    Hey man thanks for using our WestCoastStandard battery enclosure! For your next one hit us up for a pack as well! We make them out of 40T cells so you get more output, more range and less sag then with 30q cells. Keep on shredding man!

    Since you have a Dremel now, you should start cutting down the threads of the electric conduit fittings so the caps screw all the way down. It will create a cleaner look and have less sticking out to possibly catch on things. Your boards are nice. Thanks for sharing your builds.

    Clean build man! I'd suggest mounting the components, especially the battery, to the deck itself and then use the enclosure simply as a cover rather than to carry all the components. Kydex and ABS will eventually crack when carrying all that weight over many bumps in the road. Fiberglass enclosures do much better carrying weight, so mounting the battery to the board is not as much of a concern with fiberglass.

    • @DIYesk8Builders
      @DIYesk8Builders  5 років тому +4

      Yeah I have heard other people say the same thing, but it has never posed a problem for me and I have ridden 1,500 miles on my personal board. My concern is that the deck flexes and with the battery connected to the deck, so would the battery. The enclosure flexes too, but less so so it is a tradeoff I had to make

    Checkout riptide APS bushings as they’re what people use for freeride and downhill skating, and they have a chart to tell you the duro you need

    My diy build I had my VESC drop voltage to my RX under wot forcing it into fail safe of "keep throttle open for 2 seconds" I flew for a good 15 feet. Ive got a different vesc than you but it might be worth checking. Id recommend laying down on the board with full gear to test it just in case it sticks. I fixed it by using a capacitor type SBEC ran direct off 12s.
    Those motors are great, its got way more power than people think.

    Two recommendations about screw in nuts:
    put some epoxy around them before screwing in to seal the up as they can be moisture ingress points and damage the deck.
    You don't need to go all the way through. You can generally go from the other side and just go as far as you need, making it look even cleaner.

    • @langcheng5443
      @langcheng5443 5 років тому +1

      Eh, DIY isn't necessarily the best option. You can easily mess up in the building process and spend more than you needed to and prebuilt customer support is nice too. The ownboard evolve clones are imo better with cloudwheels than AT wheels due to the turning behavior of dkp trucks, but rain riding is def limited on those wheels.

    • @runningcolekong
      @runningcolekong 5 років тому

      I just felt like the Ownboard was the best option, I imagine you could throw some Abec 107’s on as well for street.
      Sad thing is I almost bought another hub motor cause they’re just so much cheaper with roughly the same specs. I chewed threw the PU on my last hub wheels though.

    • @langcheng5443
      @langcheng5443 5 років тому +1

      @@runningcolekong you could try buying abec 107s and evolve's wheel pulleys, this vid shows us the wheel pulley fits, but I'm not sure if ownboard's MOTOR pulley will fit with it. Performance-wise, smaller wheels AND an appropriately smaller gear ratio should increase both accel and top mph

    • @runningcolekong
      @runningcolekong 5 років тому

      Valid point... I’d assume if the clouds fit, there’s gotta be some 100mm wheel out there that can work

    Nice build, yup been there done that. If your looking for sub sonic speeds.Check out west Coast Standard's latest release. You can't go back after a "ride". Wcs " chamber trucks" are stable and wobble free to 40+mph. I haven't gone beyond it yet. I leave this to the kids. Hey! I'm 50+, my days are numbered. I test all the custom builds by psychotiller,personally. So I can personally speak on their behalf. The forged billet units use10mil. Axles. Not typical 8's. They're practically bulletproof. Look it up. The rest of the build looks solid...except... I ride pneumatic. Urethane is too harsh at extended rides to be fun. The 6x3 "six shooters, make all the difference. You lose distance. But gain vastly improved traction and road dampening. Especially, after30+mph. Saves knee joint aches and pain. Besides, it's just plain dope looking.
    I haven't mentioned the "Project Zero" yet. Hmmmm.... Should I? (My new girlfriend, boys. Get your own!)
    I'm going to wait. A new vid is forthcoming.

    I dont think the ESC should have stayed inside that heatshrink bag. i think that was to keep moisture and other things out while shipping. all thats gonna do is keep the heat in. i mean i could be wrong but that just seems so weird, if it really is that way id just coat the board in a special spray to help prevent moisture.

    Hey I have an interesting dilemma. I have a boosted board v2 but I lost the remote and charger. I can’t find these for a reasonable price on the internet, are there any other remotes or chargers that would work?
    Any help is extremely appreciated

    Would you recommend the double kingpin trucks in this setup for a top mount enertion raptor style deck or would the ride be too unstable ? I really like the motor mount for them but i was planning on getting reverse kingpins from surfrodz for the stability and id like to know how these compare

      Surfrodz are probably more stable but I personally like the dip for the carvs

    Do u have the price of all the components weather they are from third party or from ur own sales ? .cos I want cheap budget and ones I started doing some research I always come across getting it done way more cheaper buy buying all the components my self . The only problem I would have is with software other than than looks anyone can build it just buy watching ur video.

    Curious. Does the build complexity go up if you build it with 4 motors? Also if adding bigger 8" off road wheels?
    Great build keep up the good works.
    Thanks

    • @DIYesk8Builders
      @DIYesk8Builders  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah that would make things trickier as you would need double ESC's and squeezing everything in there. Definitely possible though

    What would be my best option for 6384 motors? Should I get massive trucks or would I need to mound one motor under the board? Thanks

    • @DIYesk8Builders
      @DIYesk8Builders  4 роки тому

      The double kingpins won't fit dual 6384, you could use torque boards 218mm trucks or boardnamics hangers

    • @eirenwhelan3312
      @eirenwhelan3312 4 роки тому

      DIY esk8 Builders I think the 218mm trucks only support up to 80mm motors. What are the hangers? Thanks

    That is awesome!!! How well did the gasket for the plastic enclosure seal against the deck with the deck being convex and the enclosure being flat? With it being fastened to the deck you could take a heat gun and soften the enclosure enough that it'd probably form to the deck exceptionally well.

    • @DIYesk8Builders
      @DIYesk8Builders  4 роки тому

      It actually sealed pretty well, I'm sure it would work even better with the heat gun

    why did u use double-king-pin for that high speed? would normal king pin trucks not be more stable?

    • @DIYesk8Builders
      @DIYesk8Builders  4 роки тому

      Yes skp would be more stable but we personally like the feeling of dkp more for carving. We also like the fact that they have the built in motor mounts as many caliber mounts come loose over time. We rarely actually go up to those high of speeds but the board is capable of it
