800' is NOT the original length! When I worked the bait shop there it measured out at 998' so they are once again trying to short the citizens. These new Politicians like Cooley/Johnston suck as they've also defaulted on nearly a 1 million dollar grant for the City previously. Fishermen have tried giving input and as someone that has fished that Pier since the late 80's the City and Engineers are set in their ways and don't listen very well
998 just 3 feet short of 1,000 It most likely was 1,000'.... Rebuild it in wood like original... It will last 100 years... But in the future.... They may have better treated wood... Just Rebuild it in wood It should last 100 years...
@@Anonymous-tl6zu as I stated above, when I worked there I walked it w/the State guy who was measuring it after a hurricane and it measured something like 804-805' or so. I approached the City Manager yrs. back when I was at the Fire Station in Flagler and it had been damaged in another Hurricane N' I stated it needed to be concrete in which I was told the city wanted to maintain the rustic look. My background is a 40yr. resident that has seen it collapse multiple times, 8 yrs. as a Vol. at the City Fire Station and experience in Road/Bridge construction. I've fished many Piers throughout FL. and there almost all concrete for a reason. P.S.- 998'/3ft. short of 1k 😂?
I prefer Hallandale beach Florida beautiful city good beaches and restaurants and growing businesses and communities, and a lot of prime land and a good nightlife.
