Ironically I just destroyed Mercer Frey just yesterday. Adding insult to injury, I trapped his soul in a black soul gem and enchanted a pair of ragged britches. 🤣
ConnorTheNative I still love the look (graphics) of the old Thief games. If they were to port the first two games to PS4 and Xbox One it would look old but the charm would be there if they keep the old look.
@ConnorTheNative Disagree. It wasn't Thief at its best for sure, and I have my fair share of complaints. Nonetheless, it was a game I thoroughly enjoyed (all HUD and help options off). The tactile nature of animations and gameplay pulled me in, if I was willing to ignore the flaws (which I was). Story could use work, loading zones could use ALOT of work, and ROPE ARROW SYSTEMS could use the most; it had simply the most potential but did not achieve what it was capable of. Yes I played Thief 1 and Metal age, along w/ Deadly Shadows. Loved the hell out of them as I played them at launch since they were my first introduction to stealth games, and also the standard by which I judge all others.
Stephen claims he got lucky the day he answered the call to audition for Garrett in 1997. Uhhh, I'd say it's us the fans that got lucky! Can you imagine Thief without Stephen's legendary voice? :D
Part of what makes Russell stand out is that, incidental or not, he has consistently landed himself in quality sandbox/immersive sim games. Thief, Dishonored, Skyrim/Fallout. He even points out the signifigance to working again with old Looking Glass members. Seems like he goes out of his way to involve himself in a particular niche where folks will recognize him.
First time heard Nick Valantine said a word in Fallout 4, i were excited and realise he is voice actor from Skyrim too (some merchant in RiverWood if it is)... comfort feel come right up and i pick him as companion already *** I just found Lydia Voice, the one from Child of atom
100% agree, if I remember correctly I had just purchased a new camera like the week prior and messed with the settings while having no idea what I was doing! 😆 But thank you! Feedback is always appreciated!!
I whole heartedly agree. This was a couple of years ago when I did not realize things like that hahaha. It has since been remedied, but seriously thank you for watching and thank you for the feedback!!
@@heroshotmedia1848 Of course lmao. Sorry if I came off as harsh. You're a seriously positive dude, and I respect that a whole lot. You made a good video overall :)
Not a problem whatsoever, I always welcome constructive criticism! Now you’ve got time thinking about it and I wish I could go back and shorten the intro! Hahahaha
I hate this guy's voice. It's so grating and annoying. In Skyrim he voices like over 50 different npcs and it's very immersion breaking to hear Mercer Frey one moment and then some random necromancer in a cave has the SAME VOICE as Mercer Frey, the current leader of the Thieves Guild. It's bs.
@@heroshotmedia1848 No. Why is that a "big pile of bs"? I simply don't like his voice AND I would prefer npc's to have unique voices and not have a single voice actor voice dozens of npc's without much difference in his voice when voicing those other npc's.
His normal voice is just....PURE VALENTINE
I'm glad i was born in this generation
He’s such a great guy too!
saaame ;w;
I watched an interview and his voice is almost pure DiMA! Changes a lot.
men has 2 moods
"glad i was born in this generation"
"wish i was born in an earlier generation"
It is really weird listening to him just talk because it’s hard not hear Nick Valentine or Mercer Frey.
Right? His voice is so distinctive it’s hard not to hear anything else haha
Ironically I just destroyed Mercer Frey just yesterday. Adding insult to injury, I trapped his soul in a black soul gem and enchanted a pair of ragged britches. 🤣
Some may call this junk... me? I call them treasures.
❤
"Bad time to get lost friend"
Glory to the Many,
lol
I love the voice of nick valentine its a lot deeper when he's nick
This guy's range is unreal
Dude, right??
I RLLY WANTED HIM TO SAY "JACKASS" SO BADLY LMAO idk why
He’s quite honestly adorable especially his
“Heeeeaaah.” When He pushed the mic over at 0:55
And such a genuinely nice guy!
"You and me, we're the only people around who aren't complete fool"
They should have had him voice Garrett on Thief 2014.
ConnorTheNative I still love the look (graphics) of the old Thief games. If they were to port the first two games to PS4 and Xbox One it would look old but the charm would be there if they keep the old look.
Thief 1 and 2 are still my favorite games of all time. Nothing to this date has beaten it and I doubt it will.

You can tell his normal voice is just valentine. Garret is my favorite voice by him
Garrett is hand's down one of my favorite fictional characters of all time.
"Take a good look around, I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for"
Oh my gosh his Nick Valentine was AMAZING, he felt like a real life character!
He’s one of a kind for sure!
“This better be important, I’m quite busy...”
Stephen claims he got lucky the day he answered the call to audition for Garrett in 1997.
Uhhh, I'd say it's us the fans that got lucky! Can you imagine Thief without Stephen's legendary voice? :D
Right?? What a freaking legend!
And I would say it was skill, not luck!
Agreed
I love Stephen. He's an amazing voice actor and just seems like a real upstanding guy.
Buccura hey was so great!!
I can hear similarity’s between Nick and his voice actor

Good call my friend.
@@heroshotmedia1848 Here's hoping that he's a big part of Starfield, ES6, and any big Arkane projects coming along! :)
I'd love to hear him do a reading of 50 Shades of Grey in Belethor's voice.
I think we all would be better people if we could hear something like that.
Ive actually always seen him as Mercer Frey, as i grew up with skyrim
That’s so awesome! He’s done so many different things!
I feel weird when game character's voice actor talks in real life
It’s a little weird right? Haha
IM ALL EARS
he sounds like if nick was a bit of a happier, younger guy
Hahaha good call!
First time heard Nick Valantine said a word in Fallout 4, i were excited and realise he is voice actor from Skyrim too (some merchant in RiverWood if it is)... comfort feel come right up and i pick him as companion already

Ugh if I ever get a chance to see let alone meet this man irl I will literally die happy no matter what the rest of my existence is like
Such a great guy!!
This man will always be Garrett and Benny to me. I wish I could have been there to meet Stephen. lol
Such a great guy!
Don't forget all the Hammerites. I was dumbstruck when I found out he voiced them too.
6:12 lol that passive dismissive jab at Thi4f and whatshisface voicing nuGarrett
Eidos, give the rights over Thief to "OtherSide Entertaiment" and maybe we will have a true Thief 4.
I hope so
Or Arkane!
Wow the only video I've seen without a single dislikes
Hahaha! Who could dislike Mr. Russell?
'TIS BUT A SCRATCH
Ah, every other male in Skyrim
Hahahaha
I could never hear Nick Valentine with any other voice actor, Stephen was undoubtibly the bet person ever chosen to voice Nick!
Perfect voice for Corvo
Having Nick as a dad tbh.
Never thought he'd be a Spiderman fan!
This guy is awesome.
Ain’t that the truth!
He had to be my favorite voice actor
These....TAFFERS have no respect for such BEAUTIFUL things!
He sounds more like a Happier Dima than Nick tbh
do i make myself clearrrr?
River wood trader?
My talents are much needed in morthal.
Codsy for me
codsworth
Do come baaack
If Bethesda is so smart, why are their games so bugged? cough cough fallout 4
deereboy8400 Hahaha gottem!
Yep. Great voice acting, good story, lackluster (almost terrible) gameplay.
"It just works" - Todd Howard at bethesda's e3 showcase of FO4
Dishonored 2 is a different story.
@@ripspaz Dishonored 2 was developed by Arkane.
It seems like I can hear more Karras than Garrett or the Many (male part)
Love the interview, needed more saturation though.

Who's Nick? He's Garrett.
Stephen voiced nick valentine from fallout 4.
