“Buy once, cry once.” That’s a good one. Great video. Really enjoyed the write, slice, pry video as well. Get that mill running and make some cool shit. You know I’m in
RMJ has definitely been on my radar for some time now, just haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet! You're a lot like me, I too go for quality and use it! I was just using my Sebenza to cut some laminate flooring, had some plywood under it for backing, but wouldn't you know it, my cut on the laminate was longer than the ply wood I had under it, so blade on driveway concrete! But damage was surprisingly minimal and sharpened right back up and ready for more work! Go for that milling machine and make something cool! You won't know unless you try!
30:36 I really enjoy sitting here with my NGMCo Mr. Nice Bar, BNo1, and Side Piece hearing 3-years-ago Archman kicking around the dream… (You did it man!)
I just found your channel, and glad to have found a fellow "buy once, cry once." That Genny Wren looks just so nice. My wallet is already hurting... Do you have any experience with the CRKT version? I would imagine it would be heavier and have a less quality steel and heat treat (heat tweet? Wren?) K, thanks for your informative and chill videos.
Rockwell is important for certain given uses. Such as folding knives..the higher the rockwell the better the wear resistance against wearing abrasion. But if you have a hard use tool rockwell is less important. You still wouldnt want it too soft or it just wont take or hold an edge at all. But geometry is the most important..the heat treat then the steel type.
I am also a pretty big fan of RMJ's products. I currently have the Kestrel Feather. So, which did you like better? Kestrel, or Jenny Wren? And why, if you don't mind me askin?
@@iAMboognish Cool, thanks for the reply. I love my Kestrel, but I also really dig the Jenny. So, it appears that I'm gonna have to get one of them, too. I have a hellofa way of keepin myself broke. Lol
Oh and sorry i forgot what i actually came to say lol. I have a crkt Jenny wren. Far less expensive made of sk5 steel and i love it. Its light but has a lot of power for its size. And its just a joy to throw. I bought one for 100 canadian. So you could probably get it around 60 usd. I have an rmj shrike in 4140 and the sk5 holds an edge about the same and is also super easy to sharpen but its not quite as tough. But not something youd probably notice.
Hey man, you got style. I like it,gonna check out some more videos. I'm not as budget as some but more than you are for sure, so I get to vicariously gear up through you....don't fail me. ///_
I have the older JW that doesn’t have that rounded spot for your finger, to choke up on. That sucker will bite you good if you get too close to it, sharp is right,,,
Don’t let that mountain lion take your fingers or wiener. I never took a good look at RMJ. The J-Dubya looks pretty sweet. Your endorsement of any product tells me the quality and functionality are both high. So is the price probably. 😉 If you decide to build edc shit, I will buy it.
I want this so much, but.....I also like to try the "WK RnD Full Size Axe". What do you think? It would mean a lot to me. In the end, I guess I'll end up with both, lol.
It just seems so short to do what an axe is meant to do. Heavier at the buissnes end so it can chop with more force. If you want lightweight and balanced I'd go with a knife

Great review. In the right hands that would unleash mayhem. Or cut a nice steak!

Just a user speaking on a tool and sharing the journey
Refreshing approach
I'm all for purchasing some edc stuff from you. Good luck on your hunt! Have a great time!

Jenny mainly because it is more compact. I also like the utilitarian look of the JW. I would also give a nod to the extra swell in the handle on JW

My jenney wren didn't come with the top of axe sharpened? Did you do that?
