Men have always wanted younger women and most of the time women want older men. It's all biologically driven too; older men have more wealth, stability, and resources while younger women have more fertile years ahead of them that are more successful for bearing children. It's the 2 sexes coming together at their prime procreation years to have children. Now obviously we are talking about grown adults here, women's prime age for children is between 22-30 and most men hit their financial strides in their mid 30's-40's. And most married couples are not that far apart in age anyway, especially now that women are more financially independent.

I’m 55 but often it’s younger guys that hit on me or ask me out, I’m ok with it as long as they’re at least 35-40ish…. But not younger and sometimes people make hurtful assumptions and comments. Well, truthfully you *can* date anyone you want once your 18, barring anyone who's under 18 obviously, and that's just how it is. Sure, 25 is the age when you're going to fully mature into adulthood and your brain finishes developing, but you're legally an adult at 18. You can vote, join the military, move across country, get a job, and do anything any other adult can at 18 aside from drink and smoke legally, so there's really nothing stopping you from dating anyone you want. Unless you want to raise the age of consent to 25, and thereby raising the age of legal adulthood to 25 along with it, then there's really nothing anyone can say about it.

I don’t understand how you thought that phrase could even be remotely used in a malicious way to justify an argument that is both rare and one that anyone hardly outwardly makes. It’s a normal statement that is commonly made by the public.

Honestly 25 is about the point where you should be able to date who you want.
Well, truthfully you *can* date anyone you want once your 18, barring anyone who's under 18 obviously, and that's just how it is. Sure, 25 is the age when you're going to fully mature into adulthood and your brain finishes developing, but you're legally an adult at 18. You can vote, join the military, move across country, get a job, and do anything any other adult can at 18 aside from drink and smoke legally, so there's really nothing stopping you from dating anyone you want. Unless you want to raise the age of consent to 25, and thereby raising the age of legal adulthood to 25 along with it, then there's really nothing anyone can say about it.
