- In this video I show you where the 30 Amp main fuse and the Starter Relay are on my 2006 Toyota Corolla. This should be in the same location on 2003-2008 Toyota Corollas. I have other videos on my 2006 Toyota Corolla on my channel. If you are interested and have time, please check those videos out. Thanks for watching!

This video just saved me! My Corolla 2002 wasn't starting and as I watched this video I realised the MAIN 40A relay wasn't sitting properly. Pushed it in and everything's fine again! Thank you!
would have been great if you'd actually showed how to replace the starter relay itself.
If you have a manual it tells you
I changed my started and then nothing. Watched this vid and boom! It runs! Lol. Thanks.
Thanks for watching, I'm glad the video helped!
This is what I’m hoping is wrong I changed my starter two weeks ago and changed the battery myself today I’m hoping this is the problem but I have a Camry so I don’t know which fuse I try to pull all the 30s out and it’s tough I don’t wanna break it
Tengo un Toyota corola ase lo mismo prende ala segunda alguien sabe que puede ser
My 2005 Corolla is experiencing intermittent starts. I am currently at the Gas station and it will not start, so I pushed it into a parking stall. Thanks to your video, I have discovered a possible failed 30A Fuse, and replaced it with the spare as you instructed. The car is still not starting, so I will wait a while to see if it will start, then, I will proceed to the Local O'Reilly's Auto Parts store to see if they can replace the Starter Relay...I will remind them to disconnect the battery.
Getting that purple fuse out is an entire video on its own.
What an inconvenience. The engineers should have put this relay to a location easily accessible. Just saying.
How do you take out the starter relay?
The best way is take out the vent besides steering wheel and relay is visible for easy take out, use screw driver to pop it as there is tan on the relay hope that helps
@@rajdumra-u8u there is no side vent on those models.
I just did it, took like 2 minutes. I popped that change holder out, stuck a flashlight in there. Slide seat back and law down by the pedals, look up from under and you see it behind a white plastic mount. I put my thumb and finger around the ends, and popped it out, put the new one in and car fired right up.
@@TherealTomhoward did you record yourself doing it. That would help a lot
@@a.m.1460I found it was easier to simply remove the instrument panel, two screws, and then two wires, and you can see it from the top. Important to know since it only goes on one way.
I replaced the starter, the battery, all fuze under hood, replaced starter relay and still nothing
Fantastic tutorial! You look and sound just like Conan O'Brien, which is always fun haha.
Haha! I have heard that before! Thanks for watching!
Should my starter relay just pull out? Or do I need tools?
How do you remove the purple starter relay on the 2006 Corolla? It is stuck!
Which one is the tail light relay on the fuse box?i have been trying to find it on my 2005 corolla, thanks
If you here the click click click from under the hood it's the starter solenoid which is attached to the starter which is located under the intake manifold. If it's click click clicking that means the starter relay is working just fine.
My 2003 Toyota Matrix stopped cranking halfway through.
I replaced the battery, starter, starter switch... and nothing worked. lights come on and react to me turning the key.
I'm hoping it is this fuse.
I pulled out the fuse and there was gunk on the prongs. Two of the prongs looked to be a bit burnt. It's the original part so, maybe it is time to change it?
I read elsewhere that they use the same fuses for that of a 00's Corolla.
What ended up being your fix bro?
I wonder if that top vent above the relay place pops off like in a Matrix/Vibe? Make this job much easier and I'll be doing this myself when the snow melts. Good vid, keep the info out there!
How do you get it out?
It's way easier to get it in and out if you pop the vent that's to the left of the steering wheel out
Hi Todd. I noticed my instrument cluster not responding. All the gauges, battery indicator light and others not showing after switching on the ignition. I dunno what fuse to check to confirm. Kindly help.
Thanks
Its same as the corolla in the video
You didn't show hiw you took it out?
Cause it's too darn hard!
What if my car doesn’t crank at all? I’ve changed the battery and starter and still nothing.
Trying to find a video of someone actually removing a relay. I can't get the little blue denso to budge. I feel like I'm going to rip it in half
It's in there tight, you could use a relay puller with a 90 degree angle but might be hard to fit in there. Hope you get it good luck!
@@ToddsGarage Thanks, sounds like I just need to yank it out and have an extra on hand
That 30 Amp fuse that green is that another starter fuse? I know about the relay but why you toke out the fuse?
Pls help me I have a 2004 toyota Corolla type s.
The bottom half of the fuse box has power but the top half has no voltage going through it.
The thick black wire with the green small wire in the tan box has power on one side of it but not the other. (Has power on the right side and not the left side)
Any advice will help I'm a college student and I really need this car.
Thank you
Hi Abel, Thanks for watching! I'm sorry but I wouldn't be sure what is going on with your car. I hope you are able to get your car fixed.
Thank you great video
You can pop-up the air condition outlet on the driver side and you can see the blue relay and easy to get it in the matrix 2004 Toyota!!!!
So how do u replace it then?
Hi thanks for watching, They make a special tool called a relay puller to take relays out. The starter relay is in a hard to reach location, an angle relay puller might make it easier.
How the hell do you get it out??????
Hey brotha thank u for the video instantly switched the fuse with the back up and it started right away saved me $124 bucks man...but also do u know what could be causing these fuses to burn out cuz my windshield wiper fuse also burnt out
Hi and thanks for watching, I am glad the video was helpful. I am not sure what could be causing your fuses to go bad, unfortunately it could be a lot of different things. Thanks again for watching.
You don't need to disconnect the battery you'll never get shocked by 12v and that amp rate.
Couldn't it short out the fuse though ?
@@noyourawsome2lol979 the possibility is very slim but it could blow the fuse (worse scenario) but as long as someone getting shocked by 12v in a car is 0 to none. It is a good practice to disconnect the battery when performing electrical repairs but the reason is to protect other components from an unwanted load.
Wouldn't say zero though.... got a nasty surprise changing out my alternator in an old grand am
Replaced starter, ordered relay, while waiting for the relay, decided to clean the battery terminals with wire brush, found hidden debris within the terminals. Cleaned and started right up.
It was killing me, was also considering changing the neutral safety switch, sometimes is the simple things we overlook.
Lots of help
Thanks for watching!
My toyota corolla altis 2003 model has a problem when i pressed the accelerator. Everytime i press the pedal there's a noise come from the relay under the drivers wheel. I thought that the relay is the problem but when i replace into new one the problem is still there.
Hi, thanks for watching! I'm not sure on that one, sorry I can't help. Good luck on getting it fixed, let us know what you find out.
Lots of videos showing where this relay is but nobody shows how to do it. I do not believe it is actually possible to remove.
it comes off. Just worked on one hours ago. get a good grip and pull. best of luck
@@crod038 Where it is located there is no way to get any kind of grip on it.
Excellent job on this video!
Thanks for watching!
How the world do you get it out! No video shows someone actually removing the Relay. Just magically appears in their hand😡
The relay has a notch face to motor, with the nail pull the little plastic to free it.
Add a question to anybody that would know I change the relay check the fuses they were all good took the starter off had it tested it works I'm still getting no power to turn the start over with a mission turn there's no clicking on the relay do you guys know anything of that problem if you can respond to me I'd appreciate it
I'm chasing a ghost on my Corolla. Check for voltage going to an coming back out of the neutral safety switch
Im in the exact same situation right now. Batter and starter are fine but still no cranking or clicking
I’m chasing a ghost too right now, gave up basically lol thank god I got another Corolla 🤪
Why didn't you show how to remove the relay ?
didn't actually show us how to replace it, did you?
Its much easier to pull the pocket change panel and the power mirror covers, then you can glab the relay from above and not struggle with the lack of room the way you suggest.
My Corolla will only click once and then goes dead and I get nothing after that initial click unless I take off and put back on my battery cables but than again the same thing
My alternator, starter and battery are all new and I’m about to put a new relay in but want to to make sure the relay was the problem 1st
Hey same here, did you figure what it was? Car goes dead after the first click when trying to start. I have to reseat the negative cable to give car the power. I see everything powers on except for the engine start and radio..
Did you ever resolve the issue? My wife has exactly the same problem @@mrivera914
Gotta be hodini to get it out
Where is the starter fuse?
Yes sir, can you plz pin point me,where is the fuelpump fuse relay, may car it won't start, but it cranking, what happen is I remove the fuelpump and clean, after it won't start
Thanks for watching, I'll try to address in a future video. Good luck hope you get it fixed!
I think he got shocked
Nice
Thanks for watching!
What about 1 loud click? Not a bunch of small rapid clicks
I'm not sure on that one, did you get it figured out?
Yep. Engine was locked up 🤣
@@1dev2 sorry to hear that. Good luck with everything.
Well mine went click replace the starter..click.
Guy tapped the start with me turning the key and vrooomm till a day later and click.
Changed starter thinking it was bad .
New starter..click.
Changed purple relay...click...
Time to soak the seats with gas . Main fuse he showed is good
Your video should be called, how to know where the starter relay is... cause you didn't teach how to replace it....
not exactly a help if you don't take it out.
waste of my time
Why the fuck don't you show how to replace the part!?
the worst fuse box location in this car
Thanks brother and nice hat ! go dodgers!! oh and I hope they fire coach Robert's and Jansen with him I don't understand why we have a almost won game and he decides to put Jansen to #&%3 it up ? And about Robert's he's a bad, lazy coach other coaches go to mount when their pitcher throws 2 balls ? Robert's on world series games 4-5 runs from other teams and he still thinking about it man what the hack? Thanks
Thanks for watching!
