This symposium will take the form of an moderated open-ended panel discussion, in which the participants seek answers and insight to the following key question: What are the key elements of future institutions that are needed to deepen democracy and to support intergenerational fair transitions? Participants are Professor Sheila Jasanoff, Dr. Siswe Mpofu-Walsh, Professor Professor Keith Breckenridge and Professor Achille Mbembe (moderator). The event is part of The South Africa Conversations 2023, co-hosted by the Holberg Prize and the Innovation Foundation for Democracy. Artwork: "Document for the People 57" by Maja Maljević (2018).
