- Arlington police released three videos after the family of a man killed in a shoot-out questioned police's claims that their son shot at police first.
On the body camera video of a backup officer, you hear him ask passenger Tre'shun Miller to exit the car. Miller immediately flees with the backup officer chasing him and the main officer close behind. As the officers chase Miller, you hear gunshots ring out. The backup officer, who was closest to Miller, falls to the ground, yelling. The other officer continues to chase Miller as gunshots continue, and Miller is then seen laying on the ground.

The officer that was shot didn’t even fire his weapon but the family insists the officers shot first. What an ignorant statement by the family.
That's nothing. Even if they had clear footage, eye witnesses, and even the criminal going on Facebook live saying he shot the cop first, the family would still play the victim and say, "That doesn't prove anything. And even IF it does, it doesn't give police the right to shoot him." 🙄

Reminds me of that case where the mom says to the news the customer that shot her 18 year old son who was robbing people at gunpoint "if the gun wasnt pointed at you, you shouldn't be involved and went about your business then said what gives you the right to shoot your gun at him". Parents are some of the stupidest human beings they breed and raise these children to failure and when it catches up to them they blame everyone but themselves. That 18 year was wanted for the prior robbings and they knew about it.

They showed the videos without comment. Of course the defendant's attorney is going advocate for the family. This is how the news should be reporting it. Interpretation is left up to the viewers. Even when the stance is absolutely absurd an attorney has to take the side of his client, not saying that what he said is in anyway true (the video makes that more than apparent), but just saying ya can't go off and slam the attorney cause its' his legal duty to try and defend his client.

The lawyer says, “looking at that body cam footage it’s inconclusive. You can’t see who pulled their gun first or who fired first.” I beg to differ. You see one cop fall to the ground after being shot and another returning fire. Seems conclusive to me.
@Paul Ramos watchand listen closely at 1:19 here, the officer is down already and the other offcr is yet to pull out his gun. The gun sound is not clear and on top of that the reporter talking blowned out the shot sound but you can already hear the officer screaming.

I'm getting really sick of families claiming there loved ones were shot unlawfully when the reaction of their family members to police is violent and endangering the officer's lives.
If a police officer thinks his life is in danger how do you expect him to react, it seems like everyone is jumping on the bandwagon and blaming the police instead of looking closer to home.

While it looks open and shut to me, too, i can see how family wouldn't want to just take someone's word for it and actually push for investigation. The family grieving the loss didn't fire the shots. @@LickyTee if you're saying the officer shot his own partner by accident. The suspects still opened fire first. They initiated it. So friendly fire won't hold weight in this case. It only helps cover up soldiers who accidentally shot another soldier during combat. In that case, the force will cover it up by saying the enemy shot and killed the soldier. They never want to put the blame on a soldier. I know cops cover things up. But they have proof the suspect fired first. So you can cancel the friendly fire excuse.

That evading detention would only be a felony in texas if he had a prior misdemeanor conviction for evading detention on foot. If not, its a misdemeanor.
Does not matter who drew first. You can't pull a gun out on cops when they have a lawful reason to detain you. The stop was lawful from what I can see. Cops are also allowed to pull you from the car and pat you down. Not search but pat. This pat down would have probably exposed the weapon on him. One less idiot on the street.

@@rifekimler3309 He was being detained by Police (traffic stop) and runs while pulling out a weapon in the process. Now he is evading arrest with a weapon. It doesn't matter if he is a fleeing felon (Texas) or not. It doesn't matter whether he fires the weapon or not. He has the weapon in his hand while he is eluding Police. That alone is justification for deadly force. The fact that he uses the weapon is just an aggravating factor when he goes to court. Fortunately he has turned his life around and will commit no further offenses.
I am A Black Man in my 40's and have been pulled over by the police about 20 times in my life time. I have always cooperated with their requests and and reasons. Never resisted but cooperated. Every time! It turned out ok. Got a ticket or two but I was in the wrong most of the time. Dad's teach your kids before the streets teach them.

He could have easily grabbed a kid as a hostage, shot anybody he thought was in his way, carjacked somebody. Who knows? Ending the threat he posed saved untold lives.
