Invest in a pair of silberschnitt running pliars.... Makes the other tools seem useless after scoring the glass

I'd hang it in the loo with a sign saying, "In case of emergency, break glass" :D

Yep - there are some people in the UK with very clean bottoms too. Thanks for showing ALL the steps including any problems. Very instructive and helpful.

I just found your channel as I am really interested in possibly learning how to make my own stained glass-- thanks for the videos!

Another thing you can do if you don't have a mask/don't want to wear one is to have a fan nearby. Opening a window helps to in conjunction with using a fan. I use a fan in my videos and sometimes wear a mask and sometimes not. I don't have the type of mask you do so that is why I always use a fan.

@@StainedGlassDIY It'll definitely come through in the audio (depending on how close you set the fan, or how powerful it is), that is why I don't use the raw audio in my videos. That and I live right next to a trainyard, so it's really loud a lot of the time, lol. I don't think anyone wants to hear loud train noises all the time. I'm use to it, but I know a lot of people aren't.

Oh yes audio is pretty important 🚂

I have found that inside curves come out better if I tap the score with the ball end of my cutter, there are several videos you could watch that demonstrate this.

Thanks! I was thinking I could make it work but I remember the tapping method. Will play with that next time!

I've just started cutting glass with your help. I hate to say it's comforting that you have issues at times too. Gives me courage to keep practicing and learning. Thank you.

Very good vid....as usual!!!! May a paper holder would have made the “hole” easier? Pretty soon we will be back to corn cobs .... new project!!

Great video. I currently don't have a place to work, but when I get my shop area done I'm making this. I think I'll make the center hole brown, however like the cardboard rolls.

When you used the grinder for the middle of the roll, the grinder sounded like a "nope" sound when it didn't fit.

The glass broke badly the first time that way because it had an internal defect. This is caused when the glass is not annealed properly or it could have just been an air bubble. Sometimes the different ingredients that make up the swirling that can cause a defect. So, not your fault.
Where did u get your glass from?
Btw- u do know your fid is meant for lead stained glass, right?
How did u learn stained glass?

Oh thanks and good to know about the defects in glass. I think that glass came from the stock pile I picked up along with my cabinet so . Yes I hope to learn about lead work soon. And I learned on my own from YT!

Super funny idea. Hakko also makes a good fume extractor with a hepa filter. A bit expensive, but perfect for your location I think.
