This was another great episode. The trip through the tunnel made me wonder how old it was and was it hammer, chisel and shovel/pick-axe work to make it. Also, as you go through all of these towns I realize leaving such a place as Mexico must be a very hard choice. Like it says in New Mexico this area of the world really is the Land Of Enchantment indeed the further south you go. When I was an eight year old on Dad's "Mother Road, route 66 dream come true in 1963, New Mexico was my favorite state we went to. Buffalo burgers were only 5 cents. LOL As always thanks for another great ride along and happy trails to you both.
I imagine the tunnel was build a little later and likely used dynamite. Mexico will be difficult to leave, but I think by the time that comes we’ll have done a fairly good job of exploring here. Thanks for watching!
Real de catorce, hermoso, pero tuve que cambiar los amortiguadores despues de manejar la carretera empedrada. Creo que estan en la huasteca Potosina. Yo soy de San Luis Potosi. Gracias por su video.
Congratulations on being the furthest south ever! Did you have to get shots to be down in the jungles? That tunnel was intense, but it looks like Meg found another perfect doorway. Beautiful scenery and now water instead of desert. What a great trip you are on! Thanks for taking us along!
Hey friends! No shots required, I think that’s more for going to Africa. Mexico has all the cool doors and perfectly sized one for the vertically challenged. 😂 It’s been a wonderful time down here thus far, thanks for watching!

Hello from the Pyrenees mountains Spain. That tunnel was really creepy. Love the contrast from the dry areas to the greenery as you travel south. Thanks also for the great Mexican music and the food. OMG I get so hungry watching you feast on Mexican foods. Meg the tortilla soup and chips looked so yummy. 👍🤗🥰
I’m glad that yourself along with others are beginning to appreciate the music choice. We should honestly be eating more Mexican food I think, we’ve only got 5 months left…😳😂 Thanks for watching!
Hey you 2 have some great videos and entertaining and Yes I definitely wouldn't go in the tunnel with 2 propane trucks I would wait for the next round of traffic.
We passed on Real de Catorce due to the weather and uncertainty of whether or not we'd fit in the tunnel so it was awesome to get to see it in your video! We're now wrapping up our waterfall tour in La Huasteca Potisina which has me anxious for your next video to see where you guys went! Hope it's been as good to you as it's been to us. Cheers!
Great choice and use of music!❤ Your editing is excellent. The drone shots are amazing…not sure if it’s the quality of drone you’re using, your flying skills, or just the incredible views of Mexico!😊
That tunnel had me working my sphincter muscles...and I agree with the claustrophobic feelings ... I had them just watching! Thank you for the cool video...can't wait to plan my own trip!
So often you are parked right beside the water. We stopped beside a river in Panama ans swam to a small island. There were clouds gathering over the far away mountains but didn't think anything of it. After a few hours relaxing on the island we wanted to return to shore and our van. In the meantime the river had turned into a brown torrent with tree roots etc floating downstream. With difficulty we made it back to shore. Whenever i see you stopping close to water i recall our adventures. Keep up the slow pace, so enjoyable.
We’ll keep that one in mind! In this case, there was no in bound weather and seeing as Mexico is in the midst of a big drought, we felt pretty certain there’d be no rising water levels any time soon. In general we make note of previous water levels and park far enough away to be safe. We’ve been experienced for ourselves rising water levels and more or less know what to look for.
@SlowRoamers you both are much more experienced than I am and especially in off-road situations since I mostly took my motorcycles off-road almost never on 4 wheels so definitely not giving advice. When I watch your videos I leave comments based on what I am seeing and my experiences because I am very engaged in your trip. I very much look forward to your future off-road adventures since it is unlikely that will try any of those trails. When you get to Argentina there are some places that I hope you will explore. My father took us into the Andes in his 4x4 company Willys Overland but there are so many more.
All good, we hear you on the suggestion for sure, we’d rather not be sunk in a river or tide any time soon. We’ve been compiling spots in Argentina to go to for a while and intend to spend as long as we can there, so we shall see!
It’s so funny hearing Meg say Si,Si so much. I spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica and took a month to stop saying Si,Si. It is a thing! lol. Another great video guys!
Lol, it’s actually an inside joke, we can actually respond with a little more than just si. Slowly but surely we’re picking up bits and pieces of the language. Thanks for watching!
Woah! I was today years old when I learned there’s a sport called Jai Alai! I think your observation is spot on, all though I wonder if Mexican’s of the mid 1900’s played jai alai…?🤔
Another amazing video! The tunnel was great :) You know you're getting south when the tamales are made with banana leaves instead of corn husks :) Great to see the 2WD is enough. Thought you were going to get stuck in the creek. The mountains, weather and narrow roads are similar to Guatemala. In Guatemala it's just a lot more intense or spectacular.
Honestly, we really need to track down some tamales now that you mention it! We’re stoked for Guatemala, but we’ve gotta do our time here. Thanks for watching Christopher!
