Those pouches being an off color are actually accurate to some suits. You can see on the Magic of Myth Scout Trooper that is on exhibit it has these color pouches. It's one of the sources people could readily see and the pouches on that suit are an off white/cream color. Most scouts on the set definitely have white pouches but you'll see pictures of scouts with these color pouches and many of the legion members replicate this look as well. Just one of those quirks really.
As I said in the video, I know they’re supposed to more beige, however I was surprised at how drastic the difference is
@@JustinsCollection I just went back and re-watched the entire 28 minute review and you not once acknowledged they're supposed to be that color. You talk about the color "mismatch" and how it's not the biggest deal in the world. Later on in the video you talk about it again saying how the soft parts are supposed to be more weathered than the armor and how its too saturated. They're not that color because of weathering, they were just that color to begin with. The MOTM display really shows it. I only mentioned this initially in case people were considering passing on this thinking the color was just wrong.
The helmet also is supposed to have that gap as well. The Mandalorian Scout used the EFX bucket... that bucket has lineage to the original helmet derived from the original wood bucks, albeit idealized for modern collectors much like many stormtrooper helmets have been. The armor from the Mandalorian was sourced by a fan creator which is why the armor is drastically different in the mandalorian version as mentioned in your review. That being said, because the EFX helmet used in mando had lineage to the original, it was already accurate to ROTJ in that regard so hot toys just reused that helmet mold. You can see those gaps on the EFX kit.
At the end of the day the Star Wars universe is just littered with quirks like that. Your reviews are absolutely fantastic and really show every detail possible. They have helped me decide on whether I want a hot toys or not for sure! It's the closest and best thing we get to "seeing it in person" when we order these expensive collectibles online so thank you so much for that!

Wednesday August 10th my Scout Trooper will arrive! Will arrive. Had to get the regular version couldn't afford the bike. He looks far superior to Sideshows. That sniper gun sold me. Has my favorite Stormtrooper from the original trilogy. I'm so glad he comes with the regular wrist pegs. I'm not looking forward to changing up the Darth Vader hands. The Star Wars one, yes I still call A New Hope Star Wars I was 4 in 1977, are nice and easy to change. I would have rathered a little gap in new upcoming Vader with the regular pegs instead of the ones he's coming with.

I actually think the helmet sculpt isn't a problem. Basically, the one everyone says this isn't accurate to is one of may actors. The first one you see who says "freeze" to Leia, does have a gap in the helmet, however it isn't as pronounced. You can easily imagine this guy as one of many imperial scouts who had a slightly bigger head. So no biggie for me! The cummerbund though is a little off for me. Other than that, fantastic figure.

I currently have the mandalorian scout and speeder set with an additional scout trooper to recreate that scene and was wondering if these were different at all. Glad to see that they do have differences and I just might have to get at least 1 of the ROTJ versions. Would love the speeder bike as well, but I just don't have much room for it. Glad to see this review as I was wondering how the ROTJ set was different than the Mando version and happy to see there are differences, especially the trooper and Hot Toys didn't take a shortcut. That being said I really like the ROTJ set as the wind burn effects on the speeder stand out so much on the darker color set.

The fabric section around his waist is supposed to be that different colour. All of the scout trooper action figures from Jedi have that section painted in exactly the same way. Hot Toys got that right.

One of my favorite figures of Star Wars, even helmet mistake with this version. 1st are Stormtroopers/Sandtroopers/Tie pilots. 2nd Snowtroopers/AT-AT troopers/Scouttroopers. 3rd Shoretroopers/Mudtroopers. 4th Deathtroopers/Gunnertroopers. 5th Patrol troopers/Death Star Navy Security Guards.

@@JustinsCollection i have 13 SSC stormtroopers and 6 HT ROTJ stormtroopers. I had no chance to get ANH Stormtroopers at that time for high prices and i hope HT Would re-release them agian and also ESB version i sent to HT SEVERAL MAILS ABOUT THIS topic of ANH and ESB Stormtroopers and they rerelease again ROTJ version instead of ANH and new ESB version.
I only like Original Trilogy Stormtroopers (i do not like other stormtroopers made by Disney).
Also i have 14 SSC Santroopers with 1 SSC Dewback and 1 HT Squad Leader Sandtrooper.
I got only 4 SSC Tie pilots at that time cause prices increased much. I have 2 SSC AT-AT pilots cause prices increased a lot.
I have 12 SSC Snowtroopers and 3 HT Snowtroopers (battle front version but work well with SSC) and one custom Snowscouttroooper with a white and dark green/gray camouflage for the Snowscouttrooper (Hasbro bike).
I have 5 SSC Scout troopers and 1 SSC speeder Bike and 1 new HT Scout trooper with one speeder bike.
I have 4 Death Troppers specialists and regular of Rogue One. All paudron flaked and i have to get new with real leather but SSC pauldrons, older, still endure without flaking. I HATE HT PLEATHER! 260€ per figure and all shoulder pauldrons flaked...Enough of this HT.
I have 2 HT patrol troopers of Solo story, i have 3 HT Mudtroopers and 1 Customized Officer with armor and raincoat and ammo pouches and rank of captain.
I have 7 ANH version black stormtroopers officers customized from Commander Praji, 2 Death star Operations bureau officers with grey jacket and black pants customized, I have 6 SSC Navy officers customized from Admiral Piett uniform. HT Director Krennic and another custom officer with Krennic, and Grand Moff Tarkin, of course.
And i have 19 HT Shoretroopers, 1 captain, 2 squad leaders, 14 grunts and 2 customized specialists painted with red marks (battle front version that works perfect and make figures not being all same) with sharpshooter rifles.
I have also 1 Tank commander and 2 grunts customized, having anoher commander untouched yet but i will customize him as a AT-ACT pilot seen in Rogue One Battle of Scarif.
I also have 8 SSC ANH X-wing pilots customized Red reader, Red 2, Red 3, Red 4, Red 5, Red 6, Red 7 and Red 10, waiting for the BBK 4 female pilot figures wating for arrival in 3rd quarter, i hope they make them well so i will be able to make more pilots and also Gold leader and Gold 5.
I have also 2 SSC Luke pilot Hoth version customized, and another 12 HT Luke pilot figures also customized head changed but 1 Luke as original, making Wedge Antilles, Zev Senesca, Wes Janson, Hobbie Klivian, Dak Ralter and other stunt pilots watched in the ESB movie.
Also i have 5 Rebel Navy troopers and another 4 more customized. And also i have customized Rebel honor Guards (battle front version, with endor helmet painted in grey/white off.
Also i am customizing 8 Rebel Marine troopers Rogue One battle of Scarif, including Cassian Andor and original HT Chirrut and Jyn Erso and K2SO. Waiting for Baze Malbus if HT release him this year and no more delays. And also Cassian Andor Rogue On
I customized General Rieekan and Major Derlin high ranks Echo Base officers, battle of Hoth ESB.
Also i customized 4 ROTJ officers including General Madine for Battle of Endor with 1 Bothan as officer also. I am customizing also Aldmiral Ackbar with new white boots better than Habro/kenner's boots. Of course i have all main characters of ANH and ESB and ROTJ also customized Han Solo white shirt, blue jacket and brown pants similar you did with new boots.
I changed of SSC Hoth Cold weather clothes Han Solo head for another better head sculpt found in Ebay and fixed in his helmet (i used Blade runner Harrison Ford's head (1982) and ESB was in 1983, So Harrison Ford did not change anything.
Also i did same with SSC Luke Hoth uniform, changind head for one new head of HT ESB pilot that looks perfect.
Also i have customized ESB HOTH ground battle troopers and Colonel Firest from SSC Luke figures changing heads fixing on helmets and some costumes and accessories added.
And also i customized more staff officers and technicians wached in the Hoth Echo Base.
I have also K-3PO captain white droid with 2 red dots of left chest and R-3PO Red as an imperial counterespionage droid. And others R2-R3-R5 droids wached in Echo base that are WIP.
And R2-R3-R5 Droids watched on the Battle of Yavin 4 going on X-wings with their pilots, not all, but many of main characters.
And R4 droid used in ANH seen in the assault of the Tantive 4 during the stormtrooper assault and when the rebels are taken prisoner.
And i am also customizing 7 Jabba's guards and skiff guards, that neither HT and SSC will release them ever.
I have 7 mandalorian some customized and others original from Death Watch, Axe Woves, and i will customized more with another Bo-Katan figure changing helmet and another figure as Koska Reeves, and Axe Woves for Mandalorians with minor changes, changing paint of helmets and armors and some new paints on some armors also so they will seem different figures with other female and male heads sculpts.
And many more... i have 5 of 7 SSC Bounty hunters, 5 SSC Gamorrean Guards, SSC Lando Skiff guard disguise. And Jabba's orginal Band of ROTJ 1983 version. And a Customized Leia slave with ACPLAY acceasories and head, phicen suntan body mid bust instead of big bust. And look much better. Almost as real as the actress and character.
Jedis of prequel episodes 1, 2 3, Queen Amidala episode 1, Ahoska Clones Wars, Commander Rex, Captain Vaughn, Padme episode 2 AOTC, SSC Darth Maul but waiting for the last and newest Darth Maul annouknced, Kit Fisto ROTS, Mace Windu for multiple choices as Clone Wars, Episodes 1,2 or 3, and Anaking AOTC.
Also new Mandalorian/BOBF Fennec Shand, Boba Fett with throne, Cobb Vanth, Cad Bane, Paz Visla 2.0 version, Moff Gideon, Kuiil and Blurrg, Djarin Mando season 1 and 2, Tisken Raiders with a huge Bantha made by a good friend here in Europe. 2 Eopies different sizes, another Blurrg, 2 Tusken raiders' Massiffs, Hasbros' Watto episodes 1, 2 of prequels.
I have 2 Snowspeeder T-47 ships (orange version made by my friend Phil customs and grey version for Luke made by Jazzinc), 1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit made by Jazzinc. And Millennium falcon Computer small diorama also, not Cargo Hold, made also by Jazzinc. In the future i might make a bacground with carboard behind to make a small diorama, but i could buy whole cargo hold that i love it, but much money to spend iand i could not afford that money cause real life, family, health and job are first.

Out of all three in my opinion the Return of the Jedi Scout Trooper blows the other 2 away. Best representation of a scout trooper I have yet seen. I really don't like the Mandalorian ones as I stated many times I am not a fan of Disney I'm not a fan of the Mandalorian but when I did watch the show I thought that the outfit was a lot closer to The Return of the Jedi one that it actually is. I came very close to buying him because the Return of the Jedi Scout Troopers on my favorite kind of Stormtroopers and the original trilogy. My favorite troopers over all are the Attack of the Clones Phase 1 Clone Trooper, from the entire Saga episodes 1 through 6. But I remember the reason why I did not buy the Mandalorian Scout Trooper the same day he became available through sideshow they announced the Return of the Jedi one so that right there made my decision. And I started comparing the two through the pics that they had on this site and the Return of the Jedi Scout Trooper just blows away the Mandalorian one on every level. The only thing I can say about the Mandalorian one that I think looks cool is the weathering I like the fact that they really dirty. And I'm really hoping Hot Toys will release a phase 1 clone that's absolutely filthy. Just like the sideshow veteran one. I'm sure they will but who knows when the 20th anniversary Attack of the Clones figures will even be out.

This too is my favorite Trooper! Better than the Mando definitely! Clearly they are not going to waste money making a new helmet, yes is lazy and am not giving them credit is just financial sense. I would have liked a new helmet for sure but it is what it is am just glad we got another figured and not the old flimsy one from sideshow.

I made an imperial assault on Hoth diorama for Christmas 3 years ago, because I’m an idiot.
I have 4 Sideshow snow troopers and 1 Hasbro.
I only switched the Hasbro gun for Sideshows.

I wouldn’t call that gap a problem. In Star Wars their helmets have a flip up face plate hence why there’s a gap and a hinge on the helmet.
I mean it’s normally closed or open. I don’t see anyone displaying Vader with his mask half on

Just can't handle the weathering on the remnant troopers from Mando. It's probably accurate but makes the armor look like a dirty toilet. #toilettrooper
Having said that i love the large scale speeder bikes and agree with Justin that the crisp white speeder looks great.

The helmet is Off. The curved edge of the jaw is soo extreme. The "eye bag" line around the visor is too much, and too droopy. What a shame its not perfect.

HT was a little too accurate with that gap helmet. No one would have cared if they fixed the on set issue. And they definitely should have avoided the gap if they knew they wouldn't fix it on this figure. Too bad. The gap is unsightly.

Just checked on the SW chronicles AND Lucasfilms archives books AND the photos of the scout troopers from ROTJ clearly have that Gap on the helmets, these are books from 1997, so it's accurate I Guess, gonna check the movie AND see If the gap Is noticeable on film
@@patclau006 Interesting. i checked some Jedi footage. The seam is pretty tight on the Trooper Han fights. No gap like on the Mando helmet.
@@MBDyson829 Yes watching it now, the médium shots of the trooper has the helmet tightly sealed with no Gap, Also checked My Jakks pacífic big figs 19" scout troopers AND they also sculpted the Gap but not as wide as Hoy toys, My Guess Is that the sculptors used reference material from Lucasfilm that showed the gap in the helmet
