PSA GEM MT doesnt mean the card is downright perfect, as stated on their website, “an allowance may be made for a slight imperfection, if it doesnt impair the overall appeal of the card.”

I enjoy building decks for the tcg so I don't collect any slabbed cards. But it's great to see them
Did you crack these yourself Danny?!?! Great return!!! Be nice to see the difference between raw and graded return!!! Thanks
Great video Danny! I personally love graded cards! I would love to see you try the other card grading companies and hear your thoughts!
HGA was great for Pokémon because of the custom labels with artwork (which these were mostly the generic labels). HGA has however ceased operations this summer.
PSA does do sub grades. It’s just not very often but I’ve seen a few 8.5s in the past year.
He means the subgrades of edges surface corners and centering
Wasn't expecting this...cool vid Phanny...congrats on the nice grades :)
Nice returns!!! Everyone’s dream collection!
Ive started to grade my childhood collection. Just got back base set charizard, blastoise, erika's venusaur 1st ed and a few first edition neo genesis.
The Lillie is off center from Top/Bottom. That's why it got the 9 instead of a 10.
So what you’re saying is to grade cards now before they make things more stringent like Beckett?
not a big slab collector myself , I mostly like my binder collection but anything that is not PSA is just hard to look at…PSA or nothing imo (unless like Black label or something) but ya get my point

Awesome video. I've had alot of success cracking BGS 9.5s into psa 10. Glad this worked out for you dude
Awesome. I just bought a moonbreon BGS 9.5 and I’m thinking about submitting to PSA for the 10!
Great video! Nice to see your personal collection of graded cards! Did you acquire these as HGA graded originally, or did you send them raw to HGA yourself, then decided to cross grade?
Beautiful cards! I've never graded anything, but if I did I think I would prefer PSA, but I dunno why.
Congrats on the 10s!

Can you put these type of cards on the site, cause I've gotten quite a few all with blemishes and scratches
Loved the vid Danny!
Holy buckets Danny...you made out big on that submission. So ready to grade some cards in my collection
How about..... I would really like to grade some cards lol!!! Soon though. I have a few slabs but a gigantic collection. I think I have the best lined up.
We love graded cards, like our 1st Edition Dark Magneton we got out of a Phanny Pack! 😊
Very solid collection there. Cool video!
I hope you keep most or all of those for your PC Danny 🙏 some beauties in that stack 💪💪💪
This is insane! Well done buddy
All right, first time seeing Danny reveal his returning PSA slabs!
Your Lily got a 9 because population control. That is grading. 😢
Iv never graded cards personally was thinking beckett, as far as I understand the card doesn't move inside the case. Plus no membership fees.
You got a lot of good value cards back in good grades, and no finger cut, i call that a good day!
Are the singles on your website all NM?
Never seen so many ten pulls 😂 congrats 🎊
Very lucky grades! My psa experience has been so inconsistent. Yours not so much

This is the worst. Imagine my disbelief when PSA wanted 300 extra for grading my rayquaza goldstar. Insane
I do like grading cards. I usually go through somebody else though
I feel like you did this more calculated then you are leading us to believe.
Are we going to talk about the earring brother?
That’s a great PSA return.
i really like videos like this
love your videos keep it up :D
hgh seems to like to give 9 on centering for no good reason
I thought you had cuts from another watermelon. I guess slabs now new enemy now
we can see you submitted these cards under your real name lol , we (non famous ppl) wouldn't get all these cards back as a 10 🙃
I don't think grading is bad for the hobby necessarily but I genuinely would not trust PSA with my cards

60/40 on front and 70/30 on back for psa.

buy hga 9.5 slabs for the low and then submit to psa, then sell to the moron psa lovers who love the psa 10 for whatever reason lmao
