Having toured this Basilica and spent a lot of time there, my hope is everyone gets an opportunity to actually GO to this stunning Basilica! It does not matter what religion or culture you are; its about history and the incredible feeling you have has you walk, sit and just spend such quality time in this Basilica! The obelisk IS the LARGEST in weight and height in THE WORLD! I guarantee an incredible experience!

The obelisk is way too tall, thick and big to be buried by anything. It was standing erect at the Circus. Pope Sixtus just had it carried off (not dug up) to Lateran....

It was broken in two and laid buried on its side. It would easily be lost.
