He was probably at the height of his athletic skills. He did slow down in the 90s, lost some of his quickness, but also added muscle.

How was MJ that good? It seems like he's playing Basketball against players in the G League. But they are professional NBA players. He makes them look silly. How did Karl Malone not get a foul after an elbow to the face on Michael? Every vintage game I watch, Jordan sticks out like a sore thumb because he is just that good.

People get caught up in laughing at the fact that the Bulls couldn't get past the Pistons back then but there's a reason why the Pistons were basically manhandling him they simply had to and the refs let them do it. Nowadays they'd be crying about how they're going to hurt this 300 million dollar contract player, pretty much the way they protect quarterbacks in the NFL.

  • @thegrandpencil4374

@@gregshirley-jeffersonboule6258 Oh, you mean the Celtics that played in a league that had like, eight teams and you only had to advance one round to get to the NBA finals?
Yeah, I'll take the Bulls, who won six of eight in the modern era, and who never lost in the finals (like the Celtics did), over them.

Karl Malone should've known better than to poke the bear. One of the greatest players in NBS history and greatest power forward. Malone played dirty often. But nobody was really going to give Malone hard time. He was HUGE. 3rd all time leading scorer in NBA history.
The problem with Karl was that he played in the Jordan era. MJ is the GOAT, an astounding closer, unlike Malone. But he messed with the NBAs poster boy. So he didn't win a chp and the guys with the whistles made sure of that. But the Bull's were also a better, DEEPER team. And they had top rebounder/defensive assassin, Rodman, best point forward in that era, best deep shooter forward in Tony K, Ron Harper and best bench.

If you watch closely, Malone's arm was well in front of Jordan's head. Jordan was fakin'. Malone truly did elbow people on purpose, but because he did, people can't see something like this for what it is. No foul, Michael was fakin' it.

    • @Codesta

Couldn’t see anything clearly. Lots of arms everywhere. He wouldn’t get any advantage in that instance anyway. The ball was already at the other end of the court. MJ has never been a flopper.
