How to enter a 3 or 4 digit VW Audi radio code. Your radio code is printed on a card usually located with you owners manual.

Thanks for this. I haven't had to unlock it in the 9 years I had my VW so I was unsure what to do.
I was not about to pay for them to pull it out so they could get a code for me. I took 4 relatively thin screwdrivers and placed them in the holes in the 4 corners of the radio face. Then I pushed them outward as I pulled the radio out. Worked like a charm.

I recently acquired a 95 Vw Golf with a radio in safe mode. I just called the VW dealership and they told me that if I could get the serial number off the top of the radio then they will give me the code. To take the radio out I used a small allen wrench that ffit the holes. You will need 4 of them. Once they are put in the radio will slide out. I got the number and they told me my code. It was free

@crozadar Could be you attempted to unlock too many times. You have to let the radio sit, turned ON for an hour. In the description of the video there are links to articles with a bit more info on entering the code.

For a 2004 TT (Concert II radio), what are the buttons to make 1000 appear? It's RDS and something, but I'm not sure what. I would've tested this but the car is at home, so I'm just looking ahead of time

@BentleyPublishers Does anyone know how to take out the radio like this model? My radio would not even turn on all of a sudden. I think it could be the fuse behind it.

@iiAcesGaming Hold down FM and RDS. 1000 should appear. Your model is slightly different that the model used int he video.

Please can some one help ? :) We have Volkswagen Multivan year 1995, we have code but we don't know which two buttons to hold for appearing 1000, because you can't find buttons SCAN or MODE on this radio :) There are only BAND, TP, RDS, CD, TA. Which buttons we should hold then ??? :)

alright so here i am again commenting on this SAME video 3 weeks later. i have thee same head unit but i have no idea how to take it out. You could get it without the changer, it's just that this radio can interface with one. They are normally in the trunk

Great video but a waste of time if your 1998 VW bug doesn't have the Mode/Scan button on it...how do I do mine?
also, my code is 0693 which doesn't go along with your video that says all of the 4 digit codes star with a 1....and my radio is a stock VW 1998.

It's always written on the bottom plate of the actual radio/player as a back up... Hard to refer to when it's installed!

@Kayroseky A VW dealer can retrieve the code for you.
I have a specified 4 digit code with 0 as the first digit so I wouldn't say a 4 digit code always requires a 1 in the beginning.

I have a problem, after unlocking SAFE 2 to SAFE I´m able to input radio code, but the problem is that somehow this code is not valid anymore that I have and it returns me back to SAFE 2 after second try. How can it be resolved?
how are you able to reset the 2 safe mode, just curious?

If you Radio code card has the first digit a ZERO you have a three digit code!!!
You can't enter a Zero as the First number you need to disable the 1 the first one, Heads Up Bentley!
