Lindo, you have the right mind set. you'll go far. I have a similar view. i came from a dis-advantaged background. I studied Computer Science & Maths. I did not struggle with Maths coz it was in my blood and loved it, but then Computer Science i struggled a lot. I had never been exposed to computers until i got to university i had no reference. I had to start from scratch while other kids from better backgrounds just got the hang of it. But i had the right mind set as well. I remember is begged my father to buy me a desktop PC, becoz i needed to spend extra hours practicing programming, Lab time was not enough. I eventually go the PC, i literally spend most of my time on a PC in my room. I managed to conquer the Edge in the end.

Hi lindo i know you must have answered this before, coming back to this video for the second time now because i have questions. I just wanted to know if i can still be accepted with a level 6 in physical sciences or are my chances of being accepted low. I want to apply for aeronautical engineering with my term 4 grade 11 and term 1 hrade 12 results. Its level 7 physical sciences in grade 11 and level 6 now in grade 12, so im a bit worried if the 6 might affect my chances of being accepted ❤thank you
Hello, The final decision will be based on your final matric results..when you submit your application, they want GRADE 11 results..NOT. term 1 grade 12 ...unless they have changed the process ....
Min requirement when applying with final Gr 11 is code 5 in English, Math and Physics ... these are minimum. My son was waitlisted for Mech and Aero with his final Gr 11 marks: 6 English and 5 in both Math and Physics. Matric marks went to Code 7 for English and Math, and Code 6 for Physics. He got an offer for Mech and accepted, and thereafter also received an offer for Aero. He did Mech in 1st year and swopped to Aero in 2nd. The courses are the same in first 2 years. It is a tough course... course load and time constraints are hectic ... my boy has this year failed some 2nd year modules but he is determined to finish his degree. Have a passion for Aero (and engineering), have a very strong work ethic, allow yourself some setbacks and grow from them... get yourself 1 or 2 good friends (fellow students) to go through this journey with you. All of the best. Sorry for the long message but I get excited when people pursue their dreams.
To play??? Ahh well not so much of playing ..... They are mostly used for academic experiments purposes...But I'm pretty sure if you really want to test something outside the designed scope, you can maybe convince them, then they can allow you to use the tunnels under supervision ...
@@LindoMtsweni I was just being humourus😅, but you've answered my question perfectly... Speaking of experiments outside academics, would wits allow a program like 'Formula Student' to exist ? It would be so cool.
