My hobby is model building in plastic and have also dabbled in Bburago metal kits. You have done well in weathering and have given me some ideas. I have bought several 1/24 plastic kits of the Porsche 917K from the Le Mans and Sebring of ’70 & ’71 and will attempt to weather some of them. I will follow what you have done, without overdoing it; to the extent of being like a WRC car. I have also taken a photo of this car @ 24:55 for reference as well. Thank you for sharing.
Looks great! I never knew Bburago made metal kits - I thought they only did display models. The European Le Mans Series is back at Silverstone this year, so who knows...maybe WEC will return too at some point?
Wow! Very impressive Thomas! Looks a lovely model to begin with and not difficult apart from the many decals. The way you have detailed and upgraded the model has elevated it quite alot, and that's one of the things I love about your channel and your modelling. Very impressive to improve a model , sometimes small increments which make so much of a difference. I wasn't sure about the weathering until I saw the finished model, but I've got to say, it looks absolutely wicked! Shown against the photo of the real thing, its superb and a wonderful likeness. You have made it more than just a model, it's a piece of art! Something different Thomas but just as enjoyable. Fantastic work mate! 👏👌👍
Nice work Thomas, this was my first time following someone building these modern Bburago metal kits and it was fun. You did great work adding your personal touches that made it much more realistic. Well done.
I bought this kit after seeing your video! I really loved your work on the little details like adding the fins and the carbon fibre, it gives a lot of realism to the model ( I will try to do the same on mine, hoping it will be half as good as yours), congrats. ❤
Thanks for sharing this build Thomas. I've never considered a Bburago model but you may have just wetted my appetite. The finished model with the additional detail and weathering really does lift the model to a really nice likeness to the real thing. Your tip of using the backing sheet of the decals as templates is also very handy. Cheers mate for a job well done.
Well done, the weathering looks amazing I like it. Never built a Bburago kit or looked into them before but am intrigued now. Back in 70's I did build some metal kits, can't remember if they were Corgi or Dinky, but it was basically some of their products released in kit form, I remember doing a Transit van a few times. Model on
Thanks, Sarah Jane. I don't know how many metal kits Bburago make - it was interesting to note this was considered 'Advanced'. There are a lot of decals but not much else difficult.
Hiya, the answer to you question from me is , as long as it was an interesting subject like this Ferrari, just to add I love the channel..regards from Somerset..
Good job, I think Bburago got the paintjob wrong though. The real car appears to be a darker red and matte finish, while their model has an orange hue to it (atleast in the video) and a gloss finish.
Thanks! I had thought it was originally matte too but it was actually gloss before the race. It's the same shade of red as their 2023 F1 car except the F1 is matte whilst the 499p was gloss. It's matte now though as they clear coated over the dirt.
Thank you! I got it on eBay from an Italian model shop here - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315991033461?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=apO2zpBRS4K&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Fxn4-ayERuS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
wait a minute, they do really have the metal kit ? i bought the die cast last year in 1/24 scale. If i know that they going to release this kit, i would have got this kit than the diecast
What's your opinion on these metal kits from Bburago? Would you build one?
I would definitely build one.😊
Упаковка выглядит дороже,чем изначально сама модель
499P I would !
no, why paint it but not apply the decals? I hate screws too. Informative video inspite of subject.

You're welcome and thanks for watching! If you want any more pictures, let me know as I took a few from different angles.
Great video ❤. Already took it with the same idea😊

Thanks so much, Bobby. It was a car I wanted to build but not at the price of the resin kit so I'm glad I got this one when I saw it.
@@BOABModels kinda expensive for the resin! 😱

I gotta go look for this kit. Thanks for sharing

Thanks very much, Allan. These are nice kits to build which can go together much more quickly than a standard plastic kit
Looks cool. 👍
Beautiful work Thomas!
Many thanks!

Superb..

Great work as always Thomas
You did a great job in this. I have built one, a Ford Bronco. Nice kits, a bit soft on detail, but they build up nice.
Cheers! Interesting to know what other metal kits there are out there.
Awesome job.👍 I have built some maisto diecast kits.
Thanks very much! I remember having a few 1/18 Maisto models as a kid, were the kits based on those?
Are those maisto kits more or less the same as the Bburagokits, with seperated decal sheet ?? i like to do a few cars,as cars i use to have before.
@janvanrenselaar5998 yes.
@@BOABModels they were 1/24 or 1/25 scale kits same as Bburago.
@ perfect, thank you for that info
