Love ❤️ what you are doing to your caravan! Think it's going to look lovely 😍 when you finish it
I know you shortly are going to Kelling heath to stay, you must try Kelling heath garden centre which is right by it for food, you can walk it, but we never have! the food is lovely, we go at least a couple of times when we stay there, it's immaculate! they do cook breakfasts, lovely snack lunches, and even Sunday lunches, you won't be disappointed xx
Hi there Rosie, good to hear from you and thanks very much for the heads up. We know the garden centre but have never been so will check it out, thanks. Best wishes and take care, Helen & Dave
Your caravan will look amazing though looks nice now we have ordered the glitter strips from amazon they look great on the mirrors well done take care and have a lovely time away xx
Thanks Alison, the strips are nice and easy to apply. Measure twice, cut once lol. Take care, Helen & Dave
Congrats to Paul and Jayne for winning the 2 nights at Poppyland Caravan Park. The revamp bits that you’ve done so far look great and the battery lamps look like they give a lovely cosy glow to the caravan. 👍
Thanks very much Amanda, pretty sure it will enhance the final look once we have carpets, curtains etc. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Hi guys giving us some great ideas. Thank you.
Thanks Robert, we appreciate your support. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Love the mirror it looks amazing, great idea. Really would love to get our front benches re-upholstered, the foam isn't firm enough for my liking. Looking forward to seeing your end result.
Hi there Ashley, yeah our benches were too soft and after a while started to get uncomfortable. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Nice job on fitting the new sockets ,I realy like the look of the new curtains but I don't know about the blind on the mirrors, (I'm a big truffty tufty man ),the arm rest is the way to go ,I did a similar thing a while ago and it was a game changer in comfort, good luck on the rest of the refurbishment, see you soon for the update❤❤❤
Hi Jim, thanks as always, yeah, the bling isn't for everyone but hopefully it demonstrates a quick cheap fix option, other styles are available. lol Glad to hear the arm rest idea works, thanks. Nice lovely hearts from a rufty tufty man ha ha. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
You're definitely keeping busy, it's going to look fabulous . Hope Bella is OK and feeling better soon.💕🐾
Thank you so much Morag, hope we end up making the van look better at the end of all this lol. Take care, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave & Helen, Good to see you’ve made a start 👍. The mirrors look like they’re from a film stars dressing room 🎥 , but seriously it beats damaging the wall trying to prise the mirror off. Loads of sockets now and you would never know they’ve just been fitted 👍. I would probably have used one of the blanks for a USB point. Get well soon Bella. All the best, Rob & Gail 😀
Hi there Rob & Gail, bit of bling on the mirrors and we will see how we get on with them b ut worth a try before prising off the wall as you say. Did seriously consider a USB socket but we have loads of chargers so at least we get the best of both worlds with a 13amp socket. Roll of the fine weather but we need to get ready for a trip away in a couple of weeks. Take care both. Off to watch your Tow Car Tips vlog. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Nice video, Dave love the mirror👍
Cheers Ronnie, I know you like a bit of bling! lol.
Hi Helen and Dave. With regards to your sockets, disconnect the connector between the sockets (shown at bottom of screen at time 15.58), snip off the connectors and wire each end into your new sockets. Then wire a length of 3 core from left hand side new socket to the right hand side new socket. As sockets are usually part of a ring main this will keep it in place, rather than having 2 spurs.
Keep up the good work. Tracey and Steve
Thanks Steve :o)
It’s all looking good. We are hopeful going away to get her ready for our big holiday in march our poor girl is a bit dirty we live in Plymouth so we go down to riverside it’s an amazing family site and we are able to get our caravan cleaned and all in order. Sending love to you both ❤
Hi Karen, thanks so much. That sounds like a handy little site. You'll soon have her looking ship shape. Safe travels, Helen & Dave
Congratulations to the winners. Love your mirrors and can't wait to see your new curtains, our motorhome needs new ones so looking forward in seeing what they are like, we also have panels beside the windows that we need to do.
Thanks Amanda, just hope we end up making it better not worse. Great price on the curtains. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Just received my bling from Amazon today, thanks for the great solution to damaged mirrors!
Hope Bellas OK. Our little dog had 4 teeth out last week but she's bounced back really well, they're such a worry. Looking forward to the rest of the makeover.
Hi Cas, ah nice one! hope it works well for you. Yeah our 4 legged friends can be a worry! Thanks for watching. Helen &| Dave
Congratulations 🎉 to the winners, Wow you have been busy, love the diamonte surrounding the mirrors looks very posh. Love the lights too such a nice glow, cant wait to see the rest of the revamp. Take care x Julie and Tony x
Thanks so much Julie & Tony 😊
Hello. Hope Bella ok. Caravan going look like a new one even though it does now. Love them lamps. Mirrors very glamours. Congratulations to the winners. We're away nxt month carnt wait. Thankyou. Xx Helen looks better. Xx
Hello Alison & Keith, thanks, Bella is OK, just a small eye infection which we seem to be on top of. Back at the vets on Monday. Is next month the start of a new touring season for you? plenty to look forward to for you two, you're away more than we are. Stay safe and happy travels. Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave Yes 1st time away nxt Month. Keiths mum bin diagnosed with dementia on top of Cancer so not going far just local. You have fun. Xx
@ so sorry to hear this. Sending our best wishes to you all ❤️
Great vid and love the lamps. Fame at last, albeit Viktor, our dog, has the rightful higher standing in our family😂😂.
Sorry Ian, but of course you're right! Thanks again for sharing your idea. We loved it. ATB, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave & Helen, great idea with the mirrors and a nice find with the curtains. Hope Bella is ok and will watch your progress with interest. Congratulations to the winners! Chris & Steve
Thanks Steve & Chris, looking forward to the new look, hope it works!! Cheers, Helen & Dave
The idea with the cushion at the end is the same as what my Bailey has, see if your cushion guys can shape it so it curves with the backrest as well (again as Baileys do) instead of having straight edges otherwise you'll end up with a gap where the two join 👍
Hi Ashley, thanks for these heads up on this. Which model Bailey do you have please? I can then look for a pic to show the upholsterer. Cheers, Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDave youtube don't like links, tried 3 times now ha ha.. I've got a 2019 phoenix 650+, most of the pics on google have a scatter cushion in front, if you search for "2019 bailey phoenix 650+ seating" a couple do show up showing what it looks like. Mark at The Caravan Place has also done a vid on YT if you search for "Bailey Phoenix caravan. how to set up and use a Bailey Phoenix." as his title. 👍
@@HelenandDave Dave, have a looksie at your instagram messages, i've sent you a reply on there as it keeps getting rid of my replies on here.
Hi helen, dave and bella, van will look great when its done, helen you should sell your old caravan curtains someone would love them,we have a motorhome so i dont think they would fit.hope your all well, take care xx ❤
Great idea Julie, glad you like what we have done so far, the big work will make the most difference of course. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Hi to you both .. Hope Bella’s will be ok .. paws crossed.
Loving the revamp, can’t wait to see it all done..
I am off to run cottage in February, can’t wait to give the caravan an airing.
Look forward to your next vlog.. take care.
Hi Donna, love Run Cottage, hope you have a great stay. Bella is fine thanks, just a little eye infection just taking a while to get rid of. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave,
Well, it begins, the makeover has started so far so good 👍.
What about a large moulded one piece cushion in the corner with a built in headrest like some baileys and adrias have.
We can not believe the price you were quoted for curtains initially 😮, certainly a lot cheaper with the second quote, nice one.
The price of any parts for a caravan is ridiculous, fully understand why you bought new, I would have done the same 😅.
Hope Bella is feeling better 😊.
Well done to the winners, hope they enjoy.
Take care and travel safe 🙏.
Paul and Joanne 👍 ❤️
Hi Paul & Joanne, it's been a hectic week. Bella is OK but will be back at the vets on Monday, she has an eye infection which is a bit concerning because this is how it started with the other eye before she lost it, but our vet is great and he thinks so far, no reason to be too concerned. The revamp will come together quickly when the curtains, carpets and new upholstery go in but lot's of little jobs in the meantime. Best wishes to you both, hope all is well. thanks, Helen & Dave

🙏👍❤️
Amazing video Helen and Dave thank you enjoyed watching canit for the next video . Takecare both of you .
Glad you enjoyed it Helen, hope you're ok and we hope you have a lovely weekend! Helen & Dave
Helen you are a girl after my heart. I love a good mooch on Amazon. Well we decided not to revamp our 20 year old van. She is going to a new home and we have upgraded to 2017 Lunar Ultra 560. Can't wait to pick her up
What is it with you Helen's and Amazon? Can't get her off of it lol!! They offered us a business account, she orders that much!! Yep 20 years is a good age, served you well but a new van will serve you well. Good luck, Helen & Dave
Loving following your makeover xx
Yay! Thank you Sandra, when the carpets, curtains and upholstery go in then it will look very different but lot's of little bits to enhance too. Thanks for watching, hope you're well. Helen & Dave
Thanks for another great video. Enjoy your holiday.
Thank you! You too Mike.
👍very nice will look forward to seeing it all done 💜 Glad you both well XX
Thanks so much Jennifer, the BIG bit will come last but we're hoping it will all come together and look good. Thanks for watching and take care, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave and Helen once again a great video caravan starting to take shape with the new ideas we have something similar around the washroom mirror in our caravan but the bottom strip was always pealing off so I had to use panel cleaner to clean the mirror it’s never moved since it’s one to watch out for see next time cheers Paul
Thanks for the heads up on that Paul, TBH it did cross my mind that that could happen, will keep a close eye. Hope you're all well and tanks as always, Helen & Dave
The pub I go at Anstruther caravan site am booked in for the start of the season have home made lights from empty whisky bottles with led lights inside them customers sit and play with them by switching them on and off
Clever idea, bet they look great Cameron.
Lovely to see you both back and love all of your blogs
Hi Joe, thanks so much, great to hear from you and we appreciate you watching the vids. Stay tuned, Helen & Dave
Great vlog looking good where did you sorce electric socket ? Well done winners

March isn’t that far away ❤ taking a sneaky look at other peoples vans I took your idea of the pebble stick on mirrors but in a Chinese design 👍
Hi Bessie, you're right, it's Feb tomorrow so March will be here in a flash. Can't wait to be honest, longer days, shorter nights and warming up (hopefully). Thanks as always, take care, Helen & Dave
Hope Bella is OK.
Good to see you keeping Amazon going!
TBH, we found the front locker storage boxes to be a pain, nothing we needed to put in them, so took them out to save weight - and the metal bracket, which weighed 3kg by itself. We can then get all we need in that locker and still be just below 100kg nosewight.
Those mirrors do now look rather blingy, perhaps a candelabra for the front window to keep with the Liberace theme?😉
You're not thinking straight Mel! Far too much of a fire risk in the window, I thought it would be better in the awning along with a rotating mirror ball. lol. Bella is doing fine so far thanks Mel, a little eye infection which hopefully we have under control. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
@ Well, that is very Disco, Dave………coming to a campsite soon, Disco from the Canopy
Bought a mattress topper for the van bed was more uncomfortable with it than without ended up binning it also took up a lot of storage space
We did the same, ended up putting it under the mattress not on top of it lol.
Ayy Dj great video 👍👍
Hey, thanks, just subscribed to your channel, enjoy the reggae, reggae grooves. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Great video, loved the mirrors genius idea. Just a quick question, where does Bella sleep in the caravan? ❤️xx
Hi Angela, she has a bed (we keep it under the bed) then we get it out at bed time and she settles down in that. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
Great vlog once again, The upgrades are looking good. If your thinking of selling your curtains let me know, they would look good in my swift sprite major 4sb 😀
Hiya, thanks very much, wanting to get those big jobs done that will make a big difference. Once we get our new curtains and we’re happy with them we may well sell the old ones. Watch this space 👍😊
Nice Dave but got my Mrs. started now 😳🤣on my alpine 2 just had power point put outside fed up putting the lead through garage window easy hook up. Look forward to finished look👍 plus £500 for curtains without material is very steep Mrs x curtain business she said 😮
Hi there Ray, external power point was one of our better ideas use it on the drive to plug the hoover in when cleaning the car lol. Yeah that first quote for curtains was off the scale!! Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Tried the winding the jockey wheel down trick so the vans not level and any water lying on it runs off it works some water ran off it
Nice one! I always keep the front end slightly lowered. 👍
Hi folks, I’ve tried looking online for Caroline’s Curtains but I keep getting safety certificate blocking messages. Would you please put a link in the description? It might help. TIA
Hi Sandra, I will and sorry it’s carolines caravan curtains 😬 carolinescaravancurtains.co.uk here it is and I’ll put it in description 👍
Thank you 🙏
I remember you saying you washed your curtains. Are they dry clean only? Was it successful please
Hi Jane, they are dry clean only but I did them on a cool wash, got them straight on the line and ironed them and they came up a treat! Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
It was a quick wash too Jane
@@HelenandDaveThank you for that I will give it a try. Loving the changes you are making to your van. We have a similar problem with the bathroom mirror so are going to put a trim on , brilliant idea. X
Another van maker nearly gone heard Eldiss are close to going out business
Blimey! It seems like it's been Boom followed by Bust!!!
My blow air heating on the vans not working on electric but there’s heat coming out the fire maybe some of your viewers would know how to fix this I think there might be a reset button somewhere but I can’t find it a new fans About £160 second hand so it’s not worth buying can u help thanks
Hi Cameron, not my area of expertise but assume you have checked that the hoses are all connected OK?
What has the vet said about Bellas eye please? I just might be able to help wirh that.
Hi Linda, she has lens luxation, sadly quite common in this breed and when we rescued her three years ago she lost her right eye through it. We were told she would likely lose the other eye within 6 months but three years later she is still doing very well. She has though picked up an infection which the vet believes could be irritation form the 5 drops a day she has to take to help prevent the loss of this eye too. Her pressure tests are very good and the eye is in good condition overall so currently no real concerns but she has to take a further two drops to fight the infection. She's her normal self. Thanks for asking and watching the video. Helen & Dave
@HelenandDave that's exactly what happened to our Oscar. He was a resue dog with sight in only one eye and kept having trouble with the other eye. The insurance wouldn't pay out for any eye condition because of what happened previous to when I got him so I spent an absolute fortune on him and travelled so far to see a specialist we had to stay overnight. I'm not saying he didn't do a good job, but I think he was just an experiment for him as he never wanted me to go to another vet for the condition. Anyway, to cut a long story short, he did the dirty on me one time I went, and I never went back. His eye had cleared up, I believe it was a corneal ulcer, so I hope Bella never gets one of those. In the end, he was diagnosed with dry eye. I had to put in numerous drops, including Remend, Optix, something or other, but someone mentioned getting Tears Naturalle 11(two), and they were the best thing ever. I could only get them from Morrisons Pharmacy, but he used tubes of them. I also had to say they were for me. I hope Bella is okay and on the mend. Sadly, we lost our Oscar in November last year whilst in Cornwall, but the vet posted his ashes to me. I wasn't prepared for losing him at all. Stay safe and take care xx
Have you ever heard of the Henry blogg museum in Cromer Henry was a lifeboatman this would make a good story for 1 of your videos dave
Hi Cameron, no not familiar with this but will have to investigate further next visit to Cromer. Thanks for the heads up! Helen & Dave
Beginning to sound like an advert channel for Amazon along with other cheap labour imports without thinking about the effects our buying power has on the environment and other people’s lives.
What a silly comment Ron! Life is all about choices you have an opinion which is wildly off the mark but if you don't like what we do, then don;t watch the channel!!! Dave
You didn't reference the advert for the local upholsterer in Caister on Sea and the curtain maker in Birmingham!
My wife agrees with you both, I’m a grumpy old git and have the socks to match😂. Fair play with using old stock curtains and local produced cushions.👍
@ 😂😂👍👍 would love to see those socks Ron 😊
