Hi! i loved this video so much! i’m applying to albany within the next few weeks and i have a couple questions if you could answer them id love to hear back! i was wondering, do freshman usually get suites or regular dorms with two people there? and how is the campus in terms of where classes are and everything: can you walk to them? and is it weird meeting new people/ meeting your new roommate? and do you fill out a form/ survey thing to say if you’re messy or like to stay up late and stuff? and how is the eop program? i loved this vid i hope to hear back! 😁😁 i’m so excited albany is my top choice!
hey, good luck with your application! most freshmen will be placed in a suite where in their actual dorm room they have one roommate, and as for the rest of the suite, there are usually two other rooms (in the tower on state and indian quad) which could mean 4-5 suitemates (you guys share a common area, the place where all those desks were, and a bathroom). most classes are less than a 15 minute walk away depending on where you're coming from on campus. im a very social person so it wasn't weird meeting people, but i didn't speak to my roommate much before meeting her in person so i would say that i was anxious about that. but everyone is really nice, and getting to know people within the first few weeks as a freshman can be nerve-wracking, but just remember to be yourself! i didn't fill out a survey but i know there was a facebook group created where you could find a potential roommate. im not in the EOP program but ive heard great things about it, and people who met during that that are still close friends now!

it depends what you're into! there's parties every weekend, but there are some weekends that are notorious for having the most "lit" parties so just choose wisely lol

i'm not sure what the gpa requirements are now but when i got accepted i believe i had an B+ average. i'd say a strong college essay goes a long way, as well as being well balanced (involved in clubs, sports, etc). good grades help, but theyre not everything when it comes to getting into a school! so to answer your question, it's competitive, but definitely within your reach

hey! my experience has been great. Albany is great in so many ways. it's a diverse school, and there's literally a club for any and everything. making friends is super easy, and since it's a "party school" there's always fun stuff to do during the weekends. i've met some of my best friends here and i love it!

Omg , I'm Planning On Applying To This School This Year .. I'm A Senior Now , But Is It Hard To Get In ? I Kinda Messed Up My Grades My 11th Year But This Has Always Been My Dream School. And Is The Community Good ? Because My Mom Swears Its Dangerous But ☹️
never doubt yourself. you should go ahead and apply! i got accepted (3 years ago,) with an 86 unweighted GPA, but also participated in a ton of extracurriculars, and scored well on my ACT. every big city won't be perfect all round, but as a freshman you will be living on campus, so that should worry your mom a little less. if you venture off campus, (really at night) and go downtown, always go in a group. i've never felt endangered, but it also depends on what type of person you are. hope this helps!

yay! yes i would say making friends is easy, especially as a freshman. i would recommend having a suite mate and if you're more of a social person then living in the low rises as you get to know people on your floor better imo. the tower is more private, but you still have suite mates. and right! i was surprised.

if you choose state make sure yu get accepted into honors so you can get this room or get tower. otherwise the other lowrises are so old

i believe that's a renovated low rise, so more modern. the bathroom and rooms are super spacious compared to other low rises on state

yes it comes with all of the rooms in state quad. i know that some people on low rises on indian quad do not have one.
