- Pinpointing the exact area of the paper path that is causing jams on my Konica Minolta 1200 Pro digital printing press. Probably similar for the newer models as well. I'm excited to hook up some lights in the future, if my idea works. Thanks for watching and thanks for subscribing!
You are really a Pro... Congratulations and wish you all the best.
Thanks a lot!
New to the chanel but really enjoying every video I was an offset litho printer for 45 years and loved every minute
Glad you like them. Offset is where I cut my teeth.
@@justaprinter funny I operated Heidlberg and Komori 6 colour presses as well as the Colour J Web press with side un winds that gave a 4 part glued perforated and numbered set but the digital stuff baffles me
Keep the videos coming they are great
Hope your 2 kids are in the vest of health
All the best from John Robertson in Scotland
Reminds me of a song from technotrin. Pump up the Jams. Thank you for the videos and keep up the great work. I look forward to your posts.
Thanks for watching!
We had a very tricky jamming error with our 6136P, this machine is positioned near a window front, every day at around 1pm the machine started jamming .. long story short, the sun was at a specific angle and shined right into a sensor (can't remember which one) and jammed the machine.
Oh man, that is an interesting issue. Thanks for sharing!
Blazer #100 gloss 12x18 is our go to house sheet been running it for years both offset and digital
Good to know. Its becoming my house sheet too!
I run Blazer gloss 100# txt and 80# txt and cover. I like it so far. Running on an Xante Enpress. No issues so far. Still having issues getting 60 offset and envelopes here in Ohio. Even so issues getting colored bond. Western States envelope is 55 to 60 days on custom orders to be made and 32- 38 days on normal stock orders if they are out. Like #9 window. It's crazy out there. So ordering stock where and when I can. Have a good one brother! Stay safe out there!
Same to you!
Some more stuff to check for J-3901 Codes. Underneath the belt cleaner unit is a sensor that sits horizontally. It can collect dust and cause some strange intermittent jams. You may also need to check the three conveyance rollers next to the sensors. They can swell up and slide off the hubs of the rollers. NCR paper can cause the rollers to swell up over time. I think the green ADU handle and the ADU front covers need to come off. The fuser unit and belt unit will need to come out too. The belt cleaner is held in with four screws and a couple of grounding wires. I have had certain jobs with high coverage cause jams in document feeders. Changing the direction or side that is fed first can help with jams. Optical sensors don't always like high coverage.
thanks for the education. I'll have to take a look at that sensor.
A lot of good comments here on the Fiery hanging issue. I have encountered situations where files with a lot of vector content, including a large number of fonts, have been troublesome to print. Colleagues have noted that files that have had the vectors rasterized prior to printing, while larger, sometimes much larger, can rip and print without the system hanging. As others have indicated, possibly relates to a combination of ram, disc space, and the amount of processing required? A lot of unknowns!
Seriously! There are many factors.
Face Down vs Face Up: Face down will start printing soon after it has started processing the job. Face up it will process the entire job before printing. So, if you have a large document, I've had the Fiery choke and stop. I think ultimately it is just a memory issue.
Yep, that's also my guess. If this occurs and for some reason you don't want to switch to printing face down I'd suggest to send the job in parts to the machine (i.e. page 1-50, then 51-100 etc.) to make the files smaller.
That makes sense. Although I would have thought that the software would just reverse the page RIP sequence to rip last page first.
@@justaprinter That was my thought. Then I had to run a very large document face up and wondered why it was taking an incredibly long time for the first sheet to come out. When I looked it was still processing. Didn't print until the entire file was processed.
Just wanted to say hello! I own Des Moines Printing in Iowa. I run KM’s and also having a hard time getting any paper.
Sorry to hear paper is a problem for you too! Thanks for commenting!
Thanks Dan really enjoyed your videos
Thanks for watching!
Hi I’m also a printer but a very small one loved your channel and your content
Awesome! Thank you!
Running Blazer Digital (13x19 100# Cover, 12x18 80# Cover) for about 4 years now. Great for what I use it for. We recently were dealing with a shortage of it locally so when it does come in I have to stock up with what I can.
Good to hear!
Fiery memory can fill up quick when messing with face up and face down printing. It is a gamble. As for Blazer, exclusively the coated sheet in my shop for last 8 years. Never have had a problem.
Good to hear, I like Blazer so far.
Forget the pole, wire a siren or car horn into the signal tower's error light. Productivity increase guaranteed. Actually, you were talking about phone notifications, they have industrial contact closure devices that will send you an e-mail or push notification. You could wire one into the light contacts.
Good idea! A 12v train horn would do the trick!
It’s funny all I run is blazer digital and Kelly digital! Accent opaque is nice
They all work well
It may have already been in your videos, but I suggest paying special attention to idc sensors. Correct color reproduction and print quality depend very much on their purity.
I don;t mention them too much, but yes, you are correct!
I assume you are intending to make the stalk of the light display longer / taller.. what about actually hanging it off the roof and just extend the wires to run across the roof, down the wall and then across or under the floor with the power cable..
You're thinking like me. I think I'll put lights high up on the conduit. I'm excited to try this but not sure if I will have time this week!
We run tons of blazer gloss text and cover both 11x17 and 12x18. Runs great and look super. Also run accent 80 lbs for business cards and mailing cards.
Love your channel even thoughwe run.all cannon 10000s
Canon makes great machines too. I have always kind of wanted one.
My guess is besides labor shortages and sick outs is that consumables that are used by paper manufacturers like chemicals, pulp wood, corrugated boxes, pallets, etc etc as well as parts to keep their machines up and running are becoming hard to come by and that we are seeing the trickle down effects. Throw in the logistics issues in trucking and transportation and the supply chain pipeline slows to a crawl and may even stop at some point before things get better. 12 countries have woke up and done away with all covid restrictions so hopefully the rest will follow their lead and things will start to get back to normal. We can hope & pray anyway.
I'm hoping so too, but part of me thinks we will have a rough year.
Blazer is nice paper, but it’s a little more expensive than Pacesetter. Blazer was the go to when we sourced paper from Veritiv.
Yes, its very similar to my typical FLO
Hey Dan! Love the channel man ! I work at a pretty big print shop in Camden N.J called Rondo-Pak maybe you heard of it ? But anyway couldn’t help to comment on the paper situation because my company is going nuts trying to get stock in the building ! We also deal with Lindenmeyr and few others
It is crazy, it just doesn't make sense to me. How can nobody be making paper.?
Loved the Bob Marley comment. 😆
Its great! LOL.
Adding a pole to the lights is not needed. Hang a mirror high up on the wall at the end of the room. You'll be able to aee it fine. If a mirror costs too much, grab some foam core board or even posterboard or cardboard left from a delivery. Hit it it with spray adhesive and glue down some aluminum foil, shiny side out. This will cost next to nothing. Works fine. You'll be able to see the light color from anywhere.
Thats a great idea! I have another ides too!
Plz share 950 machine eye senssor cleaning method
Hey Dan, I love your videos! I learned a lot from them. I have a KM C2060 and I'm planning to run PVC and PET sheets on it to create laminated plastic gift cards. I already tried the PET as it withstand higher temperature and it runs fine however the colours are not great (it's the nature of the product). Do you think I could run PVC as well?
Probably. I used to run polyester labels and other synthetics but I don't anymore. I have plenty of other printing to do so I turn it away now. Besides static was horrible on synthetics.
From where you learned the Pre-press? Any resource that can help newcommers
I learned that in college. Watch youtube and google issues. I should do more prepress videos. Thanks for the tip!
hi, my name is ayyub, i am a self published author and i am starting to get a lot of wholesale orders on short notice and i was self published with kdp but they take way to long to ship to me so i thought it would be best to just pay for all of the machines and just do it myself so i am just trying to figure how exactly would i go about making a 6 by 9 book with a glossy cover and creamy paper.
Watch my shop tour, or how I make books video. You will need a printer, lamiantor, cutter and perfect binder to start. Go for it, its how my parents started this business.
Dan how to do take your payment I mean what percent is advance and total balance is it online because I think your customer never visit your shop physically
I take payment by check or credit card. Its mostly repeat business so my customer just sends a check.
i have a problem J-1707 (Mishandled paper) always paper jam on konika c1060
Probably just a dirty paper feed clutch. During operation: Within a specified period of time after the pre-registration clutch (CL102) of the LU becomes active, the intermediate conveyance sensor/1 (PS12) does not become active.

at the expense of blocking the alarm lamp, monitor. hang, in the right corner, an ordinary mirror, as in buses that are hung above the door. fasten it at such an angle that the alarm can be seen from the place where it is not visible. you can fix the mirror on the mount, as for monitors that are mounted on the wall. or buy the same, bus, convex mirror. such mirrors, in your shops, are hung up to observe the buyers who are in the blind viewing zone.
I hope google translator translated my message correctly.
Someone else mentioned that too. Great idea!
You need to try and find Titan paper. Good running paper.
Hmm, I'll look into that.
I would first check the hard drive on the Fiery first, it's 10x more likely to be failing/have failed than having a bad RAM stick. You can connect the drive to a different computer and run Crystal Disk Info or if you can remote desktop on the Fiery, there should be a portable version of Crystal Disk Info that you can copy to a USB stick and run the program directly from the Fiery and it will report to you the health of the drive that is installed.
Good to know. I just might do that.
Hi, I was looking to get a folder inserter for sports cards and was wondering if you had an recommendations? Don’t necessarily need it to be super quick. Just was looking for something that’s self-automated so I don’t have to stand their all day putting cards into envelopes lol
Try a inserter like mine.
I think you should have all the presses on the floor. Could do all the more jobs simultaineously.
Oh man! That would be nice but I'm running out of space, I need to figure out stacking them up.
@@justaprinter maybe home depot industrial pallet racking... the stuff they use in the wood area, it has rubber on the connections to deal with vibration?
It has been long since watching your videos. learned a lot about printing business. we have a bizhub c450 colour printer here in Pakistan. It does not accept magenta cartridge even installing new one it indicates to change. do you have any idea what to do?
Sorry, I am not familier with that machine. Could be a dirty sensor maybe?
I have had it on Xerox machines, when printing faceup or face down will cause jams... Very odd, i've always assumed it was a problem with the paper curling after hitting the fuser. The other option is to flip the paper over in the tray. I'm guessing it's doing the same thing?
Its weird. It wouldn't jam, it would just stop printing the job.
@@justaprinter I think it maybe to do with processing. When it prints the job one way, (face up) it processes while printing and stopping for a little while then prints a few more sheets. the other way it will process the whole job, wait and the print. maybe it hangs up when printing and processing at the same time on the fiery?
Maybe try prosessing before sending to the print queue.
Can you post a link to where you found the service manual?
Just realized that was your b/w and not your color machines so never mind!
I bought one off eBay for my color machine.
I can send you the service manual for the C1060/C1070 if you'd like.
I can send you one. justaprinterman@gmail.com
hi from turkey
Awesome! I love Turkey! Thanks for watching!
I have a konica c1060, can you share your konica c1060 Manual pdf?
Send me an email at justaprinterman@gmail.com
250 GSM paper ok.but 300 GSM not print.
👍
YES!
Firmware error, You must install MFP FW Ver.40
It prints fine now, not sure that it is firmware issue.
Just replace the ram and you will be good.
I think I'll start with a reinstall, I'll keep you all updated.
HI I am new
Welcome!
ssd
SSD is much faster to boot up as well.
Yes, SSD's are awesome!
Man, you need a rest--a Sabbath day kind of rest! You work too much! I see that the printing press has a Dell monitor just like I have a Dell keyboard. I call my computer my "Keyboard," because it is my strong typewriter. Well, anything that man had made is not perfect like man himself. You may need some Dell all-in-one PCs to connect to your presses, so there would be no need for tower cases stack on top of the press. I hate to see a "gentleman" like you go down. I hope you will not reach an era to lose one single job.
