Snow is definetly in a tier since you can press shift to remove most status effects off of you and freezes with wind. Charging snow for 0.1s removes corroding, melting, burning, scorched, charred, etc off of you.

This tierlist is very accurate, besides the fact your the only one not using outdated stats you also include a magic's potential in their rating. Like wind's knockback makes it really good but a lot of people ignore it. Video aside I read the balance doc and its simply incredible I hope it all gets added. I like the variety in AO, in WOM there wasn't nearly as much of it. I do sort of want them to add the old island as a storyline extension though. I remember you had to fight a minotaur and some other cool things.
The WOM story was sadly removed but I assume the reason the map is not it the game is one, it was pretty blocky and less realistic. And two it was FREAKING HUGE! if that was an island everyone would just live on it. Forget every other island everyone would be heading straight there lol
i remember one time i accidentally aggroed the minotaur north by the savannah, and he tracked me down to that bell village in the middle of the map...he proceeded to RAZE the ENTIRE TOWN down to the ground. he killed at least 5 of those magic guard NPCs they had for the good faction back then, if not more. i hid in the wreckage of a building he'd already targeted and the only reason i didn't get killed after i got trapped in the wreckage was because he was in a 3v1 with the magic guard NPCs. they fought for at least 15 minutes straight before they killed him and arrested him.
I'm a Light and Magma style user. I synergy the two by using my light spell to blind players and then using magma explosion and magma blast to cover wide area with flames and magma. The enemy can't see what's happening, and will tend to panic.

I really like how you've organised this towards solo builds. As a lightning user, I can agree that using it solo is very difficult compared to other magics like Magma and Ash. The second magic though opens the door to many other interactions. Since going water as my second, I have been having a BLAST with my Lightning Mage. Now, I can control space with lightning puddles AND apply paralyse more efficiently, it's great! I'm sure other magics have their unique combos too, so the people who use low tier magics on this list can still have a lot of fun and feel powerful!
@@Maplestorm Earth, magma and metal need nerfs so badly, the amount of damage and AOE they have is so broken its not even funny, I have had players not in my party come in and ruin boss farming and its so annoying, since magma leaves puddles around and since you have both the player and the boss to worry about, your basically dead, along with the entire group. People need to stop interuppting boss farming, its a cowardly way to hunt someone, since the boss does most of the work.
I like wind and I actually have a wind mage file that I made specifically to launch people as far as I could. But what wind needs is to be able to knockback people even when they are using a skill cuz right now most skills anchor when used and negate most of the knockback if you are able to react to it. It would be so cool to throw people off their crash or rushdown trajectories and it would become a very useful magic.
thats why magma is the best, you got a beautiful magic, a cool dot, funny puddles, and can make domain expansion if you run intensity + poison secondary magic with 2 strong dots and a really dark fog where u cant see shit
I honestly love Wood magic. The only downside I've found is it's below average speed, but other than that, it has all synergies and good size/damage. (And I love Trees, so that works too!) Although, the main downside is the Wood Conjurer's visuals. They could definitely be better. But hey, it's funny turning my iron staff into a branch, putting twigs onto my fingers, and turning my Greataxe into a Wooden Sign. So is it really a downside?

This makes sense, about the positive damage bonus cap. (My) Wood warlock with thermo fist is topping at 117 damage per m1, which would be higher if it was the 30% still. Just might mention that (my) armour stats aren't perfect yet, it might still do better in time.

A lot of us put vitality stat as an accident and we dont have the free reset anymore. So yeah..second one is the most complicated which is the magic change potion. I mean. Wood is an easy S tier. Being capable of dealing high damage and applying bleed while being faster than earth/metal and synergisyzing better with heat magics makes it an easy placement on S I also think that thunder is A instead of B. And I say this because I think you downplayed speed to much. Put a damage increase shape on the attack + it’s natural high speed and you can crank up some blitz strikes. It is also important to focus on how good thunder + water is, since you can easily apply paralyzed which is one of the best status in game when paired with a fast magic like thunder
saying poison is a worse ash is literally a sin the only thing they have in common are the gas clouds. Poison is 10 times better because it stops regeneration for 20 seconds while ash can only apply the petrified effect which is a 0,25 second stun. Its honestly pretty useless in pvp since everyone will be healing (maybe even with recovery food) while dashing around.

This is basically just mage only builds, when you consider some of these magics with other hybrids (like magma conjurer) i'd adjust their tiers because magma is either bugged or just absolutely trash when embued (you don't get bleed synergies and the self synergy doesn't work)

Me going Lightning + Light is just chef kiss, the speed of both magics are amazing and sometimes hard to predict especially close range. The damage on both are well balanced though you need good aim due to both having small AOE
@@SrJrXVIII lightning and light are legit two of the lower end elements in terms of dmg, not only that but they barely have aoe only thing do have is speed but you need to actually have good and consistent aim to get any dmg off since neither of their status effects do any kind of dmg, unlike metal, ash, earth, crystal, magma, wood etc etc etc
Theres another patch note saying that some synergies were buffed because the recent nerf made them too weak. For example according to that patch note ice on frozen is supposed to do 10% more damage becasue it doesnt end frozen but my 200 dmg ice blast does 240 on frozen targets
so wait are the combat changes guaranteed? bc if so i prob wouldn’t try to go for synergies w my magic, I was originally gonna go cryatal+earth but i could maybe do wind+earth instead if it becomes less necessary
I know this comment may seem biased, especially since I main Ice Magic, but you should also consider some things outside of PvP. An example of Ice Magic would be for the whole sea, as Ice Magic can spawn platforms on the water, which is really helpful if you fall off of the sky islands. Maybe take notes on magics in and out of PvP and rank again. Just a thought.

I have wood and fire magic and fire buffs it by 15% pair that with mode and I can do like 300 per blast with 1551 hp

Me going Lightning + Light is just chef kiss, the speed of both magics are amazing and sometimes hard to predict especially close range. The damage on both are well balanced though you need good aim due to both having small AOE

@@SrJrXVIII lightning and light are legit two of the lower end elements in terms of dmg, not only that but they barely have aoe only thing do have is speed but you need to actually have good and consistent aim to get any dmg off since neither of their status effects do any kind of dmg, unlike metal, ash, earth, crystal, magma, wood etc etc etc
Theres another patch note saying that some synergies were buffed because the recent nerf made them too weak. For example according to that patch note ice on frozen is supposed to do 10% more damage becasue it doesnt end frozen but my 200 dmg ice blast does 240 on frozen targets

I know this comment may seem biased, especially since I main Ice Magic, but you should also consider some things outside of PvP. An example of Ice Magic would be for the whole sea, as Ice Magic can spawn platforms on the water, which is really helpful if you fall off of the sky islands. Maybe take notes on magics in and out of PvP and rank again. Just a thought.
theres really no point as magics are soley for fighting. something like ice and magma platforms is just a little gimmick and barely changes anything
