How to Create a Multicam Sequence with Audio Sync in Premiere Pro | Adobe Creative Cloud

Jason is the freaking man. Easily the clearest tutorial I've ever seen on multicam in Premiere.
Buddy, you just changed my life. I've been digging into so much stuff about multitrack editing and nobody has ever opened up the multicam clip in the timeline and showed me that the tracks are all aligned and their original length. I need to drop in an audio file that was in the in-ear monitors only, but which I know aligns perfectly with the start of all the microphone clips. I can now easily manually edit those in!! Thank you thank you thank you!
OMG I just spent hours trying to sync clips in multiple editors. Tried this and did it perfectly in about 2 minutes. Thank you!
I have watched lots of videos on how to do Multicam sequence and you explained it way better than everyone else. Great job and thank you for the tips.
Extremely helpful. This guy is amazing. Thank you!
This guy should get a promotion. Clear and knows what the hell he's doing. Thankful for Jason! hahaha
agreed haha
I. HAVE. WASTED. SO. MUCH. TIME. BEFORE. THIS. TUTORIAL.
Thanks for the tips! This way of multicam syncing is great!!
You are great, the clearest funny and pro tutorial I've ever found! many thanks from Italy
Adobe please keep working on syncing, works great about half the time. Thanks!
Thank you for your great tutorial! But for a music video production, we have to align the video frames and the wave form of the video to fit with the edited audio, which has been recorded and produced separately. By using the strech tool and making an event shorter, some frames in the counter are missing in Premiere Pro.
I hope this bug can be fixed and it will be again a way to control the succession of the frames in the timeline.
If everyone would do films so clearly and effectively as you do, I'd be a master of everything :P
Thanks. Great job!
I love how you showed me "Open in Timeline" in order to see the whole stack. Before that I was trying "New Sequence from Clip" but it didn't show the stacks. Thanks.
This is so incredibly thorough and helpful.
Wow, I really wish I had watched this before I synced everything manually
I find that way better, I mean yes it takes more time compared to what they showed on this tutorial but that actually allows you to be more flexible and creative.
Same.....
I am definitely going to use this and other tips I've learned here. Yes, doing it manually is good but I think some of these are really for a good quick start to trim the fat. Then once you get the basic thing done, you refine it. When you have projects piled up and need to keep the work flow going, everything helps. Thanks guys.
Try syncing up a wedding that way :D
I don't mind synching manually, I think it's really easy. I was hoping they would show how to start making the cuts! I used to do it in FCP 7... I used to produce live tv and it reminds me of being on live switching again.. I want to do it that way
this is one of the best tutorials ive seen. Good show.
Thank ;) I also had started doing this cut before i watched this ..But this going to be so nice to try out on other projects i do in the future , missed this option in the software. You doing a so great job making nice tutorials for youtube!
Fantastically helpful! So clear and concise. You are a great teacher. Thank you.
omfg! thank you so much!!!! i truly have struggled with getting 3 different cameras, Zoom H6 recorded audio synched up for cuts and it has been a N I G H T M A R E . Thank you thank you
I've come back to this video 5 times already. thanks Timex 100
Wish there was a link to a playlist with the rest of this series! Great tutorial.
Thank you, Adobe! Thank You, Jason! Superb tutorial!
You saved me so much time!!! Thank you soooo much!
Having issues with my two clips not matching together to sync for the multicam, whether it be 1 clip for each angle or multiple for each angle. thanks
No bs, right to the point, this is how you do tutorials
Love your video. So straight to the point and nice to watch
UGH Thank you for being so clear, god bless 🙏🏻💓
I have a five camera angle project that I need to edit. (4kUHD) The issue I'm running into is that some of the cameras created multiple files for a single recording. One of those cameras is the GH5. Consequently, I'm having audio sync issues. Do I need to Nest the files for each camera to create one continues shot or is there a workaround? If I do need to nest the files, what is the best process to create a multi-cam sequence from the nested files? Do I have to export each camera angle as a single file before creating a multi-sequence?
I have been working on this project for a month now and am only seeing this now................*eye twitch*
I wanted to know more about workflow of multicam clips in Premiere. I mean, in FCPX, I could just press "2" as a shortcut to camera 2 (or audio 2), and I wanted to know if there is a similar to this in Premiere.
THIS IS THE BEST MULTICAM VIDEO I AHVE SEEN. THANKS A MIL BIUDDY!
Thank you very much for such great detail tutorial! You the champ!
Hi! Thanks for your video. Can I edit a video in Premiere Pro CS6 without losing quality?
Once you guys get this feature to ACTUALLY WORK, it will be awesome!
(I continually keep getting "Audio Synchronization Failure" error messages, although the clips I'm trying to mix CLEARLY have the same audio (I was easily able to manually sync them).
I wasted more time trying to get this feature to work than I would have manually syncing my entire video!
Great teaching, thank you Jason!
The audio that's on the performance clips and or b-roll band clips,is it the same audio at time of video shoot? Is that audio played along side when video is being shot? I know both audio have to line up to sync. Thanks for feedback.
This was so helpful and easy. Thank you!
Great video, best in class. THANK YOU! I'll use it right away.
thanks for the amazing tutorial! so helpful and time saver!
Thanks from Brazil!
Thank you for a great tutorial
I am experiencing the following error-message, when I attempt to create a multicam-sequence with 7 clips (4-5min 4K but converted to proxyfiles) and a song (wav-file): "could not synchronize one or more clips in the current selection because a match could not be found"
I have tried different settings, but it keeps notifying me with this message, even though it creates a multicam-sequence with 4 of the clips. I have also tried toggling off proxies, but I can't seem to create a sequence with all 7 clips. Has anyone experienced this?
I edit a podcast with 4 people, on Pr, Using Multicam, is there an option that will automatically cut to clip with to the person speaking, all with different audio tracks?
thank you for a very good video, but what about when things are not going as planed. When the video is having bad sound and the program want sync. Like my project. I had to sync most of the clips in the timeline cause premiere could not hear the por music from the camera. I have all my video synced in the timeline. What can I do? I can of course export every syncronized clip out, and import them again. But is there another way?
Very clear, very informative! Thanks!
Really really helpful. Thank you so much!!!
Sir, you are a wonderfully informative human and I sincerely appreciate you. 🙏🙏🙏
YES ! Am familiar with the Synchronize feature on Adobe locking up multi camera tracks through the, 'Mixdown' setting however am now trying to Synchronize a new 4 Cam Multi Camera Shoot to a Master Audio Track recorded previously but after I draw over the 4 independent tracks then right click on the group my Synchronize tab is GHOSTED!
Can you offer me a Solution?
Oh my god thank you I was about to cry.
exactly what I was looking for -- thank you!
This is what dreams are made of. Leaning this software after years away from editing. Thank you so much!! #jasonlevinemancrush
GREAT JASON! i have a question , what the minimun requirement card graphics to a multicam easy, because i´m a still have a i7 processor 4770 k intel and i can not make this 😁
Really great tutorial, man! Thanks. Side question - what program did you use to record your tutorial?
Do all the audio tracks have to be the same? I mean how does it know where the bass part goes in relation to the guitar, or drums? Is that what the master audio is for? Is that a full mix that it references? I’m in the middle of a 9 camera music edit but the bass, synth, guitars are isolated. Do I need a full song mixdown track to reference? Cheers
Thanks! :D
Is it possible to view all the video tracks in Multicam View but keep all the clips separate (not nested) in the timeline?
Big thanks for this lessons!
question, i shot with just 2 cam angles but have a bunch of clips each. when i sync the clips, each clip gets its own track and i have to move each one to down to manually. is there a way to mark clips so they all fall on their correct tracks ?
Very helpful for me, thank you very much
I have 6 camera angles of a 60 min live performance. Not all angles were continuous so I methodically synced them all to a mastered stereo audio export. Worked beautifully. Nested, activated multicam and began editing. A few hours in and one angle in the nested sequence suddenly went out of sync. I've read forums and heard premiere can be glitchy with multicam / nested sequences, especially losing audio sync (often due to user-error which could be my case). I can't find a solution though anywhere. My question - can I un-nest the multicam sequence, re-sync the one glitchy camera angle, re-nest and continue on [or] am I out of luck, and will lose my previous multicam edit cuts? Appreciate any assistance from more experienced editors out there. Also reached out via Twitter Adobe Creative Cloud.
Awesome thank you for sharing!!!
thanks alot bro, works great!!
when I colorcorrect the settings are applied to all the clips in the multimcam. Is there a way to just correct a single track?
I love this, thank you sir
What do you do for clips that do not have any sound? How do you incorporate them into the nested sequence?
This is so helpful, Thank you very much
thanks so much !
Great tutorial.
please how were u able to select multiple individual tracks on your project panel without selecting the folders
Would this work if the clips are all different frame rates?
Tnank you , best tutorial.
Can anyone tell me where i can find this whole livestream
Anyone know where I can find the next video after this ?
When i do this it creates a whole bunch of multicam files, not 1. and some are empty and and other are short and dont have the master audio track in it. any ideas why? i have 3 cameras and 1 audio fom the band. some audio is pretty distorted, so it's not syncronizing some stuff. is there another way to deal with all this?
greatest teacher alive
Adobe please let us use the camera label feature with audio sync so each camera's clips are on one video track. Not each camera's clips on multiple video tracks.
Please!!
I use multicam sequence just to sync. For what I do as a videographer, I never use "new sequence from clip" (7:15). It just is counterproductive to go that route.
You can, you just have to do a bit of extra work and need timecode. Use "Camera Label" or "Camera Angle" metadata which you can fill in with your own data in Premiere. Then when creating the Multicamera source sequence, choose sync by timecode and for Track Assignments, choose Camera Label or Camera Angle, whichever you filled in, and if it syncs, clips sharing any of the same camera label or camera angle will be put into the same track.
Where is the next video in this series please for editing?
Thanks for the video, it was quick and helpful! Also, off topic but I really like his hair T__T
Do you know why I edit in “timeline” but it’s not showing my cuts on the sequence ?
I did this for a project. It worked to an extent. Instead of creating a single multicam sequence it ended up creating an individual one for each clip and audio track. Anyone know what I might have done wrong?
Thank you sir
how are you able to edit more than 4 cameras?
THANK YOU!!
Tks for your tips
did everything as you said, but it makes 4 separate multi cams for some reason? anyone know why?
What can I do, if one of my cameras consists of multiple fragments, and I want the multicamera sequence to automatically switch to the visible track when a short fragment ends?
Great!!
Thank you.
Thanks bro
Is there a way I can get the raw footage of this so I can practice editing? That would be amazing!
learndownload.adobe.com/pub/learn/premiere/edit-music-video.zip Here you are. Found it.
Great Video!
Does anyone know why when I go to set up the multicam sequence, there is no "mix down" option for audio? It only shows channel 1? I showed up once the first time I went to do it, but when I went to do it again and there on forward it no longer shows up... HELP!!
Does it work the same for Premiere Pro for Windows?
Hi Jason! I had a quick question regarding editing this footage. Like you pointed out, one of the vocal tracks only goes for part of the song. Is it fine using part of the chorus portion of this track further on in the sequence, even though it technically wasn't filmed this long? Is this good protocol? Thanks!
Thanks! That is what I thought, but I wanted to make sure just in case!
can you create multi cam sequences from stuff thats already in your timeline? or does it have to be in the project bin section?
jk found it here community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/can-i-make-a-multicam-sequence-from-clips-already-on-timeline/td-p/7213516?page=1
I can't select anything under the audio sync mine is greyed out for some reason
Got a question for you! The individual clips that were in the multicam sequence, spread out all over the place. What were THOSE clips using as audio? Pre-mixed? on-camera shotgun mic? If so, what was the audio? I'm just confused at what audio you'd be syncing to with those miscellaneous clips.
All Cameras cut after 29:59 , so what to do to make full sequence if your main is in 3 files?
I am having a hard time and hopefully you can help. This tutorial helped me a ton, however now when I try and create a multicam the "mix down" option is missing all together. It wasn't before and now it only gives me a "track 1" option.
Hi. Thanks for the message. Does your audio contain more than one track? If it is mono, you won't have the option for "Mixdown." Let me know a bit more about the file. I hope the advice helps. Thx, ^KM
How to create a multi-camera scene with more sequance of the same source?
Example: my main camera took 4 sequance and each of my additional cameras also took 5 to 6 sequances how to make a multicam?
help sync by audio is grayed out I can't select it
