Hi Dr. Goertz, would you consider making a video about the future of schizophrenia/bipolar medications ? I’m a patient, I read there’s a new drug coming out next year called karXT, which apparently has a whole different mechanisms than the existing antipsychotics and supposedly has less adverse side effects. As someone who has endured many side effects, I’m trying to hold on to hope that better meds will exist in my lifetime. I wanna get better and remain well, but it feels like a punishment to be sedated to oblivion. Thanks for your videos!
“Researchers are currently experimenting with drugs which induce amnesia in order to develop better drugs to treat psychiatric disorders.” Wikipedia Theres a possibility of using designer drugs to induce retrograde amnesia to prevent PTSD after experiencing traumatic events. I dont know much about the future of antipsychotics, other than marijuana is one.
The cigarette observation is very interesting, as someone with a family of smokers I never would’ve considered this. Thanks for the alternative perspective!
I was just having this issue, this video helped me a lot!
Thank you Kathy!

Hi Dr. Goertz, Thank you for sharing this. I was just reading about this in“ The Body Keeps the Score”. Take care 🙂

"A lo t of our thinking isn't necessarily productive"
Thank you Sandra!
What you mean by not thinking!
Some things, e.g. focusing on our body, can help us not to think.
