Makesl sure you buy out all the vendors before you leave act 1! Each merchant has excellet gear that you wont be able yo get again, even though the rep carries over!
enjoyed the tips when checking for loot there are times that it's hard to find so go to map and you will see locations of the loot a tip for alignment is if going heretical know you will lose certain character due to alignment: imperial stawarts will leave so you will need to hire more from the bridge officer that sells loot [sadly forgot his name]
@SlanderedGaming I don't know if this is the same place but in act 1 you can in one specific area hack turrets to fight for you, has to be done before the battle I think
Cassia has some beginner friendly navigator abilities that force enemies to move towards a given point. This stops ranged enemies from running away and pulls enemies out of cover for easy shooting/ grenade grouping. You can even pick up a talent that does solid damage when she moves them. So yeah she's not just lidless eye lol
1 major tip, go into options, there will be an option to stop following characters. This way, every time you fire a ranged weapon, it doesnt bounce the screen back to that character. In the footage above, the turret fight, constantly back and forth gives me a headache. Turning that option off is huge.
Extra tip. There is a tool called ToyBox which would let you respec a character all the way back to level 1. I think it even lets you change origins etc. fyi for a second playthrough. ToyBox is also good to get around the odd bug.
Been playing RT for a bit but the almost complete breakdown of act 4 cause of all the bugs frustarted me into stopping, not just the broken flags for quests but also the sudden massive increase in alignment checks despite the pitiful amounts of alignment points we are getting up to that point makes me feel like there was more content that was cut but the never changed the point requirements. One of the things im curious about is now that the full game is released has you opinions of the various companions changed from when you did your impressions of them from the beta?
Hi loved the videos. If you celebrate Christmas now Merry Christmas . A few questions: 1. Santiel Pride inside the tower there is a blocked door from the other side . How do you open it? 2. How do you melt the ice planet ? Can you give me a guide, please? 3. The polygot achievement how do you get it? 4. How do you get a pet forgefiend?
Super useful tips all around. I don’t know why I never thought to use the stars to mark talents I want to take in the future, but you can be sure I’ll use them from now on. Excellent content, as always :)
I discovered your channel recently because of getting Rogue Trader and looking for levelling guides. Well, your content is fantastic and I'm using all 6 of your guides thus far. As luck would have it, I had planned on playing an officer just like Lord Highslander even before watching your videos! So fun!
Before you have a full group if you access Janris Danrock, you can increase your party and fill it up to 6 when you might only have 4 characters at that point.
He found that one in the lets play, though. The other one is the pirate void ship, gives you early access to the fellowship if you don’t blow it up, I think he missed that one.
BTW Hive World Origin + Noble + Officer + Master Tactician is bonkers, you set up your willpower checks to instead scale off Fellowship then go all in on Fellowship whenever you can with Ballistic OR Weapon Skill as secondary, then you have basically a good all rounder build for your Rogue Trader, which is great at commerce, great as complementing Cassia's or Jae's role and can be super heroic scaling off their Fellowship and their Retinue. The combo is kind of weak early on (from level 1 to 10) and semi-dependent on gear to round it out, but becomes absolutely broken as the game progresses and is a strong contender choice for higher difficulty runs or playing the game at core settings. You should heavily focus on momentum (to have heroic acts on speed dial) and resolve boosting (I decide the turn order!) and scaling everything off fellowship, from defence to your offence. Yes you start with 5 less fellowship than an Imperial Start, but you get slightly more agility and you can get the origin passive to use Fellowship for willpower checks. You will however have relatively low willpower throughout the game, so best to give willpower gear to someone else instead, or boost up your willpower where you can but keep it under fellowship still for the passive to stay in effect. Effectively making it so that Cassia as your Grand Strategist starts combat, then she delegates to you the rogue trader, then you use your master tactician stacks to take control of the battle, from this point on the enemy only takes their turns when you decide they do, you pretty much control the situation now. (BTW with this build by level 20 your starting Master Tactician stacks would be between 30 and 40, insane! That is right at the start of combat btw). Your entire focus is increasing Momentum, Resolve and MP (movement points); What is the point in extending the range of abilities, when you can simply min/max your team instead and then bring them into range to use said abilities then quickly send them back into cover? A much better way to approach combat in my opinion. The entire build centres around spamming heroic acts, proc'ing off heroic acts and supercharging combat momentum. In higher difficulties I also suggest getting medic and healing your team from your tactical advantage stacks when you use abilities on them as well as super charging the healing power of medic packs. In the setting of Rogue Trader, a true *healer* build is and always has been a Master Tactician. You automatically start the fight as your Rogue Trader, then you use your abilities on Cassia or Jae to boost their momentum gains, then Cassia goes next automatically and already starts with high momentum, so she can use her heroic act early, giving you additional early turns. You do what you want to do, the game has little say on when you get to use your retinue in a fight, you command the situation. Half the time I win before the end of my first turn because I can get 3 of my retinue members to act before the enemy can even move, Cassia bunching them all up in a group and then we all throw grenades at them, wiping them out! In my opinion turn order *is* the most important stat in the entire game and combining a Master Tactician with a Grand Strategist Officer on your team (you only need two officers) affords you this advantage. Especially so in higher difficulties, it can mean the difference between a dead or alive retinue member, it also gives you the power to prep your squad with buffs and debuff the enemies before the enemies can even act. I'd recommend following what Slandered Gaming suggests, making Cassia full Navigator build; Either her going support or full crowd control damage AoE monster. Jae however can be your *actual grand strategist* unless you instead want to build her as a gun toting twin pistol shooting rogue, which she was in the early beta, which was busted and OP so the devs nerfed her.
Everyone talking about buying vendor out, but hear me out comrade. Its owlcat game There is 5 faction. CHOOSE ONLY 1 FACTION YOU LIKE and forgot others. Its the only way. You wont regret it when you max your faction of choice on later act Dont say i didn't warn you, every level you raise in other faction raise the upper limit to max one faction
I’m keeping my playthrough but definitely wish I didn’t pick officer 😅 but will play something else on my next playthrough where I play a male instead of a female and a difference personality type.
@@SlanderedGaming its broken, but doesnt give much for your character to do, just tells others to do stuff. giving pascal (whom i have as a sniper) or the battle nun another turn is immense. can also give melee frontline a chance to charge and tie up the big enemy in a fight is also huge.
Jae sells Xenos items so she's a sure bet. Abelard will probably stay by your side no matter what. Cassia seems like putty that can be molded however you see fit. Same with Pasqal. Obviously Marazhai is a good fit. There also might be room to corrupt Heinrix.
You get 2 more going heretic, but they are pretty badly leveled 35 and one is seriously buggin invisible Best bet is merc heretic, considering people who left you might want soldier AM or Operative assasin melee ot sanctic psyker melee
I'm loving this game even if it's a bit complicated opted for a telepath/operative My only grief so far are : -I can't be gay with Ulfar seriously lemme romance the big guy !!! why Owlcat always denies me the characters I want to romance ? 😭 -The only interesting Origin for you as the player is the psyker I don't find the others as interesting and shiny as the psyker wish we had more origins like that Cassia and Pasqal have great Origins too...I wanna play with those abilities too ! ...or something just as shiny !!! I don't care how good are the other origins Cause I feel like they're just "not Psyker" x)
Space marines don't have romance. They are essentially eunuchs. I don't think it's outright stated anywhere but it is implied their genitals are removed in some of the lore. I'm not too far in yet, just finished chapter 1, but neither Ulfar or Argenta should be romanceable. These are people married to the emperor and very devoted.
Characters only respec to the lvl when you added them into the party. So respecing them as soon as you get them is wasted. Personally I hate this as this is the same as its been in all Owlcat games but it is what it is. I use a mod to fully respec my mc and companions.
@@SlanderedGaming I fking hope so. Hate this stupid thing. However the characters don't need a respec like in their earlier games, coz I've been following a build guide and they all keep the skills that they had. That was not the case in Pathfinder games, in them character builds were useless.
Makesl sure you buy out all the vendors before you leave act 1! Each merchant has excellet gear that you wont be able yo get again, even though the rep carries over!
I’m in act 2 and I actually really like this chapter. Exploration combined with “dungeons” is in a sweet spot.

Janris. Yup that's a good call out.
The turrets you are fighting during tip #12 can be avoided by sending Pasqal into the computer room to the right. You can turn them off.
Oh wow I didn't know that. Do you still get the same amount of XP?
@SlanderedGaming I don't know if this is the same place but in act 1 you can in one specific area hack turrets to fight for you, has to be done before the battle I think
thank you so much for explaining the attribute bonuses. I could never figure out how it was calculated 😅

15:30 tip - navigator does not affect veil
Degradation, making them extra powerful psykers.
Not only that, but Cassia has an ability that repairs the veil and a talent that reduces veil degradation by 1 each time she uses an ability.
@@TheChairmaker indeed. Navigators are OP which is lore appropriate.

There's 2 vendors in the prologue tech priest next to Governor can buy bolter and bolter pistol off them and I think a neck piece for officer
