At first I was all like, "Man, I wish the original album had humming tracks on it." and then they were all like, "Here you go." and I was like, "Cool, thanks." and I danced.
yea but why didn't she get any lyrics? =/ i love her voice but the humming starts to annoy at some point. (i'm happy she got lyrics in the bastion soundtrack ^^ )
I hoped to hear more of Red in the soundtrack but this soundtrack is easily one of the best in video game history. This is why videogames deserve to be recognized as art.
+4thot Only audio-visual effects and story are art. Not entire game. Just if you make great audio-visual effects and story, it happens accidentally to fulfill 80% of purpose of the game.
+justtestingthefeatures I disagree. I would argue that games are experiential art. Reading the script of a game and listening to a soundtrack while looking through art slides does not impart a subject with the full experience of the game. Being an involved part of the process is part of the artistry of gaming.
+justtestingthefeatures Couldn't disagree more. Art is subjective and gameplay itself is simply interactive art with different games having varying degrees of interactivity. The same kind of argument you made could be used against movies. Only the story and music are art not the visuals and actors. All you need is a good story and good music and it fulfills 80% of the purpose of the movie : P. Games are just a newer format, a new kind of canvas if you will. More and more games like Transistor are coming out proving that games are and will be more readily recognized as art.
+justtestingthefeatures what you have proposed here is ridiculous. and by that I mean it's literally worthy of ridicule. which fulfills 80% of the requirements of a standard youtube post. the other 20% being a clever reply from someone else 2 months later
MegaKronnik Just because there's more of you (I can't even confirm if you hadn't logged in by multiple accounts). Doesn't mean you're necessarily right. But then again, I'm not going engage into online war. I've seen already times where I had to respond to 7 people, with blind arguments they just couldn't get through their thick skulls. Also, "ridicule", as if you 3 are in charge what ridiculous means. arousing or deserving ridicule : extremely silly or unreasonable : absurd, preposterous - ri·dic·u·lous·ly adverb - ri·dic·u·lous·ness noun
Supergiant games does it again and again.. And Again. Honestly you guys are probably one of the best indie companies to ever grace this god forsaken earth. May your grace light the path for those who are weary and confused on what to do as game designers. Much love.
Play it, the shit is all about those soundtrack awesome transfortmation when game situations change as it is interactive and tied to gameplay. I never had such an experience. please try it.
Wow... I just realized that there were Processed voices in the chorus of Signals. It's so subtle and I've been listening to Red sing to it that I didn't realize it was there.
I'm so thrilled you guys did this! The hummed versions of the songs are so beautiful & inspiring to listen to while drawing or designing! Thank you so much!
This is fantastic. I was counting on the Breached project to get these additional tracks, but of course you go and release these bonus tracks anyway. Goddamn, Supergiant Games, you know how to be the best of the best.
You guys are amazing and one of the few studios I love to support all the way. Please continue with the amazing work you do and also thank to Darren Korb for even more beautiful music :)
I completed the game with 100% achievements and stuff, but i still open it every once in a while just to listen to the hummed songs. Thanks for the upload Supergiant Games!
+Crowbar If you want to play something worthwhile in the meantime i recommended undertale. Amazing soundtrack, story that will suck you in... just try it!
I realize I am like 8 years late to this game but I just played it recently bc it was on a very big sale on the nintendo eshop, and it's just. a masterpiece, I breezed through it I feel but still had an incredible experience, and since I started like 3 days ago, I haven't been able to get the soundtrack out of my head. the songs are so good speaking of songs, I feel like this is some weird psychology thing going on here that I don't understand, but I feel like red humming the songs instead of singing them is more.... intimate? personal? and I feel more... connected to her, after listening to most of this, because... hearing a person humming to themselves is just,, such a private moment yk?? and it's quite,, emotional, and touching, yk I know why she's humming insyead of singing like. story wise. I finished the game so I know what's going on. but it's just really sweet. I love ashley barret's voice so much
Whenever it is, if it's up to the quality of Bastion and Transistor, it'll be well worth the wait. So many game companies are stagnant and rehashing like crazy these days that a small company putting out original, innovative, thoughtful, and downright inspiring titles needs to be nurtured.
Man the description says play the game before you listen to it but I don't have the money :c I played Bastion and loved the soundtrack so I have to listen to this!
Plaguewalkerful There's no hummed version of either one. I thought that's what he was talking about but, upon reading it again, it seems like dude was asking about _n C_rcl_s.
Darth Fall I think that during Blank Canvas, during the whole game, all Red wanted to do was find him. All those times when there wasn't music for her to hum to, she hummed Paper Boats. All she was thinking about was how to find him. That's why she searches for the Camerata. Not for revenge, or her voice back, but to find him. The last plan she had to find him, after the Camerata were gone, was to go to his body and maybe do something there. But when he said "That's not me, not anymore" she knew what she had to do to find him.
Gateless is my favourite out of these songs. It made me feel like such a badass while smashing process and showing them who's boss. You can say i felt gateless.
I haven't played the game, but came upon this OST by accident and now I put it on whenever I need to write something (usually work-related) and need some inspiration. So good.
I love it! Seems like there's an error in the timing found in the description though, for example, going to 46:24 puts you halfway through Sandbox (Hummed) rather than the beginning of We All Become (Instrumental)
Thank you so much for having no adds!!!!!! When you are trying to listen to the Last Of Us sound track, and there are 6 adds!! In the space of 1 hour it get a little to much. 1st world problems, i know...
Is there a way to get only the humming without the drums? In the game it fits but i'd love to have the humming in its pure form solely for listening, that would sound melancholic and beautiful in itself i believe.
i have a theory that all the songs in the soundtrack are/were at one point one of Red's songs in Cloudbank, and that the humming is what the lyrics were
Seven years later in disasterous pandemia and crashing capitalism I listen to this and see how world around us becomes ruins Such irony huh And yet for me this soundtrack means so much, has so many memories. It's feels both sad and comforting, like a small safe heaven

I know that feeling.
Same.
most epic hmms ever
Super giant games deserves more publicity their games soundtrack and art is gorgeous
+Chris Curry this one felt overwhelmed by bastion so still a wonderful crafted game.
+Chris Curry Both Bastion and Transistor are amazing games with stunning visuals and moving storylines. Bastion is my favorite, though.
+Chris Curry Oh the games themselves are really, really good as well. The artstyle/visuals and soundtrack are just icing on the cake.
Absolutely agree
Ashley basically has the voice of an angel... just saying.
so true :)
Never heard an angel this good.
Her voice is very smooth
I wouldn't exactly call it angelic I mean what angel hums? But it does sound good.
yea but why didn't she get any lyrics? =/ i love her voice but the humming starts to annoy at some point.

I've never even played this game but I'm loving the soundtrack.
+Chris Hudson the game is amazing and combined with the soundtrack its my 2014 GOTY
Same here! Sometimes, I listen to it when I'm doing my homework.
Best GAME ever!
PLAY IT! :D

This captures the theme of the game phenomenally
+Vazgen Stepanosyan Yes! :D
Very regular sales and top tier customer service from SG. You should get dev awards.
This is fantastic.
I was counting on the Breached project to get these additional tracks, but of course you go and release these bonus tracks anyway.
Goddamn, Supergiant Games, you know how to be the best of the best.
I've listened to "We All Become" so much that hearing the instrumental, I could sing the lyrics along to the notes.
YES! Thank you Supergiant!!!!
You guys are amazing and one of the few studios I love to support all the way. Please continue with the amazing work you do and also thank to Darren Korb for even more beautiful music :)
This is true beauty.
Thank you for the game. Thank you for the music. Life is a little bit better.
I completed the game with 100% achievements and stuff, but i still open it every once in a while just to listen to the hummed songs.
Thanks for the upload Supergiant Games!
after Bastion and Transistor I am really eager to see what Supergiant's next game will be
+Crowbar If you want to play something worthwhile in the meantime i recommended undertale.
Amazing soundtrack, story that will suck you in... just try it!

hah, played that when it came out! I absolutely love it.

You tried Hades?

Hearing the processed voices during Signals is slightly unsettling.
Oooh, B-Sides! I do love you guys.
I fucking love you guys. NEXT GAME WHEN?
'nuff said
Whenever it is, if it's up to the quality of Bastion and Transistor, it'll be well worth the wait.

I'm sure we will hear something at E3 :)
Man the description says play the game before you listen to it but I don't have the money :c I played Bastion and loved the soundtrack so I have to listen to this!
One thing that I'm bummed that we didn't get is the alternate version of in-circles. That's with the different voice.
the last track, _n C_rcl_s is the one youre looking for?
Arbie8327 _n C_rcl_s. Last track on the Extended album.
Yea, thanks guys!
Plaguewalkerful
There's no hummed version of either one. I thought that's what he was talking about but, upon reading it again, it seems like dude was asking about _n C_rcl_s.
Arbie8327 agree with you on that one though, i wish there was the spine hummed but i guess ill have to settle for the breached version
I love how important the music was in Transistor. It was almost more important than what was taking place on screen.
Wait... is she humming Paper Boats during Blank Canvas?
Thank you for pointing that out. Instant tears.
Silas Hernandez That still doesn't make me like the ending...
Great theory though =D
+Darth Fall Can't have bittersweet without bitter...
YOU'RE GIVING ME FEELS MAN!!!!! T.T
My favorite soundtrack to listen to when I'm actually programming at work. :D
In Circles is my favorite one, methinks. This is probably in my top 5 OSTs, including the Bastion, FF XIII and Mirror's Edge OSTs.
Rayblon Wow, I LOVE all those soundtracks, I'd add in Ni No Kuni, Chrono Cross and The Witcher 3's soundtrack in there as well
Great soundtrack to listen to while study for finals. LOVE IT
thank you very much supergiant games :D
Her voice is so nice, and this music is written so well, and the game is so immersive and fun. Its just all so awesome!
Gateless is my favourite out of these songs. It made me feel like such a badass while smashing process and showing them who's boss. You can say i felt gateless.
And paper boats makes me cri evry tim , even without lyrics :'(
I love you guys so much you know that right?
It's true. It's true.
...It's true.
[slightly changed actual quote]
My favorite game, partially cuz of the music, artstile, and most important STORY. Cried at the end of the game
Finally, thank you Supergiantgames. I love it.

+emikochan13 my favourite game of all time ;) well bastion is up there to but still. (and yes i know im a year late to comment)
+indie knytt hehe np, some comments are timeless :D
Thanks so much for this, you guys are awesome!
One of the best game soundtracks of all time, along with Bastion.
Hearing this while reading watchmen, damm...
oboistas1 That is unusually appropriate.
+oboistas1 Whoa. I like that idea!
Fuck Yeah! thank you for listening to your fans and releasing the hummed Album version
as if i needed any more reason to buy this game, just bought it, and listening to this alone would be well worth the price
This is a very beautiful soundtrack i like it i think you are a future big studio stay on this way
Thanks for posting this for us :)
Welcome back old friend.
one of the best!
Video games are a culmination of different arts: music, acting, painting, modelling and story telling
These songs are so cool, love this game.
I love it! Seems like there's an error in the timing found in the description though, for example, going to 46:24 puts you halfway through Sandbox (Hummed) rather than the beginning of We All Become (Instrumental)
Transistor is amazing and combined with the soundtrack it is no doubt my 2014 GOTY
I bought the original release because it was fantastic... it just got so much better with the extended version!!
Thank you so much for having no adds!!!!!!
When you are trying to listen to the Last Of Us sound track, and there are 6 adds!! In the space of 1 hour it get a little to much.
1st world problems, i know...
This developer is just amazing.
So weird not hearing vocals on 'The spine,' luckily I know all the words!
We all become is my faviourite song here
this game is beautiful

Seven years later in disasterous pandemia and crashing capitalism I listen to this and see how world around us becomes ruins
Such irony huh
And yet for me this soundtrack means so much, has so many memories. It's feels both sad and comforting, like a small safe heaven
Best OST ever.
Thank you!
Fuck i just realized this is a special hummed version. I was kinda freaked of not remembering that it was all hummed..
There was a button in the game that you could hold to make Red hum along. :)
so good
If only Quiet could be as good .-.
Glad this game is going to be free in February
4. The Spine gives me so many Silent Hill vibes, love it
Oh God, yes! Made my day!
I just realized that the "Processed" variants of the last three songs (Vanishing Point, Gold Leaf, In Circles) have their vowel letters specifically taken out. I guess there's more thought to the naming rather than going nuts with the underscores. It makes me appreciate the names even more!
The game ending gave me goosebumps
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS!
My surgery post-op just got awesome!
Omg goosebumps...
Anyone notice the new syncopation in Vanishing Point? 15:16 the "WA WA WA" sound plays 13 times over 2 bars, where in the original, its played 12 times over 2 bars. Even the "processed" version is 12 over 2 bars.
I wonder if there are any major differences in other songs...
mmmmmmm....mmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMmmmmm......

YES YES YES! AWESOME!
amazing :D
Makes me cry T_T

now i really want a hum button in every game i play.
listen to both albums in sync * O *

I have a theory that all of these instrumentals don't have lyrics to them because they were red's planned works. So she hums to them instead because she can't pronounce the words.
The ending of the game didn't speak to me much. But when I took some time to think about it, it started to make more sense. Red isn't the "Hero of the people". She wanted to see her lover again and that was what she did. Let's hope someone else could pick up the Transistor and save the city because she only wanted her man. It feels similar to the choice to escape in Bastion. I felt the story telling is a bit underwhelming though. I hope they will make a new game like this but better.

oh my
I want to play this game so badly. :/
Played it yet?
the worst thing about this soundtrack, is that both the hummed and instrumental are so nice i dont know witch one to download!
probably end up listening to both the versions of each music and pick one by one
The first song man idk why makes me think of Samurai Champloo for some reason
By far , better than the original. The original version is still amazing though.
