  • I was shocked to enter this mill building and see just how intact it still is after having been closed and abandoned since 1942. It would have been fully intact if not for selfish people who stripped out the copper and destroyed numerous historic machines. UNCOOL!
    Some background: This mine was one of the major producers in the Fairbanks district prior to WWII. Discovered around 1912, production was 1914 until 1942 when it was shut down by the War Production Board Order L208, and like most other mines in the district. My research says is produced about 110,000 ounces of gold,
    There are three adits which we did not get time to explore.
