I think these are phenomenal speakers!
Great review! Would a DAC be beneficial for the KEF’s or is the enteral DAC good enough?
Great video, thanks
My pleasure!
How do the compare to the klipsch the fives?
Great voice
A great album for testing stereo imaging/frequency response is Air's '10,000 Hz Legend', because it's all electronic. I much prefer something like Dave Brubeck's 'Time Out', or Miles Davis 'Sketches of Spain', though which are also useful. If you can close your eyes and visualize where the musicians are on the track 'Take Five', it's a pretty good set of speakers. Turning the lights all the way down helps, too. You can hear a little bit better when your eyes are disconnected from your ears.
Yeah I often close my eyes while listening to better concentrate on the sound.
And…. I too am a Pluto fan!
😂
What a nice voice !
Thanks
When you watched movies - did these speakers act as the Center speaker or just the left/right?
2.1 only.
If placed just right they can act like a center channel but I prefer left - right for movies so that’s how I watched.
Super voice!
Thanks
Hmmm, that's the trade off with these streaming speakers. It's nice to have everything in a single unit, but when technology moves on, they become outdated, even though the speakers themselves are still perfectly fine.
That’s true! One good thing is some companies try to keep the firmware updates coming, adding new features and support as much as possible.
you forgot to mention the deletion of the USB port? how can i connect my pc? even the LSX 2 has a USB C... this lack of USB for me is not acceptable in this price ranger...
I've never heard these speakers, but I IMMEDIATELY know why people like them. They're COAXIAL. The tweeters are in the center of the woofer. This ALWAYS leads to far superior stereo imaging. I have been waiting and waiting for coaxial home theater speakers. Once you've heard how much better the stereo image is, you'll understand why. And yes, I do have a pair of JBLs that were a couple of thousand dollars each (which I love). And some Infinitys, which are quite good for the price.
I wish you would play more music when review speakers... just use whatever copyright free music youtube allows to be in videos. We really want to hear what speakers sound like in a room. Some people will say that it's dumb to listen over your computer to a recording of other speakers, but it actually provides a lot of useful information about the speakers, especially if you move the camera around the room slowly. Most important is the move from the front of the speaker, all the way to the sides, to get an idea of dispersion.
I don't personally prefer powered speakers, or wireless speakers. It would be really useful if they put a small volume knob on the remote, so you could instantly turn the volume down if you accidentally left it too high and then connected it to a loud source. There's nothing worse than having your powered speakers playing at full volume, about to blow and having to fumble for a remote control and click a button over and over again. Or perhaps the software automatically turns the volume down to 25% ever time you power the speakers on?
They are not coaxial they are uni Q.
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 There is a volume control on the remote control. Also, you can limit maximum output through the Kef app.
Thanks for commenting. I do some copyright free stuff but as you mentioned some people like it others don’t. So I try to balance it.
@@gary-kr7dm Is it a knob, or a button that you have to press over and over again. A knob can be turned down in a fraction of a second, and that was my point. Trying to fumble to find a button and press it 12 times is not gonna work, as your speakers are blowing up, right in front of your eyes.
My kef ls50w is now a paper weight... Stay away from these!
What happened to it?
Could you please elaborate?
Maybe repair it. I don't personally prefer powered speakers for this reason, but isn't it probably worth having it fixed?
My guess a power pike... Its taken out the power amp on main speaker. Google this problem and photos show same resistor destruction. Common problem. Yes I could spend a lot of money and replace boards but.... the feedback with others say its a recurring problem
@@danbond518 Design flaw on the board sounds like. Thanks.
I’m very disappointed with the audio quality of this crap KEF LS50 wireless II
What don't you like?
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist The mid frequency reproduction is poor. The vocals seems to resonate!
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Mid frequency reproduction is poor. Vocals too quacky and not able to adjust to liking!
Ok, I agree they add a little something to the mid range that does change vocals a bit. I don’t mind it but I can understand why someone wouldn’t want this. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏾
You should get klipsch the fives , better and cheaper
