Chilling water absorbs hp
Normal type is better than psychic type. If you play gen 1 competitively, you'll understand why.
Psyduck has never been a psychic type tho it just learns psychic moves
In Indonesian/Malaysian Air mean water
Stunfisk actually has a use for limber, albeit niche
In generation 5, electric types could still be paralyzed by moves like glare and body slam.
While absolutely niche, gen 5-8, stunfisk could use camouflage or reflect type and end up a non electric/ground type, making it susceptible to para.
Also Soak/Magic Powder could change it's type to water or psychic respectively and nowadays Tera types exist.
yeah i didnt know why this fact was put.... so many other ways to para lol
@@Daltonownzyoulol well the glare and body slam ones apply only in Gen 5. I guess he was talking about Stunfisk's most recent appearence
Electric types could be paralyzed by all paralyzing moves gen 5 and prior
@@neri1220 And I learned that if an Electric type Pokémon Terastallizes into a non-Electric Tera Type and gets paralyzed, it will remain paralyzed when it de-Terastallizes.
Actually for 2:18 you can lower it even more by having a non-fire type like bagon with ember, since they don't get the stab boost.
4:10
Just to correct you on one thing, the word "air" in malay and indo means water, and it is read as "a-yer", so I honestly doubt any Malaysians or Indonesians will get confused.
Ye especially because air/ wind in Malay and indo is angin
Yeah lol
I think its a-yir
@@Yogi_imawan that true
I was just about to comment that cus I'm actually Indonesian 🇮🇩
Somewhat on topic fact:
Due to Bite's type change, it is the only move to go from Phys, to Special, then back to Phys again
7:13 Did you mean that Snorunt is the first pure ice type pokemon to be able to evolve? Because Swinub and Smoochum in gen 2 were both ice type pokemon who could evolve.
Thank you I was literally thinking the same thing.
He said PURE ICE Type, Swinub and Smoochum Have a secondary type
@@subaruthehamster3664 Dobbs didn’t say the word Pure
@@subaruthehamster3664 bro is hallucinating 💀
There is also seel and shellder in gen 1
Edit: I looked it up and I didn't realize that they were pure water types that evolved into ice types.
??? type isn't the "unused bird type". It was a type specifically implemented to prevent the game freaking out for typeless pokemon, and was also used for the move Curse.
Another fun fact about fire types is that Arcanine is a fire type and Arcanine is a good boi
Or girl
They are a good doggo and that's just a fact.
Exactly!
It’s a legendary type like articuno and zapdos
I am?
Charizard, the best known Flame/Bird-type Pokémon.
Even though it's not a bird but yeah I agree 😆
@@AmeliaBerdel-xv3wpThat's why, if ever GF adopts my idea of making secondary type effects inferior to primary type effects (super effective attack on a mon's secondary type, for example Psychic attacks against Bulbasaur, will only deal 1.5 damage) That could be a great way to distinguish between primary and secondary Flying types. All birds will have their primary type changed to Flying (and Fire for Talonflame, or Dragon for Altaria, will become the secondary type), while the likes of Charizard, Dragonite and Lugia will remain with Flying as a secondary type.
We already have some distinguishes: Houndoom (Dark/Fire) VS Incineroar (Fire/Dark), Torterra (Grass/Ground) VS Toedscruel (Ground/Grass), Skarmory VS Corviknight and, from the very beginning, Golem VS Rhydon.
7:36 "the new fighting-type move ass kick"
Well, in Generation V, Electric-type Pokémon were not immune to paralysis, so Stunfisk, being both an Electric- and Ground-type Pokémon, could have been paralyzed by non-Electric-type moves, such as Stun Spore
Or Static
Body Slam
Fun fact about dragons: the noibat line are the only dragons where Flying is the primary type. It's even rare among all flying types for having flying as the primary type among all the dual type flyers; there's only 5 dual type flying types with flying as thier first type.
Another fun fact about "Steel Beam" is that in Spanish and French the move was called "Métalaser", which personally sounds much more creative and clever than the super generic "someting" beam thing.
Steel Beam is a pun though:( it references steel beams, and also a beam of energy
I was actually just thinking about the move the other day and how fun of a pun it is
If you were to make a video about every used type combination, I’ve got one for Dragon/Fairy:
While it’s still technically been used before, it’s the only combination that can only be found thanks to a generation-specific condition. By this, I mean Mega Altaria and Mega Evolution.
7:38 definitely thought you said ass kick 😂
ngl that makes two of us
That is definitely what he said
Even the subtitles agree
11:23 Too bad Psyduck and Golduck are not psychic types... To this day it is still unknown why. Perhaps they would get regional variant that would be part psychic or perhaps they would eventually get 3rd stage evolution who would be water/psychic. I would love to see that.
Yeah!
Another fact about Water types is that it was the first type to get all possible dual type combinations with other types, though water/fire is only for a Volcanion who is legendary/mythical.
grass has acheived this as well
@@v_1sh Yes, recently with fire/grass.
Another fun fact about the bug type is that as of gen 9, we are yet to get a bug type legendary that isnt a mythical (genesect), ultra beast or gimick-based (arceus and silvally holding the insect plate and bug memory)
4:09 the real fact is Air means Water in Malaysian\Indonesian version so thats not confusing at all 😅
4:34
Ampharos' Electric/Dragon Mega typing is also a reference to its Japanese name "Denryu", which translates to "Lightning Dragon".
7:36 is it just me or does it sound like Dobbs says ass kick
it sounds like he said it
I don´t know if there´s enough content for this idea, but I think it could be very fun if you make a video called "Every time a human character was disguised/cosplayed as a pokemon" (in the anime/games) and maybe explaining the context as to why they did it.
I remembered Bill disguised as a kabuto (and Ash wanting to catch him) and the guy dressed as a machamp in the alola games to pick up girls and I think those were some fun scenarios. So it would be cool to know if there´s more examples.
The Serena one
Meowth: don't tell me, she's into cosplayin'!?
Limber on stunfisk is not useless. Just niche. With the many moves that can change Pokemon types, Limber on Stunfisk makes it immune to para even after being hit by moves such as "Soak", "Forest's Curse", or even it's Egg Move "Reflect Type". Even back in gens 5, 6, and 7, it could learn "Camouflage". In other words, the point of this ability was to tie in with "Camouflage" and other type changing abilities. Now, that is mostly useless in PvP level play for the most part, but, not useless altogether as you are making it sound like. It's a niche ability for Stunfisk though. One that I've actually used before in playthroughs, because stunfisk is not as bad as people tend to think it is.
The archeops fact is wrong. Slaking has a higher BST and is not a Legendary or Pseudo or Paradox or Mega
In the video it say in parentheses that Slaking was included in pseudo legendaries
@@corynl9957which is wrong
@@enoyna1001 I know, I was just pointing out that it was addressed in the video
I believe fissure was used by Taurus against Drake during the orange island arc.
.................That was before the earthquake incident that caused the moves earthquake, magnitude, and fissure to become banned. This incident happened sometime during the gen3 saga of the anime, as a couple of Pokemon (specifically Skaking and Whiscash) were seen using the move in a couple episodes, but when Ash brought back his Phanpy, it no longer knew the move despite having been seen using it before during one of his matches with a trainer in the Pokemon league
@@matthewkuscienko4616 yeah Phanpy used Earthquake once and never again, IIRC
At least they used earth power and dig.
@@matthewkuscienko4616 Also the reason why Krookodile Gliscor and Torterra don't have a ground type attack at all. Funnily enough Palpitoad is the one that does since mud based moves are fair game.
@LegendaryCaptain Krookodile actually does have a ground move in the anime, it knew how to use dig. You're right about the other 2, though
2:14 You forgot to give Rivalry to the attacking Pokémon, which reduces the damage by 25% if the target is the opposite gender
There were 2 ice types in gen 2 that evolved. They are Smoochum and Swinub
he was specifically talking about mono Ice-types actually
Snorunt, and then Vanillite and Cubchoo, then Bergmite, and then A-Vulpix, and then G-Darumuka, and then recentlyCetoodle
First ice type to evolve would be swinub, 2nd gen. Not snorunt in gen 3.
Also smoochum to jynx. Not sure where you got that fact Dobbs but its was off
"The only other pokemon to appear in every main series game is Magnemite"
Excuse me, you forgot Gyarados.
And technically zubat
@@CoralReaper707 Zubat is not obtainable in Scarlet/Violet
@@ZoofyZoof yet probably
5:50 the monke definitely has some thicc 'grass' there
Two of Flint's team members may not be fire type but they do have a connection to hotness
Drifblim because hot air balloons use heat to work
Lopunny because it's based on a playboy bunny
I think there was a reason Steelix was involved but I forgot :P
LOPPUNY WHAT 😱🥶🤯
Steelix because if you leave metal under the sun for a long time it gets hot
Steelix is pure metal which is made by burning the ore at high temperature
Steelix is pure metal which is made by burning the ore at high temperature
7:38
“the new fighting type move, ass kick”
Love these vids , can binge watch all of em
Another amazing video! really enjoyed it!!!
17:09 Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding, but hasn't water always been neutral to the steel type?
And electric too?
Yes, and yes
But steel not effective on water and elec :(
GameFreak Employee:Hey this Pokédex only has 2 fire type lines. Let’s make a fire type elite four member for the region
Yeah like 🤨
7:13 “Snorunt was the first ice type Pokémon introduced to be able to evolve!” Seel and Dewgong: *”Am I a joke to you?”*
Seel is pure Water type and only becomes an Ice type after evolution, but I believe Swinub evolving into Piloswine in Gen 2 would be the correct fact
Seel isnt Ice type though, he meant a back to back evolution of Ice types
so if anything Smoochum and Swinub should be the ones offended as they came out in gen 2
I see. Mistakes were made lol!
Well, actually, smoochum evolves into Jynx in gen 1, and I know for a fact they’re both ice type, so I got the generation right at least!
Smoochum is not a gen 1 pokemon
13:20 Slaking: Am I a joke to you?
Slaking is not a psuedo legendary, yet he grouped it as one.
He said non-pseudo legendary
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)
Jsi borec. Mám moc rád tvoji tvorbu.
If doobs like Lorelei then his favorite version may be the Pedro Araujo version
fun fact: you can make a completely invincible arcanine. if you swap wonder guard to arcanine with some kind of setup and use burn up, it becomes ??? type
Your completely invincible Arcanine when I use Toxic ☠️
@@benjamincooper358 you know what I mean
5:05 Ground types can be paralyzed by grass move stun spore and many others that don't involve electricity
I feel like it makes sense that the birbs are pure flying seeing as their endgame is flying steel and given the gimmick they have. They are rookies and squires chosen to rise above the ranks so making them normal would bd weird
0:51 Kriketune’s line should have been Bug-Normal
12:15 Doesn’t Psychic resist Fighting too
It does, but I think you already knew
Grafaiai poison normal left the chat
@@pokemons9881 nobody even mentioned poisen
With that ice type fact about Snowrunt, do Smoochum and Swinub not count????
OOPS 😂
@@ethandobbs did you perhaps mean pure ice type?
0:49 Kriketot and Kricketune are literally violin bugs and the normal type is also the sound type so they should be Normal/Bug not just bug
Clair will also call you a cheater if you trade one over. Any dragon fang you receive that isn’t the one from the den will trigger this dialogue.
The best gen1 type is psychic, but its also very closely tied with normal when applied to competive
Outside of Generation 1 Ubers, the three mandatory Auto Include Pokemon are all Normal type being Tauros, Chansey and Snorlax. They all benefit from all of the Strongest moves being Normal and the Fighting type being so weak and weak the other strongest type. In Generation 1 OU The top Six pokemon have usage stats that make Kingambit, Great tusk and Landorus blush.
Great video Dobbs. Keep up the great work. Love your videos and personality.
That water type fact was really interesting I'm now interested in a room hack of nothing but water type gym leaders lol
I don't know why you kept talking about Psyduck and Golduck in the Psychic type part... they are pure water types
They are very psychic, they just don't have the type for game-balancing reasons (also I think he likes Psyduck)
If pokemon exist in real life and i can have one i would probably have a golduck too
@@heather_foreather I doubt that. Golduck live in lakes so you probably won't go to a lake of at least level 32 without any pokemon and then catch a psychic and decide to not catch anymore pokemon.
@@mohamedzoulali5755 no no no cuz i use it a lot and i also have headaches me and him can be like headache massage buddies
@@heather_foreather golduck doesn't suffer from headache
The only grass type pokemon that is actually grass is my boy dhelmise 🥰
Waiting for a normal grass type pokemon thats literal grass with eyes
I never realized that Ice had a major user in every generation
7:38 "Ass Kick"
amazing video!
Here's a changes for the fairy type move in sv : There's one more fairy type move that was released in the indigo disk, you'll get the tm for " Alluring Voice " After defeat lacey
Actually, the whole "Mega Evolution Timeline" theory was never solid, and since Scarlet/Violet, it seems to have been completely debunked.
7:37 The fighting type move WHAT
7:38 The new fighting type move ass kick😂
Woooo! The legend is back!
Lorelei is my favorite too, also for no particular reason I just… like her outfit…yeah, that’s totally it… 😳
In Pokemon crystal you can encounter sneasel wich is a dark type in the cave between Mahogany Town and Blackthorn City so there was a dark type available before entering Kanto.
And let's not forget Umbreon, who was available (just not encounterable) before Kanto through evolving Eevee
@@NurioMarayana True how could i forget one of the best eeveelutions (my opinion)
honkai star rail sponsors once now am addicted to it lol
The reason why Ampharos becomes a dragon type mega is because of its japanese name is a pun, デンリュウ (Denryu) sounds like electrical current when spoken but also can sound like electrical dragon when spoken
Sweet vid! 😊
0:34 I love how bidoof went from forgotten to overpopular thanks to the memes about him
Rock/Grass in general is surprisingly great. The two share ten weaknesses, however no less than SIX are neutralized: Fire, Flying, Grass, Ground, Poison and Water. Add to that the STAB super effective damage you can deal to Bug and Ice (which are still weaknesses) and you only have to worry about Fighting and Steel. Wow.
Grass/Fire, of course, is also great, only weak to Flying, Poison and Rock (which can be dealt STAB super effective Grass damage back), but that's only five weaknesses neutralized and one can be dealt STAB double damage back, compared to six weaknesses neutralized and two that can be dealt STAB double damage back.
Are you going to play that new Pokémon fusion rom hack soon? :)
forever wish we had gotten lets go psyduck
Exeggcute being a Grass type could also be a visual pun on the word "Eggplant".
Here's an idea for a future video: 1 fact for every Kirby character and/or enemy. Or 1 fact for every Kirby power.
7:17
Swinub: "Am I a joke to you?"
7:38
Dobbs: axe kick
The subtitles: *a s s k i c k*
Normal/other type Pokémon make no sense. The whole point of Normal was the absence of type, so giving it a secondary type is contradictory.
Dobbs: the new fighting move ass kick
That got laughing with tears
Pokemon can be paralyzed by things other than electric moves. You mentioned Body Slam and Tri Attack in this video- which can both cause paralysis. Also Stun Spore and Lick.
12:09
I'd argue it's normal. If you know anything about RBY OU, you'll know why.
Dobbs:Shaymin is the only pokemon with grass on it
Me: Bro you forgot about skiddo gogoat and grotle
7:13 I'm confused. What do u mean snorunt is the first ice type pokemon to evolve? There is seal, smoochum, and swinub.
Not Seel. That's a Water type. You're right about the other 2, though
17:04 can someone cite where this is found? ive been trying to look for any documentation of the 4 glitched types but have come up empty handed
Another fun fact about the flying type is that it’s undeniably the best type
team sky would agree
GO TEAM SKY!!!!!!!!
Tell that to the Steel types
GO TEAM SKY!!!
They could use a skull and cross on TC for poison; a boulder for rock; a gravehead stone for ghost; an iceburg for ice; a crack for ground; a bug for bug
Hope you upload more videos soon ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
TRI-ATTACK: I should inflict upon you flames so normal it burns.
17:13 Water and Electric crying in the corner
Immediately after the dragon type facts, I got an ad for Dragon’s Den.
A normal bug type would probably be the least normal arthropod nature can think of
I GOT AN AD FOR HONKAI STARRAIL I’m screaming that it’s was the sponsor and I got an ad for it
About the tri attack thing, let's look at it this way, this is the same universe where a creature with fire coming out of it's back can be frozen.
17:03
Hah, my pokemon resists your move! It's a 'I)M)ZM type!
I’m not gonna lie
I thought tornadus was the only pure flying type before sword and shield because it embodied both aspects of the flying type (air and actually flying)
And actually? 🥶
5:37 Portugal has is own Pokemon version! I always thought we used the US or UK version of the games.
I was going to say in gen 5 electric types can be paralized but i just realised he is also ground type
my childhood goat still posting about pokemon ur a fucking legend dobbs
Bug type Pokemon have regional form look at kleavor from legend Arceus
Though love your content got lot of fun facts ❤
Swinub evolves into Paloswine in gen 2 unless you’re meaning Snorunt is the first pure Ice type to evolve. But until Gen 3 we didn’t have any pure Ice types to begin with.
You should have also done the ??? Type
That’s why electabuzz is great! 👍
Looks like I'm keeping the Fairy Cards closer than ever. +Rarity in 10 years 😆
If you know how to read, if you actually read the freeze-dry attack's description, you'll know why it did super effective damage even with normalize as an ability.
