Imagine being able to come up with these lyrics on the fly and singing them perfectly after killing a man with a table... the world will really miss Buster Scruggs.
Well they're all songs from around that time and people just changed them so I wouldn't say he came up with the lyrics but yeah that would be pretty cool if he did
This is one of my FAVORITE movie segments ever! But Netflix got the closed captions wrong near the start of the song, it’s “Oh wherever he’s gambling now” not “Oh wherever he’s damned now”.
I also think he says “he was FIEND in days of yore”. And when he sings “Won’t be missed by anyone will Surley Joe”, I’m pretty sure they all say “TALLY HO!!” Also, “his grumpy race IS run”.
It's pretty hilarious that the only other clip of this scene on youtube cuts off at the shooting. People are so.. bizarre in their inability to understand why a scene works. The point isn't that Buster killed the guy in a funny way, the point is the juxtaposition of overserious gritty-western violence with the singalong cartoon cowboy song! You need both! Aggggh
I love it! All the play on words! "You killed my brother when he wasn't hardly looking!' And when Buster gets drilled in the head and looks at the bullet holes, 'Well...that ain't good.' LOL!!! Arrrrr-arrrr-arrrr
I really really hope Buster Scruggs appears again in a future movie. Such a great character. "And that sorry sack of bones was more in the nature of a suicide"🤣

There's another part to the lyrics that ARE MISSING on the sub-titled version that is sung by Blake Nelson in the background immediately following, 'Mopping up the floor..[the camera cuts to SJ's brother calling his name and his brothers voice is louder 'Joe? Surly Joe?' and those two words are on screen] but Blake Nelson, 'Buster Scruggs' is still singing ANOTHER LINE in the background. Can you please help figure this out?
Definition of Archimedean point 1) a reliably certain position or starting point that serves as the basis for argument or reasoning. 2) also : a detached position or point of view from which to perceive and deal with a subject objectively. There are alot of definitions of Archimedean but those two definition is what I think you're looking for which fits arguably with Scruggs statement.
If they're going off of Archimedes of Syracuse was a Greek mathematician physicist engineer astronomer and inventor from Syracuse in Sicily he was one of the leading scientists and classical antiquity
Among his many other exploits, the ancient Greek mathematician Archimedes famously defended the city of Syracuse (Sicily) against the Roman Army and the Roman Navy successfully for about a year (if memory serves me). He did so with a small force of men at his disposal and his ingenious inventions. So impressive were these machines and their ability to keep the world's greatest fighting force (at the time) at bay, that General Markellos, who led the ground attack, wanted Archimedes spared in the event the Romans ever captured the city. The meaning of Buster Scruggs is in regard to Archimedes's mechanical genius and military improvisation, not to his purely mathematical contributions to humanity or his reasoning abilities.
True fun.... At its best😊... Personally, i dont know this Scruggs character.... But then, he is the highlight of this movie.... The few minutes he appears on the screen 😊

We need a full movie with him
Like a deadpool from the wild west
Not only is it a perfect movie, but this song is a country song for the ages. Fantastique
Buster’s face when he hears the first piano key hit is like: GOT EM.

@tim M It's available on Deezer.....btw
I think buster meant Machiavellian; not Archimedean. Since Archimedes was a mathematician.
@@At_the_twinkling_of_an_eye He meant Archimedean, as he used Archimedes' "Law of the Lever" when kicking the plank into Surly Joe's gun.
@@opts9 right; right. I see where your coming from. 🙂

In the modern day, singing like this could easily sway any jury to your side, no matter how incriminating the evidence are against you.
I agree that it was more in the nature of a suicide. Now have him sing more. He can kill me next.
Imagine witnessing a murder and then the murderer just starts singing, and it’s so good that you just can’t help but join in. This is unhinged 😂
He's a bard
@@HaNsWiDjAjAWhile true, he may take the death of a man a little bit too lightly.
I wouldnt call it murder since he defended himself...
Normal day in wild western
exactly.shakespeare,swift,voltaire,nuthin on scruggs.just a cord progression and i'm fairly tone deaf.rock on.
I wish this movie was all about Buster
Imagine being as cool as this guy 😲
I want full feature buster scrubbs, not a watered down version but a one with as many quotables as this, do it netflix, its gold.
I would love a feature lenght buster scruggs
It'd have to be a prequel, if you know what I mean.
Look how he made up those lyrics on the go,Buster Scruggs would have made for a great freestyle rapper had he lived in our times
The wild West....I love how the crowd continues to sing and dance like Joe's body isn't even there.
"Achimedian" inventor of inclined plane.
It's ok to kill a threatening man if you sing a great song about his death right after!

Lol I did extended it but the was blocke by Netflix due to copyright infringment. the video was blocked everywhere. Thats why I Cut it.
Killed in a 'funny' way? Maybe terms like unusual, strange, bizarre, quirky, weird, inventive...lots of terms could be used but 'funny'? Naw.
La música de esa canción está tan buena, que hasta en el fondo de la cantina se puede ver al bartender bailandola. Simplemente genial!!!
SURLY JOEEEEEE
A fun song in a strange movie. You need to see it, but the rest of it is pretty dark.
I've seen it! I would say a typical Coen brothers films

krumholtz's laff is operatic.hehe...
0:40 is that just coincidence or he actually was the character model and voice actor of Roman Bellic in GTA-4 ?
coincidence. That's David Krumholtz, and Roman Bellic is some other guy.
Lol. But he did shoot someone in the back. The bartender at the Cantina.
That guy was trying to kill Buster by reaching for a gun. Buster meant he never killed anyone who didn’t try to Jill him
To be fair, he waited until he saw him and the fight was a 1v6.

What he means by Archimedean is that when you are unarmed you have to improvise in the craziest ways
@@foxy2pointo More precisely, he used mathematics, angles, etc, to come up with that strategy.
Among his many other exploits, the ancient Greek mathematician Archimedes famously defended the city of Syracuse (Sicily) against the Roman Army and the Roman Navy successfully for about a year (if memory serves me).
