    Very interesting project! I’ll have to try it out. I have a quick question, what are the restrictions on the Isle of Wight in regards to building a camp fire? Thanks for sharing.

      Building a fire on public land is not advised, fortunately I have permission from a few landowners that allow me to wildcamp and have a fire, they trust me which is nice.

    I imagine you could split it even further, 2 ft or so then insure fatwood all the way down and let the fire work it’s way down over time. Staggering the lengths of fatwood may help with that as well.
    I like your design. Very nice.

      Many thanks W.O. Yes, if they are around, I will gather some filberts, love hazel nuts, the problem sometimes is getting to them before the reds ( squirrels ) do.
