I love the trilogy of these songs, You Turn Me On, Lucky Man, and From the Beginning with that beautiful sound coming from his guitar....the Gibson. Miss you Greg Lake. You live on in our hearts, and when I hear any of these three songs, I have to stop and listen. Beautiful.
I was more of a hard rock lover back when this song was new but I never turned it off when it was playing. I've learned to enjoy this music very much and it causes me to miss the old days now. I wish I had been a bigger fan back then. What beautiful music this band had. One of a kind.
I'm binge-ing ELP and just came across this stunningly beautiful life version of what I've always considered one of the best rock ballads of all time. The young lead guitarist is very impressive. What a gift to find this in the middle of a night of insomnia!
"had perfect and clear vocal". Had is the key word here. Studio version is stunning. His vocal on this video is really sad... often out of tune, lack of sustain, coarse, uninspired.... Don't get me wrong: I love ELP (and this song)
Every top thumbs up goes to i played my song at this ones Funeral. Okok that's heavy. My 10 yr old son died, I wont use that for thumbs. How about we agree this is the best live rendition Ive seen of a beautiful, clever, moving studio version In a Long time. Can we get a thumbs up for anadmiring, excellent commentary?
This is just awesome, beautiful music by a group that was truly talented! The "stuff" on the radio today, doesn't hold a candle to this beautiful music! Peace to all, BobbyK
Pioneros del rock con sintetizadores Escuchando esta musica uno comprende la grandeza del rock de los 70's Grande ELP. Son parte de la memoria del rock por siempre.
Yes! I've always LOVED the ethereal, otherworldly feeling of this tune. Reminds me of my teens and twenties when I'd go lie on the lawn with my Walkman and let it play while looking up at the cold, distant stars. I'd play it over and over and just feel carried upward toward them. Such wonderful music....

Lo has dicho bien, INMORTALES.
Greg Lake. His face was posted all over my bedroom walls when I was 16 (1974). His voice was was and is like cut crystal. I was the end all absolute groupie fan at 16 and I still love ELP at 53. Favorites are the FTB, Fuge and Trilogy from Trilogy, The Sage from Pictures at an Exh, Jerusalem and Tocata from BSS and pretty much anything. Love em!!
Greg was perfectly beautiful in 1974. I had never seen him until recently although I lived through the 1960s and 1970s. Young people do not realize that we old folks didn’t have a way of seeing the artists. No MTV. No rock magazines until Rolling Stone. The other “problem” was that there were so many great artists and bands, you couldn’t really appreciate all of them, not if you were going to study at university! On the upside, great bands toured college campuses and the entry fees were cheap unlike today. I remember when Chicago came to my university in 1973 or 1974, people were outraged because they charged $10,000 for the appearance! That’s equivalent to ~$61,000 today. Can you imagine a top band charging $61,000 today for an appearance?! lol!
The performers of rock's greatest era are passing so quickly. Those days are more and more clouded by the passage of time, like trying to look back through mist. Thank God for recorded music.
One of those songs that just give me goosebumps. There isn't a song that does that to me today, because the best music peaked a long time ago and no one can top the plateau of great music anymore.
there definitely is music like that today, its just not the popular music. Look up Kishi Bashi - "In Fantasia", or really any song by Kishi Bashi. The Lumineers are really good too
buck, that's what is sad. Rock is basically dead. All the good stuff has gone underground. I miss the days when you could snap on a radio and literally find something good from one end of the dial to the other.
Joseph P Liptak Jr, well said. This song is so haunting. Subtlety and master musicianship are just plain gone from popular music, and I miss it so much.
This is the song of a rock elite from the 70's. Song of a clean youth looking at life just beginning. Every time I listen to it takes me back to Rio where I lived at the time.
saw these guys like 20 times within a 3 month period back many many years ago and finished up with a holloween show in houston at the summit! what a night!
Te recomiendo q escuches "Close to the edge" by Yes la version completa de 17 minutos .... ademas " Ina gadda da vida " by Iron Butterfly , captalas aqui in youtube .... despues de escuchar estos temas podras morir tranquilo ..... saludos de un Peruano q crecio con esta musica ............. Long live to Rockkkkkkkkkkk !!!

The best of ELP and Greg Lake... a song you just know in your bones has a half life of forever.
My Dad loves them and he had me listen to them one day and I loved them.(:
Same here. My dads band plays it live sometimes.
Fantastic singer/songwriter and musicians. These guys had it all, too bad more folks can't experience and appreciate this genius.

I had the honor of attending these men's concert in Morgantown, West Virginia in the mid-1970's. What a show? They were so good.
Yes, this is l'âge d'or.
RIP sweet Keith. Today I am five years without you, and I miss you so much.
He's just great.
