They said third time is a charm,Am officially pass my bar exam now. To all my repeat test taker I pray y'all make it some day but will advise you keep reading and believing in yourself ☺️🎉
What worked for me to pass the CA bar exam on my first try is to have mapped out a study routine and stick to it - e.g., Monday-Friday: each day, do 2 times essay questions a day on rotating subjects (then go through the model answer to see what issues you missed); do 30 timed MBE questions a day a (check your answers - for the questions you answered correctly, did get it right because you understood the question, or did you get lucky? For the questions you got wrong, make a running outline on the question subject and write out the rule that you didn’t know or misunderstood); and do a performance exam question under timed conditions every other day (and again go through the model answer to see what issues you missed and to analyze the the structure of the answer). Don’t forget to take breaks throughout your study session. Rinse and repeat.
As someone whose proctored the bar exam she’s completely right. The one thing I would say is don’t worry. Any issues reach out to the proctor because they have access to the bar. Also please backup your computer before the exam you’ll thank yourself later and never give up. I had one candidate who yelled at me during the NYS bar and I pushed him to write out his answer and I was so proud when he came the second day. No matter how many times you take it Never and I mean never give up.
Can you just take a bar exam without going to law school more specifically can I just show up pay the fee for the test and try to bs my way through it like Leonardo Dicaprio?
The pass rate for first time 2022 CA bar exam takers who did not attend a ABA accredited law school was 30% and 16% for those who attended correspondence law schools. I image the pass rate for those who didn’t attend any law school is even lower. Part of the reason why the pass rate for students from ABA accredited law schools is 71% is because all you’re doing throughout your 3 years of law school is taking law school exams, so by the time you graduate, you’ve had a ton of practice for the bar exam.
Isn’t excelling a good thing too though please tell me somebody has an actually scored 100 on that test because everything I hear it’s a pain in the butt there’s no way less than 1% may get 100%
Hi Cece, I am a foreign lawyer considering to take the bar exam and I am confused between (NY, Cali and Florida). I don't know whether I will practice in the USA one day or not. I am just expanding my chances in the future. Would you give me your advice which bar exam to take and why from your opinion? Thanks in advance
I wouldn't put the cart before the horse here--getting admitted to a state bar then carries with it a slew of ongoing obligations (mandatory trainings and reporting obligations, as well as registration costs). Identify what job you're aiming for in the U.S. first and then figure out which state it will likely require bar admission in, and then sit for the bar in that state.
Why on earth would you think taking another country’s bar exam as a foreign national would improve your chances of passing? You realize the Korean bar exam isn’t written in Hindi, right?
My brother told me "C's get degrees" all the time when I was in college and it saved me - affirmations really help

No, go to an ABA approved school. That lets you sit for it in all 50 states.
