I don't find the heat too bad once the sun goes down. The other concerns aren't particular to the area I would say. Overall, having lived here a year and a half (through two summers), I think it's great!

Good video. Just sharing my experience. I’m outside often because I grow food.
. I’ve seen 4 snakes in 5 years. first scorpion ever in my pool dead. 2 Bob cats. I’m near the mountain in La Quinta so yes it’s normal to have more wildlife. Lots of bats but they don’t bother you.. I live here full time and summer is brutal! 2 months of 115 daily many 120 days. It is hot at night all night 24/7.
I love it here in October, through April. So beautiful!! You need to get away in the summer for a break.
It’s hard on doggies too! They can burn paws. Be careful!
Southwest christian church in Indian wells is fantastic for all ages!
    There are Catholic Churches too.

You definitely nailed it. So, we're going to be chased down by an avalanche of wild insects and snakes. ha ha
Laying the law down with whoever's crying about this stuff. Nothing to fear. The video cut out a little when you
mentioned the electric bill being $800 and I think you're referring to an 1800 Sq Ft. house, correct? To confirm,
if one wants morning sun tapering away later in the day- have your backyard facing South or East?
    Thank you, Brandy.

Sorry about that! Yes, I was referring to an 1800sqft house. Sun rises in the east, so most full timers want to avoid West/South exposure. If it were me, I'd avoid anything Southwest or Northwest. The afternoon sun is not pleasant, unless you have lots of shade!! There's always ways around it. :)
