    I love your videos. You break them down so well and you move beautifully! I really like the fact that you teach in a way that still shows the full professional way to execute the moves. Some beginner videos from others make it too simplistic which then no longer seems authentic to how the dance should look in the end 😊

    This is just a basic Latin motion.
    It is not even to related to samba.
    Samba would be bounce and bounce 1&2; bounce and bounce 3&4 😊

    This is a mix of many latin dances but I wouldn't call it samba, it seems something that someone would dance as a generic latin dance in a competition or movie. Don't understand me wrong, she is an awesome dancer, a professional and her techinique is awesome, but this is not samba, it's kinda an offense for people from South America to just mix our national dances as it was one single thing, specialy with this song in the background.

    • @freelydance
      @freelydance  3 роки тому +9

      Before text this you can read what this video about and check about it, it’s international style Latin and to develop ballroom dancing we do pay a lot of attention where the dance come from so try to be more educated before text something and yes it’s dancing on competition but for sure no one offence nothing

    • @carolinarodrigues5420
      @carolinarodrigues5420 3 роки тому +6

      @freelydance I saw the video and now I read the description but I am a professional dancer and I am from Brazil and I can say that this is offensive to our culture, something that you can't as a foreigner. If you want to call it just international style that's ok, just change the name of the video, but don't put the name Samba on it. What you danced is cool, people have their freedom to mix different styles, but you can't say that you are teaching samba here, not even the basic. I am not offending your work, the video is clear, with a good quality, but keep calling it just international style or inspired by samba, so than when people search classes to learn samba, specialy begginer and foreigners, they won't be confused or offended by it.

      @@carolinarodrigues5420 I am professional dancer as well 😊and everywhere in ballroom world it’s called international samba. If it’s offence you that something your personal
      You can learn more about international samba if you want develop yourself as a dancer and maybe it’s going to make more sense for you because everything very logical and easy 👍

      @@carolinarodrigues5420 If you are a professional dancer, then you should know that the Samba dance was brought from Africa to Brazil, and not from Brazil) And “Besides Brazilian Samba, a major style of Samba is ballroom Samba, which differs significantly”.
      P.s You confuse Carnival Samba, with Samba “professional dancer”

    • @carolinarodrigues5420
      @carolinarodrigues5420 3 роки тому +2

      @@Tancev No it wasn't brought by africans to Brazil, it was invented in Brazil in the state of Bahia, it is a mix of many popular brazilians dances and african base dances, maybe you got confuse because it was created by slaves with african blood, just like Capoeira and Frevo. Bahia was one of the central state of slavery in Brazil, that why most of our black population is from there, but it was invented in Brazil. And no, as I said before, the name of " ballroom samba " is called samba de gafieira, that it's different from the solo samba that we see durring carnival, but she wasn't dancing any of this different samba categories. Samba is an internation intagible immaterial heritage, officialy brazilian.
      Ps: by the way, who dances carnival samba as a profession is a professional dancer too, they train too hard their whole lifes, join companies and competitions and their effort shouldn't be minimize because it's not a ballroom dance.
